My favorite place for drinks, sushi and the atmosphere. More of a young crowd the later it gets for people not looking for that sort of thing but the bartenders and chef really know what they’re doing and the food goes until 1 am.

Time after time, best experience and sushi! Dragon roll is amazing! It’s like an orgasm for my mouth! Beef tenderloin is to die for with those onion frizzles! My favorite drink is the mermaid daiquiri. Hands down my favorite annapolis spot.

I suppose I have to give Tsunami one star because there’s no lower choice available. I don’t go out much but had a free night so I chose to go to Tsunami on West Street. I ordered a martini and the short ribs. After my meal arrived, the owner immediately came up to me after my first bite and asked me how my meal was. I replied that was it wasn’t quite what I expected and perhaps a bit over cooked(it tasted bad too but I didn’t tell him that). It wasn’t that big of a deal to me and I wasn’t about to complain, but since he asked, I gave him my honest feedback thinking he’d appreciate it. Instead, he told me to leave and never come back. Stunned and embarrassed, I simply got up and left. He wouldn’t even let me tip the server, who was very nice. What a bizarre and awful experience.

Best Sushi restaurant in Annapolis! The wait staff are super nice and friendly and provide excellent service. The chef, who is especially easy on the eyes, ;) also provides amazing customer service! I asked for a desert to go and he came out to my table to explain how to reheat it at home. I was really impressed. The food is AMAZING and not expensive at all. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. The music is a touch loud for my taste but that can be easily remedied by sitting outside. :)

I came here with high hopes because the interior is nicely decorated, the host and servers are very friendly, and hip, trendy music plays in the background. However, the food was TERRIBLE and DISGUSTING. And I’m not exaggerating one bit. I’m a foodie, and I love sushi. I’ve eaten it all over the DMV, Boston, NYC, and California. It was happy hour, so all of the sushi rolls were half price. I was excited, so I ordered two rolls: Avocado and Salmon Avocado. I ate one piece of the salmon avocado roll and didn’t notice anything, but on my second piece, it tasted funny. I took the fish out and smelled it. It was spoiled and had a rotten smell. Luckily, I spit it out. Even though I only ate one piece, I worried all night about getting food poisoning. Then I scrolled down through the other Unilocal reviews and saw that other guests mentioned bad sushi(tuna and salmon) and food poisoning… oops. Should have read the reviews prior to coming here!!! My advice: Don’t eat the sushi here. Despite the other good reviews, I can imagine that others have had a similar experience to mine. There are so many better places in Annapolis to have Sushi– Joss, Nano, and Yama Sushi Bar are all excellent. I also ordered the regular ramen. The noodles were spaghetti noodles, not authentic Asian noodles, and the broth was tasteless. There was also a partially cooked egg on top with a runny yoke, which was disgusting. It was the worst ramen I’ve ever had. To top it off, I told our server that my sushi was spoiled and she apologized, but then refused to take it off the check!!! So, I paid $ 30 for basically eating nothing. It was a terrible experience, and I won’t be back, not even for their«great» happy hour prices. There’s no excuse for serving rotten sushi to people.

Tsunami offers just the right mix of music, laughter, and cheer. I had the pleasure of finding this gem over the weekend. The place is easy on the eyes décor wise, simplistic with clean lines. A place you will instantly feel welcome, comfortable, and not in a rush to leave.

My hands down favorite sushi in Anne Arundel county, I guess that doesn’t say much, I’m from Southern Maryland. However, their spicy tuna roll is to die for and isn’t just covered in spicy mayo. I frequent here so often the bouncer recognizes me. ._. I would also recommend the fried rice, its not too heavy and has the right amount of veggies. Downside: if you come here on a slow night you may not be served as quickly.

This is our favorite spot for sushi. They have a nice selection and their spicy tuna is actually spiced with seasoning and not mayo. Our go-to is the chili garlic edamame. It’s always done right with a good amount of spice. I recently had Bibb tacos. They had blacked shrimp and avocado on them. A little bit too much mayo flavor for me but overall they were good. There was a cucumber salad it came with that was really tasty. They have good music, it’s always got a steady crowd and the bartenders are always friendly and welcoming. Good spot for a date or for a group get-together. They have a nice selection of craft cocktails, saki, unique tap beers and wine.

Full disclosure: I only checked in here because of a roving Maker’s Mark event that stopped here during the holidays(yay free sweater for my bottle!). Still, I did pop in for a drink as well, and it was incredible! Possibly the best Manhattan I’ve ever had. The claims was $ 100 bottles of vermouth used to accent the bourbon. Not sure that’s the case, but I’m intrigued enough to try it again. Also, the menu looked very creative and enticing, so I’d like to try eating there someday soon, too. If so, I will be happy to update my review with a more complete experience. It loses a star for the extreme volume and claustrophobic environment, which I don’t see changing even on a slow night. Still not a huge negative, but enough to make it ever-so-slightly uncomfortable at the bar area.

This restaurant is awesome! Clean, spacious restaurant with exceptional friendly staff. Super bowl roll is a must. Huge portions! The owner hosts like we are family. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful meal with your loved ones.

If you’re familiar with the other Annapolis sushi restaurant, Joss, you’ll know that both are extremely great choices for sushi in the area. When it comes to deciding, Tsunami has an energetic atmosphere with loud music playing and a friendly staff. Along with the sushi, my wife and I also ordered the fries which were her favorite thing on the menu now!

I came for a family dinner with my daughters. Our waiter Bryant was attentive and personable. We ordered a ton of sushi about 14 roles and coconut curry soup and the ramen soup. Everything was delicious. My kids form ages 7 – 24 were wowed by the sushi and soup. We followed up with all three deserts that were offered and everyone was amazing. Wonderful experience we will definitely be back!

Stopped in for Happy Hour on a Monday evening. Nice place. Half price on all sushi rolls from 4:30 to 6PM. Half price drafts as well. Decent local selection. Sushi was just ok but at half price, definitely would not complain. If I was back in town, I would hit this place again.

Remember Cheers(where everybody knows your name)? That’s the atmosphere that is fostered at Tsunami. Honestly, the sushi isn’t great. I couldn’t even bring myself to order more than one roll, which is a rarity for me. However, Matt and John at the bar are incredibly welcoming and friendly. They make you want to be a regular. We came for happy hour(killer deals), and I got the Gingercuke Collins(ginger cucumber Tom Collins). It was perfect for a hot day. I’d definitely recommend sitting at the bar when you come.

The shrimp & scallop pot stickers are where it’s at. They give you a good amount and they’re super yummy. The sushi was just okay. Kind of dry, nothing special. The Kovu blueberry drink was delicious!

This is only my second time at Tsunami and I can say that nothing has really changed much. The sushi is just okay in my opinion. Now mind you I am not a full fledge sushi eater as I only eat the sushi that is already cooked. I ordered the white sangria as my drink and it was delicious and infused with apple and cucumber. I also enjoyed the old bay edamame as an app to share as well. I still gave 4 stars as the service and atmosphere were superb!

I previously wrote a five star review for tsunami, but am being forced to change it. Tsunami used to be the best sushi place in Annapolis, but has lost that title. In April, they re made their menu, and removed the only item that I used to go there to eat; the popcorn shrimp. Their popcorn shrimp was the only reason that I would recommend anybody go to tsunami over any other sushi place. Also, their music is consistently too loud, no matter what time of the evening you visit. If they would bring back the popcorn shrimp and turn the music down, they would return to the title of best sushi in Annapolis. Until then, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Sad that I didn’t get to try any of the food here – would love to come back! We came here after dinner and found a spot at the bar. The inside definitely has a modern asian-fusion feel. It was pretty dark, but I really liked the atmosphere. I ordered the blueberry drink(forget the name), and it was so yummy! Fruit drinks always worry me because they can go the medicine-tasting route, but this definitely tasted like fresh blueberries. It was just sweet enough, and the taste wasn’t overpowering. A+. I’d definitely recommend this place to people looking for a classy bar experience!

In Annapolis, I was meeting a friend for dinner. Because I don’t know the area very well, the restaurant picking was entirely up to her. She was craving Sriracha Mac ‘n Cheese and suggested heading over to Tsunami which is a sushi spot that also has plenty of fun American dishes on the menu. When we sat down, we knew already we were ordering the Sriracha Mac ‘n Cheese and let me say, this lived up to the hype. It was insanely creamy with a slow heat that did not overwhelm at all. Even if you’re not a lover of all things Sriracha and spicy, this dish won’t overpower your taste buds. We decided on sharing a few small plates and also went with the Fries. The fries came with a smoked chili aioli. The fries were delicious, but the smoked chili aioli was delicious. The sauce was spicy and the perfect thing to dip the fries into. We also shared an order of Brussel Sprouts. They were topped with thick cut bacon and crisped nicely. Like everything else we ordered, these were also delicious. While the three items we ordered may not compliment each other perfectly, they were all delicious. Next time I’m there I hope to try some of their awesome looking sushi options too.

The edamame, miso soup and salad appetizers were good. Sushi was ok as well. I especially liked the Metropolitan roll but I think there’s plenty of room for improvement. Their prices are comparable for the area and portion size. I still like the sushi and overall experience at Nano and Joss better but Tsunami is a good alternative if you can’t get into the other two or want to try something new. Tsunami is more of a hipster type Asian fusion place to me but they have good specialty sushi and a very good steak according to my buddy who had the sirloin.
