Josh gave us a reasonable quote. I was able to contact only two of his references, one of which was obviously a relative, but since he only gets paid when the job is done, I figured we had little to lose. The crew showed up on time, on the right day, and did outstanding work. Really, the paint job is beautifully done, and the team he hired(sub-contractors, we learned) were brilliantly skillful and cheerful about touching up the spots we found, and there were, admittedly, quite a few(it’s a big house!). They did spray and brush but I didn’t have a problem with the spraying and it didn’t end up all over the place. My only problem is that the power-washing dirtied the windows — they were covered with soapscum — and although Josh said he’d ask his guys to wash them, they didn’t have any equipment to do so. When they called him to ask what to do, he told them to figure it out. So they did their best, but I still need to hire window washers — who wants scummy windows when you have a freshly-painted house? I know this seems like a small thing, but some painting companies offer this service, and there they were with their ladders — how much trouble would it have been to do it right? We would have paid extra to get the windows really clean. They are not. We are grateful that they did such a nice job painting. One small area of rotted wood was not replaced, and we just forgot to tell Josh before we paid him — the painters said it wasn’t in their scope of work to fix it even though I understood that’s what they were going to do. Overall, I would hire them again and ask for the same crew, plus a window-washer!
