Ribs were pretty good. Big portion. Couldn’t finish them. After you order you can roll two dice for a chance to win a free burger. Let my little brother get free ice cream cause he rolled the same number as his age. Very cool spot. Staff is very friendly as well.

What a great place for a burger or ribs! I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times and each time I loved it. The service is excellent, and I’ve tried different burgers each time and loved them. This week it was the Boxcars burger which had a nice spicey sauce on it. Totally delicious. The owner also brought us out some complimentary ribs to try and they were awesome too. I highly recommend this place and will plan on visiting often.

I just happened to spot this place while running and errand. This is definitely one of the top 2 places for a burger! Service was prompt and accurate, the burgers were delicious, so were the chili cheese fries. They have an unused back area for some reason, which is too bad for the ones who prefer outdoor seating(there’s some in the front, which isn’t as nice) but overall it was a great find!

I had the bacon & bleu cheese burger with fries and a chocolate shake. The burger was excellent: cooked medium-rare as I requested, with just enough toppings to keep things interesting without drowning the taste of the beef. The fries here are really good too. My only complaint was that the chocolate shake was not mixed right: it was very liquidy on the top with too much milk, not enough ice cream, and icy slush at the bottom. I’ve had a really good milkshake here before though so I’ll chalk this one up to employee error and not the standard operating procedure. This restaurant always seems empty and as another reviewer mentioned I get the sense that this may be a business in trouble. I recommend local folks check it out and maybe start building some buzz if you enjoy the food!

This is spot I had been wanting to visit but just had not made it in yet. Well turns out turkey day eve was the day. The system is Panera like, although they did not give us a marker, which was not a big deal since we were the only folks visited right then. The menu is mostly sandwiches /burgers /dogs. They have a salad section but I feel it is more of an effort to appease moms who might be bringing in the kids. Although the place was pretty empty on turkey day eve I have noticed multiple minivans. We each got a burger. All the burgers are Angus. The buns are large but good. The fries were pretty good. They have an assortment of burger styles. I got the smokehouse BBQ burger. Hubby went with a bacon bleu burger. Bro tried the boxcar burger, it had a little too much of a kick for him but was enjoyed later by someone who thought it was darn good. I think this would be a good place to satisfy a real burger craving depending on its proximity to you. We were gifted with some ribs which I thought were OK although I little dry(they were close to closing on pre-thanksgiving Wednesday). I do like the BBQ sauce, it is a darker sauce probably accented with malassa. Honestly I am surprised it is not more of a restaurant since I know there is a market for American sit down in this area(if you don’t believe me try to get a table in Silverados for a Friday evening meal — although minutes from home we drive elsewhere). They do have a beer and wine license. The space is open and clean and had several large screens as well as a couple of large round tables. I look forward to trying a milkshake. I’m not sure how I feel about beer or wine at paper cup place although will a good Angus burger(or ribs) and a good game on the screen anything is possible.

This place has delicious burgers at affordable prices. The quality of meat and bun is very good. It’s one of the best burgers I had in Northern VA and DC!

Overall, a great value at $ 9 for a hefty, great quality burger and a ton of fries. I’d say on-par or slightly less than BGR. It’s not a fair comparison to Five Guys because Dice Burger offers a better quality meat patty and bun. Price points are slightly different as well. The fries are nearly exactly the same as the fluffy potato, crispy fries that BGR offers, with one difference being that the potato skin is more abundant on these fries than at BGR. The blueberry milkshake is excellent. The owner seems nice, and I think the business is really trying. The location, for some reason, has always been difficult to get a bunch of customers. Downtown Annandale has always been stuck in a mid-to-late nineties fashion and yuppies with disposable income are funneling it into Arlington and DC instead of old-town/yesteryear Annandale.

After driving past this place for months i finally stopped in and was extremely happy with my burger. I had the bbq burger and it hit the spot. It had a nice wood grilled flavor to it and just the right size. Shout out to Eddie at the counter for being friendly. I’ll definitely go back to try other foods. I would have given them 5 stars but the chocolate chip cookie was disappointing

Wide variety of gourmet burgers. I had the one with Spanish sausage(I think) on it. Good stuff. A bit pricey but fast and friendly service and kid friendly.

Two and a half stars… My wife and I just tried Dice Burger. I had the boxcar burger, which was decent, but not quite 5 guys level. The fries were good. My wife had a pulled pork sandwich, which I also tried. I wouldn’t come here for the barbecue; the meat isn’t smoked like a real barbecue place or anything. The Mac and Cheese was like Kraft microwaveable quality. The facilities were clean and the employees were nice. We sat outside and there is a nice patio area with a pergola. It is probably nice out there at night because of the string lights. I’d recommend this place to try once, but there are better places to visit regularly.

I’ve been here twice, wish I’d discovered it earlier. I had the grilled salmon sandwich and had to go back a few days later, it was so good. The sandwich had a large piece of tender salmon, cook medium rare as I requested. Everything was tasty: the house sauce, hearty bun, and fries. Excellent service and a large, clean seating area with tables outside. All for a great price. I’ll definitely go back, it’s hard to find places with good food, excellent service, and affordable prices.

I’ve been driving past this restaurant since it opened and went in for the first time today. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior. There are some cool photos on the walls and the colors are great. You can tell that someone put a ton of themselves into the décor. I ordered the half rack of ribs with slaw and mac and cheese. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and very meaty. The flavor was not bad but really was not great. With some better sauce and a dry rub instead of the sauce it may have been much better. Anyway it was a C effort at best. The Mac and Cheese was not good but the slaw was pretty good. The real disappointment was the burger. Just not great. I expected that with the name of the place being Dice Burger the burger would have been fantastic… alas it was not. In a world where there is 5 guys the bar has been raised and Dice needs to take the food up a notch to be meet that standard. Its sad to say because of how close it is to my house and I like to see people take a chance in business succeed. So much going for them but with a little marketing and some improved menu options the place could be a hidden gem like Honey Pig or Sno Cream. Here’s hoping cause Bronandale could use a good burger joint.

Decent burger and a wide selection of different fare. Beef was tasty and the food was delivered super quick. The restaurant itself is clean and a fun enough place to hang out… maybe sit outside and watch people get busted for speeding on Columbia Pike while having a beer. This location is tough, businesses really seem to struggle in this corridor. I hope they stick around.

Great service, really excellent food too. There are similar type burger places closer to our house, but definitely prefer Dice Burger to its closer competitors. After you get your order, the server gives you a chance to win your next meal by ‘rolling the dice.’ Sadly neither of us were lucky this time. Awesome retro looking décor, and staff was very helpful in answering our food sensitivity questions.

The burger and fries were tasty, the staff was extremely friendly, and the restaurant was clean and cheerful. What stood out was the quality of their beef, the interesting brioche bun, and the crispy deliciousness of their fries. I have a sense this may be a business in trouble, not through any fault of their own but rather an abundance of «more exotic» competition. Perhaps consider taking a break from your wine spritzers, Korean chicken, and empanadas to try something a bit more basic, down to earth, and just plain good. Maybe do it sooner rather than later and perhaps they’ll be around for later as well.

Something must be off about this location, because the restaurants that take over this space never seem to last more than a couple years. I have a feeling Dice Burger will be no exception. It’s the type of restaurant where you order at the counter and wait for your food at the tables. The cashiers were nice, so that’s a plus. It kind of reminds me of a «fancier» Five Guys, except the food isn’t as good. To be honest I’m not a huuuge burger fan, but I tried some of my mom’s and it wasn’t anything special to be honest. I got the Grilled California(basically a grilled chicken sandwich with goat cheese & bacon), and it wasn’t really worth the money either. Our food looked better than other photos on Unilocal have indicated, but to me it’s pretty overpriced for what you get. They recently started serving barbecue according to a huge banner outside, but honestly I’d rather go anywhere else for burgers/bbq.

I have been trying more stuff on the menu and enjoyed a chicken sandwich with avocado and pico tonight that was delicious. We sat on the patio where the owner told us our dog was welcome. He was so nice and even brought her a piece of bacon, which was awesome!

I would REALLY love to contradict the negative reviews, but… So Dice Burger came to town and put some money into a clean, kind of southwest, kind of kitchy décor. Something that the design seems to share with the food is that it lacks substance. THEINSIDE The tables and chairs inside are all new, but they are not very sturdy. Think of the look of Target furniture but with the build quality of Walmart. THEOUTSIDE There is a small but substantial outdoor seating area — which will surely attract some traffic — but it’s not opened up yet. It does appear that, like the furniture inside, there is more show than go with the furnishings and décor here too. THESTAFF They seem friendly, but there wasn’t a lot of interaction. Can’t say anything bad about them THEFOOD Without further ado… here goes the meat of this review: I ordered the Smokehouse BBQ Burger. Nothing unusual with this specialty burger… just as expected, meat, cheese, bacon and barbecue sauce. I got the combo so a healthy portion of fat fries(i.e. — not skinny fries) was included and a fountain drink. After about a five minute wait, my burger comes, cooked to the correct temperature(medium well in my case) and all looks good so far. I taste the fries and they are okay… nothing really special. One thing that I notice when placing the top bun on the burger is that there appears to have very little BBQ sauce. Well, turns out it was barely enough to provide some color as it did not add any flavor to the burger. Along those lines, when I bit into the burger, only the cheese and bacon and red onions had any flavor… the burger meat itself was lost. Not since Burger 7 have I had a burger so flavorless — and, in case you didn’t read that review, I’m NOT a fan. One of their selling points is that they have a wood fired grill. Well, I’ve had spray on flavoring that was stronger than this. Bottom-line on the burger is that they add no seasoning at all before, during or after cooking. I can also see why people said they were pre-prepared, frozen patties. It didn’t take a close examination to see how molded the patties are. The patty was not dry, but seemed to be water soaked before cooking as it was not grease dripping from the burger. The only way I was able to make it edible was to give it an impromptu Au Poivre treatment using a handful of pepper packets and a couple of salt packets. Yes, packets as they had neither grinders nor shakers. INSUMMARY Dice Burger seems to be caught somewhere between a fast food joint and a gourmet burger place. Problem is, they think they are the latter and price accordingly. In reality, it seems almost like they buy all of their food from Costco… and not the top grade or choice cuts. It seems they get mid-grade, pre-packaged foods and they to pass them off as something fancy. They might get away with it if they put some effort into it… like throwing in some extra seasoning… using enough bbq sauce to taste… using premium toppings… beating up the patties a bit so they don’t still look like the molded frozen patties they were minutes before they landed on your plate. On top of that, maybe if they had actual glasses, silverware, salt & pepper shakers/grinders, bottled beverages available, premium sodas on top, sturdy furniture, etc, etc, etc. Basically, the food and environment reminded me of my public high school cafeteria… but without the sturdy chairs and tables. Heck, even a food fight might have made it a better experience! They need to decide what they want to be. If they really want to be a gourmet burger joint, they need to do better than look the part… and they only do that to a point. I really hope they read this review, because I doubt that I will be back. Another review mentioned that their gyro is actually some jerky wrapped in a tortilla. Well, that seems to sum up their approach to food. They have a general idea of what it’s supposed to LOOK like, but no idea at all about what it is supposed to or expected to TASTE like. Maybe they have no tastebuds… or maybe they just don’t care… but whatever the reason, they won’t be around long the way that they are now.
