Papa John’s Pizza

So disappointed in the pizza today. The delivery took an hour, and (surprise) the pizza was cold. The driver must have stopped off somewhere on his way here. Oh well– so we microwaved it, but that didn’t help — the pizza just tasted awful. Like it was old, or something. The crust was chewy and tough (like old pizza), there was barely any sauce, and so much for the extra cheese I asked for (paid for…).
Ok, so even great places like Papa Johns has the occasional oops. I called, expecting them to make it right. They offered to replace the pizza (supposedly a hot one…) if I would be willing to pay $ 10. That’s right, they suggested that I pay for a replacement pizza to substitute for the crappy one they delivered, cold, and late.
So, this will be my last time ordering from them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but they obviously have so many customers they can afford to give us up. Fine. If our Boboli pizza tastes better than the crap you want to deliver, Braddock Rd Papa Johns, so be it, we’ll make the Boboli for ¼ of the cost.

Very disappointed. Not only do i live down the street but they were late on delivery and last but not least they forgot to cut up my pizza which i spent an extra 5 mins poorly cutting up my pizza with a pair of knives. I hope you guys take this into consideration and step it up before u start ordering from Pizza Hut

Papa Johns pizza is my favorite pizza. I say this as a diehard peperroni and sausage pizza lover, so if you are into other toppings that won’t be as useful to you. It’s not super-​oily like pizza hut and it’s not cardboard pizza like dominos. It seems like it’s more oregano flavored than other pizzas, and I like oregano with tomato salad with how it gives the tart tomatoey taste more richness. Papa Johns recipes are proprietary of course, but from how their pizza tastes, it seems like they differentiate themselves most from other pizzas with their herbs and spices. Part of their motto is «better ingredients», and II think it’s more their herbs and spices than their cheese and bread, the latter or which seems more generic.
My only complaint is the pizzas have gotten drier over the yesrs due to them sometimes skimping on the sauce. I saw that happen with the little caesars that was there before too, so I guess it’s normal after a pizza location solidifies its customer base. This papa johns location is where the little caesars used to be before they moved out and then moved back to little river turnpike and became the low-​budget alternative to papa johns. Whenever I order pizza from papa johns, I tell them to make sure there’s enough sauce because it’s often dry, and when they ask if I want extra sauce, I say no to make sure I’m not charged for any additional topping.
I don’t eat Papa Johns pizza as much as before, but it’s noting to do with them skimping on the sauce, as that’s easy to rectify. Much of the time I got Papa Johns pizza was right after a good workout that made me hungrier and elevated my metabolism. One of those basic things to keep the weight down, especially when you are eating rich food like pizza or having a heavy meal in general. After I was banned out of the blue from the Annandale Golds gym next door, I stopped geting Papa Johns pizza as often. That has nothing to do with Papa Johns, and I rate Papa Johns a 4. I don’t think I can rate them a 5 since it’s more expensive than I would like. They know their pizza is well-​liked and they charge a premium for that.

Ordered a pizza for the family on a Monday night… No garlic sauce. That’s the only reason we picked papa johns over Pizza Hut. Apparently after calling, when you order a pizza you can order some on the side but they no longer come with a pizza. Was told the «special powder» seasoning is served instead. Goodbye to a great relationship.

Good deal on two large pizzas. Really quick lots of cheese. A couple of extra garlic/​butter at very token price. Thanks a lot. I didn’t buy from Papa John’s for a long time because the last place was in Maryland and they were really skimpy even on a day the Redskins scored about 4 touchdowns and won! Anyway this place in Annandale is great. Go there.

the quality at this location really sucks. i’ve given this location enough chances. don’t come to this one.

The food was good the last time I ordered. I was however disappointed that PaPa Johns recently ended a 25-​year relationship with the Coca-​Cola Company to sign an exclusive contract with Pepsi.
I will no longer order from any PaPa John’s just based on the beverage they serve. Coke has a distinct taste; however, I can get a pizza anywhere.
The decision not to return has nothing to do with the food or the service.

Let me start by saying I have been ordering Papa Johns for MANY YEARS.
I don’t know where to begin. I ordered pizza around 9pm. they got the pizza to be in about 40min or so but that was the only thing. I ordered a pizza and wings. I ate the wings first and then when I opened the pizza box i was shocked by what I saw.
My pizza was all messed up in the box and it was cold. I called the store to complain and i was told by the person who answered the phone that my pizza was dropped. When the manager got on the phone he confirmed what the other person had said. I couldn’t believe that they dropped my pizza and still delivered it to me. To top it all off… there were 2 slices missing from the box.
I only give me the single star because they got my order to me in a timely manner and the wings were good.

I have been ordering from this same location for years and it seems like quality has deteriorated a bit. I barely get enough cheese and sauce on my pizzas nowadays, even if I had requested extra cheese and sauce.
