Huge fan of this restaurant. Authentic Korean restaurant known for their stews. This is a home style restaurant with seating for at least 60 tucked at the end of a strip mall in Annandale. Highlights: — Delicious Banachan which include Kimchee and Pickled Radish. — The Soondae Guk is a clear broth soup with korean sausage. Very flavorful. — Dak dori tang is very flavorful but spicy. The spiciness in the soups are real so be prepared for it. — Portions are large and each stew/soup comes with 1 bowl of rice — Homemade Dumplings have a great chewy texture — Parking is in a strip mall. They is parking behind the restaurant too. — We didn’t make a reservation on Saturday night, and were seated quality. Restaurant was about 30% full. — They don’t rush you out like other restaurants in Annandale. We sat there to chat afterwards and it was relaxed.

Update– Don’t eat the dakdori tang, get some gamjatang instead. I am a fan of spicy, so this place did deliver that through the gamjatang. The mandoo is freakin delicious too. It has to be homemade, the filling is so much better than other places in Annandale. I got the kimchi paejon based on other reviews, but that left a LOT to be desired. It’s really thick but not crispy. The texture is not my style. They are opened 24⁄7 on Sat/Sun, but I believe they recently changed it to everyday.

Their portions are big and their prices are fair. They’re also open 24 hours I think. The restaurant is bigger than expected with a good amount of seating, which cuts out the chaotic feeling of some of the smaller places in Annandale. I’ve tried the kalguksu, gamjatang, daktoritang, and soondaeguk, all of which are good! The daktoritang is spicy. FYI — If you go late night, they don’t serve dishes with noodles.

Great great great place. My friends are absolutely addicted to this place and they always want to go here for Korean food. I have to say that I was initially skeptical with the quality of food I’d be receiving because its relatively cheap prices and that it’s a 24⁄7 place. If you are craving that old school Korean style stew, there is no place better in the area than To Soc Chon. Boy was I wrong. I’ve had a variety of stews here and I have never been disappointed. Be warned, the portions are huge! You have to come here when you’re hungry and ready to eat. The Soondaegook is awesome and the kimchi they give you here is so good that it’s a perfect pairing. I wish they’d have more banchan, but I can’t complain. Gamja tang is super spicy, but the Dweji Galbi tang is even spicier and I’ve been suffering the aftereffects for a couple days now(sorry, TMI). TLDR: Great service, great kimchi, open 24⁄7 except on Sunday, some dishes are freaking spicy and you may get BBS(urban dictionary it).

Came here with family for lunch on a Saturday. Lunch special prices didn’t apply on weekends but the prices were reasonable. We ordered soondae combo, dwaegi soup, and gamja tang. Soondae was just okay. It was too dry. The meat in gamja tang was also way too dry that it didn’t come off from the bones. The soup itself had too much red pepper seasoning that hurt my stomach. Overall, Gomtangee’s gamja tang was way better. Their kimchee and ggakduki would’ve been tastier if they weren’t warm. Pros: open 24 hours except for Sundays. Fast service Reasonable prices Cons: Dry meat and dry soondae Too much seasoning I would recommend to someone looking for 24 hour restaurant in Annandale.

Went back recently and the food is still amazing! The service was also great. We had ordered for our friends, but they ended up showing up 15 minutes after their food had come out, so our server offered to warm it up again. She kept asking when they were coming because she was worried the food would get cold. She was very motherly and sweet. Can’t wait to go back.
