Dr. Libre listens well and takes the time to explain diseases. Unfortunately, he misdiagnosed my lung scarring to be something much more serious and I had to wait for more than a month to get the second opinion.

I don’t normally write reviews, but Dr. Libre is so exceptional that I felt compelled to write one for this site. Two years ago, I delivered my second child and hours later was informed that I had lung masses that could be potentially cancerous. Dr. Libre came in over the weekend to meet with me and answer my questions. His bedside manner immediately lowered my anxiety. In the weeks to follow, he was very thorough and explained every step of the process in trying to determine the cause of these masses. Recently, I had a follow-up appointment with him. He met with me at the end of his work day to ensure that he had more than enough time with me. After he met with me, he still had two more patients that he planned to fit into his already long work day — I would imagine that he probably worked two hours past his normal office hours on this particular day. You don’t find doctors these days that are like Dr. Libre. He may be one of the most caring and dedicated practictioners that I have encountered. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a truly exceptional pulmonologist.

My experience with Dr. Libre is limited to the private practice Northern Virginia Pulmonary, but I know he also has privileges at VA Hospital Center and Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Libre is exceptional. He brought my asthma under control 10 years ago and has been monitoring me since then. He truly listens to me and answers all my questions thoughtfully, even if I occasionally ask about non-lung-related medical topics. He takes the time to explain things. He is a friendly person who really cares a lot about his patients. I am thankful that I found him. If this guy is your doctor, you are in good hands.
