I used to eat a fair amount of Ali Baba back in the day. Then I moved and I didn’t think they delivered to me anymore, so I went without. Last week I was excited to discover Ali Baba on EatBlue and learn that they delivered to my workplace, so I ordered it. I got my typical chicken shawarma and their new Mediterranean fries. The fries were delicious! I never considered putting feta & Mediterranean dressing on fries before, but it seriously works. The shawarma left me a little sad– I’m not sure if the chicken was dry, there wasn’t enough garlic sauce, or if it was a combination of the two. I’ll definitely try again, hoping this was just an off day. In the past, I always loved their shawarma. I recall them having yummy hummus too, served with ample pita.

Gyro not quite as good as it used to be the meat was small portion. But the Greek salad was delicious I absolutely love their homemade Greek dressing. Wish they would at least serve beer and or wine

I’ve been going to Ali Baba’s for over 10 years! It’s definitely the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had! I went again two weekends ago and was not disappointed. I see they’ve changed their staff a bit(they could use a little training) but the quality of the food makes me overlook this challenge. The food comes out quick, it’s fresh and tasty. The best falafel, the best chicken shwarma, and the absolute best Fatoush you’ll ever have! Makes me miss living in Michigan.

This is pretty quality Middle Eastern food. Not the best, but definitely not bad. Both their hummus and garlic sauce are delicious. If you’re looking for Middle Eastern food and you can’t head down to Dearborn, this will definitely fit the bill. I’ve had both pick up and delivery and have been happy with both.

Pretty decent middle eastern food. Chicken shawarma is great, falafel were good but not great(but I prefer the green-inside kind, so if you like the brown ones, you may be happy) service was fine but not outstanding, but let’s be honest who cares, if the food is good I can tolerate bad service

Ordered lunch for a group for later delivery; food came within 20 minutes. Very nice that it came so quickly, however 10 chicken shwarma sandwiches at 10AM is not ideal, nor are cold fries for lunch 2 hours late. Also did not include condiments or silverware.

Rudest people ever. Period. Tossed their food in the garbage after getting burned chicken.

I’ve dined in a few times and ordered out — both great! I ordered through Grub Hub and it was so simple and quick. The staff are really nice and responsive. The hummus is super creamy and falafel is crunchy and delicious but somehow still moist on the inside. Lentil soup is great and so are their pita sandwiches.

I wish I could have tried it, but this restaurant does not honor its own coupons. When I arrived to pick up my order, the cashier told me, first, that my coupon did not apply to the sandwich that I ordered. Next, he told me that the coupon only applies to orders over $ 10. Nowhere, not on the coupon itself or in the magazine that I cut it from, does it state any of these caveats. This place strikes me as disingenuous, and so I have no time for it.

Excellent hummus and tabboulie platter. Came with pita wrapped in plastic. Would have liked it heated up or crisp but the taste of the platter was worth it Had chicken takoish sandwich. Excellent taste. We would come back again.

Food: Really fresh and delicious. They have a greek salad vinaigrette dressing that is tangy and AMAZING. It has to be one of my favorite salads in Ann Arbor. Good lentil soup and appetizers as well. For meat eaters, anything with chicken is great. The garlic sauce is also to die for. Delivery: Had one bad experience where driver complained about his tip(awkward and unprofessional, obviously) but delivery is always quick and efficient. The food is a great deal, so I don’t mind popping a bit extra to have it delivered. Their parking lot is tiny and oddly shaped, so either walk to pick it up or just have them bring it. Staff: Very friendly, fast, and helpful. They have let me come in and buy giant containers of the garlic even though that’s not really on the menu. They always come up with a fair price :)

The food was good(and decent sized portions), the prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly.

Ali Baba does chicken right! If I cooked chicken at home this well, I would never have to go out! Always marinated, moist & flavorful. Considerate staff. Standard pita bread. Salads are huge and lot of fixin’s included. The walls each have lovely mural paintings(done by hand), depicting Arabesque scenes.

I hate to leave bad reviews but this place is below average and overpriced. $ 15 for chicken schwarma that was too dry and a side of bland hummus? No thanks.

i probably eat at Ali Baba’s way too much, but I can’t help it. I love it so much and its so cheap! Anything with their chicken schwarma in it is fantastic — the chicken is super tasty and is great in sandwiches, on salads, or as a main dish. I love the dressing on their fattoush salad, and their french friends are seasoned and delicious.

We love to order and have food delivered to work. The food is always fresh, delicious and we want to support the business. I recently placed an order for delivery that totaled over $ 100, the delivery was prompt, but the woman who delivered was rude! She Complained about a generous cash tip openly in front of our customers and staff. It was very uncomfortable, and if it happens again, we will not order from Ali Baba again!!!

Such good food… such a crabby delivery person. Yelled at me in half English/half Arabic for only tipping $ 2 for delivery(on an $ 8 salad). Uh. I live a block away and the tip was 25%. Asked if I had any cash on me so I awkwardly meandered to my room and scrounged up a dollar and fifty cents in quarters. The food is actually really great but the horrible experience made me not want to order from there again.

I am not sure what happened because my first experience with Ali Baba’s was decent, but my second time there was definitely a horrible time afterwards. I’m assuming the food wasn’t fresh as some other Unilocalers have mentioned, so I, along with my other two friends, suffered from food poisoning right after eating here. Definitely not worth the trip or money.

I’m sad that it took me so long to try a place so good — and so close! I would describe Ali Baba’s as good, fresh(and fast) Mediterranean food. It’s not the most gourmet place you’ll ever go, nor the fanciest setting — but the eats definitely meet my standards. The chicken shawarma over spinach salad was perfectly flavorful and light, but still satisfying after a long day at the game. It had a pinkish, lemony dressing that was not at all what I expected but quite good. It was also served with a pretty large portion of fresh pita wedges. The falafel wrap was yummy and had a good tang from the pickles inside. And a great deal at only $ 4.99 for the sandwich. The fries here are rumored to be the best in A2. Some of the other menu items are pricier and the menu itself isn’t too extensive, but I maintain that the restaurant is good for what it is: a nice spot for takeout or light lunch/dinner that is satisfying and healthy. With pleasant outdoor seating when weather permits!

I ordered food from Ali Baba on GrubHub and it was a terrible experience. When the driver arrived, he apparently called me a few times and I didn’t notice my phone ringing. Finally he came up and knocked on the door, furious that I had ignored his calls(he was literally yelling at me). It is my understanding that delivery includes getting out of the car and bringing the food to the front door. But even if I’m wrong about that, I didn’t deserve to be shouted at. As he was leaving, the driver snapped at me that next time if I’m going to order for delivery I need to order at least $ 20 worth of food, even though their GrubHub page clearly states that the minimum for free delivery is $ 10. I got the sense that this driver was just in a bad mood and taking it out on me, which is the cardinal sin of customer service. Under no circumstances should a driver yell at a paying customer. Unfortunately I had already tipped him on my card when I ordered online; otherwise I would surely have withheld the tip given how rude he was. And to top it all off, the food was sub par. Pretty bland and a small portion size for what I paid. I was quite disappointed. Won’t be ordering from this place again.
