This is our go-to restaurant for Peking Duck in this area. Consistently good and flavorful. Have tried Peking Duck from Mark’s Duck House and Peking Gourmet and this place beats both. Do try the Sichuan duck. OMG, imagine deep-fried duck, the crunchy skin and layer of melt-in-your-mouth fat and meat. The bacon of duck! Fact: Hubby was there for lunch one day when the restaurant inspector was there. Duck Chang’s received an award for cleanliness and upholding the highest standards for restaurant food prep. The inspector announced it to the restaurant, saying that the award is rarely given out and Duck Chang’s nailed it.

Delicious! Celiac friendly. Gluten free friendly! I had the orange chicken, gluten free style, It tasted amazing and my husband(not celiacs) couldn’t tell it was gluten free. It’s been years since I have been able to enjoy Chinese food and it was such a treat to go somewhere where I could have breaded chicken with yummy sauces! Peter, the owner was very helpful and helped me choose the perfect dinner. My husband order the General Tso’s and he Loved every bite. The service is top notch! l

I’ve never had Peking duck before but I was on the fence about duck since it can be gamey. Their duck was delicious!!! If you’re even considering it stop thinking and just order it, you won’t be sorry. My bf and I shared a half duck and it was a good amount so that we were both full but not stuffed. We also took another half to go since he wants a snack for later :) Skip the tea– the tap water makes it taste funny.

This is a small restaurant, but the service is fantanstic! It is family owned and I felt like I met everyone. My friend and I both got hot and sour soup with half a duck. The peking duck was awesome. I have no complaints with that. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the hot and sour soup. It tasted like there was too much vinegar and was just not to my liking. If it wasn’t for that I would’ve given this place 5 stars. We were checked on by 3 different people and they were just so nice! Both of us came out of there full and satisfied. I highly recommend this place!

We had a whole Peking Duck for lunch, plus a Ma La Yo Soup, and a Kung Pao Chicken. It cost us 80 bucks, exclusive tips. The duck was good, but I would recommend fresher scallion to be served with their duck, as ours was too dry, and tasted like was bought a lone time ago. Kung Pao Chicken is American style, not authentic Chinese food, Ma La Yo Soup is not really a soup, but a small bowl of Boiled Pork in Sichuan Sauce. It’s salty and would be good to eat with rice. Their restaurant seems has operated for a long time without much renovation, dim inside. Not a pleasant dine-in experience, would give them a 5 out of 10, only for their duck.

Love this place. Owned by a nice family as well. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and it never disappoints.

The BEST Peking Duck in town! Chef Peter Chang faithfully and dutifully preserves his Father, Duck Chang’s infamous legacy. From the specially grown scallions, home-made pancakes and Hoisin sauce, to the generously sized, juicy yet crispy ducks, you will absolutely get your money’s worth. I also highly recommend the duck soup. Perfection! Although, I’m but 10 min. away from Peking Gourmet, I gladly drive further to Duck Chang’s as PG cannot hold a quack in comparison to this landmark establishment.

The food was fantastic and the owners were extremely friendly. It was my first time their and the staff was very generous explaining the menu/recommendations. Highly recommend for clean, great tasking Chinese food or Peking duck.

Exceptional service and awesome food. It is definitely more authentic than your typical americanized Chinese food joints. It’s also cheaper than Peking Gourmet Inn in Falls Church. The owner is great and seems to actually care for his customers. Highly recommend this place!

Forty years ago, I had my first Peking duck at Duck Chang’s. It Was absolutely delicious. Over the years, I have dined here from time to time when I’m in the area. Once again yesterday, I was able to dine again, and the Peking duck was as wonderful as always! The interior is still the same, too, but ii is clean and proper. Wish I could give more than five stars.

Best Chinese food I’ve ever had! A little expensive for takeout, but more than worth it. We ordered pork fried rice that was so delicious, Hunan beef that was to die for, and shrimp chow mein which was terrible, but in their defense, the man who took my order warned me. I just didn’t get what he was saying until later. I’ve never had chow mein, and was thinking it was something totally different so not their fault. The dinners came with really good rice and awesome wonton soup. Their eat in menu is way bigger, and they are so helpful with suggestions so I’d definitely eat in next time.

Loved the Peking Duck. The half duck was a very nice portion and could feed two on its own. Throw in soup and another entrée(excellent pork in plum sauce), and we both had lunch for the next day. The stand out part of this meal was the accommodating and friendly service from what seemed to be three generations of Changs. The manager went over his recommendations and engaged my kids in discussing their reading materials. The food came out fast. We even got a demo on how to assemble the duck. On the décor. The restaurant is the definition of a mom and pop shop. If you can’t get over some 80s era décor, you don’t deserve the food and experience.

Came here around 930 pm on a Friday night and they sat us down right away. I haven’t been here for over 7 years! This place looks a bit run down but they had been in business for the longest time. They definitely need some renovations. My boyfriend and I ordered half a duck, some chicken lo mien and egg drop soup which was around 45 bucks in total. The duck has more flavor here than the Peking Gourmet Inn but I would’ve asked for some recommendations for their other dishes. The half a duck actually was very filling. I wish they had cucumbers to go with their duck though. Definitely an authentic restaurant!

The Peking duck here is very very good. I was craving SnoCream Shavery and ended up trying this place for the first time because it’s basically across the street. I’m glad I did. I started with the wonton soup which was very flavorful and came with those fried crisps, which I really enjoyed. We ordered half a duck and Mongolian beef for two people and had leftovers to take home. I was impressed at the quality of the Peking duck and will be returning.

This is a hidden gem of Annandale! Duck Chang’s is my family’s go-to restaurant when we want to celebrate and eat Peking duck. Many places we’ve tried has had dry pancakes or dry/small-portioned duck slices, but this tops it all. We are such regulars that whenever we go, the chef knows to save the duck tails for my dad(the family that owns it is super friendly too and makes great conversation with us). If you try this place out, I recommend getting the Peking duck with the mu shu on the side to add to your roll. This place isn’t located where the main road could see it, so it isn’t usually crowded whenever we go(which is nice because this is a hidden treasure of a restaurant and we enjoy our privacy). Atmosphere is pretty dark with the dimmed lighting, and the tables are set very close to each other, but that’s not that big of a deal since the food makes up for it!

Wonderful lean duck that’s not to fatty. This restaurant was king of the castle twenty years ago serving up the best duck in the area. Competition happened with other duck houses and then this place lost its luster. The décor hasn’t changed since then and the food quality hasn’t gone down either. Great value added since they keep there prices at a very reasonable level. The triple delight and duck(obviously) are a must here.

I come here for one thing– peking duck. My family has been going since it opened. I have only been going for a few years, but it is always good. The duck skin alone is worth going for.

Duck was just as good as Peking Gourmet and more duck pieces. I feel like they carve more of the duck meat off the bone at this restaurant vs. peking gourmet wastes a lot of meat. $ 39 for a whole duck and they give you more wraps too. This restaurant looks more like a take out restaurant rather than fine dining so don’t expect much when you walk in.

I am a die hard Peking Gourmet fan(located in Bailey’s crossroads) but Duck Chang’s is an excellent second choice because of its convenient location and you don’t have to wait hours or need an rsvp a week beforehand. I also appreciate that they have half ducks on the menu because then you can also order something to enjoy without dying of overeating. Their duck is pretty solid here and they have the nice crispness to their skin. The meat was tender and not oily at all. They serve green onions with the duck which seems kind of old because they were really crunchy but whatever it was just onions. We also ordered their general tso’s chicken which you can’t go wrong with. Perfect amount of breading and meat and the sauce was yum. The service is always great here and the lady serving us was so sweet. I also like the huge wall mirror because it makes the restaurant seem less stuffy because of its small size. I wish the lights were a little brighter but all stuff I can overlook for some good duck.

Great Chinese in the K-Town(aka, Annandale)? That’s what I thought the first time we decided we needed a Chinese fix after moving here. Admittedly, we don’t eat Chinese delivery that often and almost never eat it out, but when we needed our first fix we decided to get takeout from here. The food was excellent, but I never got around to reviewing. Yesterday, on a rare kid-free night out, my wife and I were in search of Korean BBQ. However, being that it was a Saturday in Annandale, every place was packed. So in lieu of another place to eat, we decided finally eat in a Duck Chang’s. What fortuitous misfortune! Needless to say the food deserved every bit of the five stars I’m giving and every bit of the great reputation this restaurant has. We started with the flaming appetizer platter. While the wontons spareribs were nothing special, the chicken wings were fresh and flavorful, the shrimp was perfectly fried to still have a light taste, and the egg roll was one of the best I’ve had. For entrees we had the Mongolian Beef and the General Tso’s Chicken. The former was cooked to be almost melt in your mouth tender, with enough sauce to give the beef taste but no drowned it. The General Tso’s Chicken was similar in that it was fried to the point of being done but still tender and the sauce complimented the chicken as opposed to covering up a band product. Finally, for desert we had the taffy bananas. This curious dish involves breading and frying bananas, covering them in a sweet sauce, then dousing them in ice water to make the sauce hard. Both my wife and I were initially scared about losing dental work if when we started to eat it. We ended up by thinking«who needs dental work with something this good». Finally, the service was fantastic. The staff was always there to pour more water and ask if we needed anything. Best of all, they were willing to make recommendations and dissuade us from something that might be better on another day. Next time we will try the Peking Duck for which they are famous.
