Really neat place with an authentic Western atmosphere! I could totally see a real cowboy belly up to the bar. Don’t pass on the herb buns with red pepper aoli they bring to the table before your meal. They melt in your mouth. Two of us had the grilled shrimp. The black beans and roasted veggies it came with were yummy perfect. Husbo sprung for the Filet.($ 34) Always nervous to order such a spendy steak and be disappointed he asked the server what the best thing on the menu was. She said the Filet. Well of course, it is the most expensive thing. He ordered it and hoped for the best. He said it was amazing and worth every penny! Another in our party had the prime rib sandwich and it was super high quality as well. Everyone was happy! Allie was our server and she was super fun to tease and be teased by. There was a trap door right next to our table in the wood plank flooring. We asked her what was down there. «A cellar where we put the naughty customers.» It really was a cellar but we didn’t qualify for the tour. ;) What a good time! P. S. They have a separate room where they also serve meals family style if you have a big group and want to share.

Food was just ok — also expensive for what it was. Additionally, they messed up our order three times and didn’t cook the kids burger all the way through.

Thanks Unilocal for helping us find this gem hidden in small town AZ. We we’re looking for lunch after visiting the Goldtown Ghost Town and on our way to the Dolly Steamboat. This place was great. Wonderful service and good food. My wife enjoyed the burger, cooked just as she requested. I had the prime rib sandwich, unfortunately the meat was a little dry, but tasted OK. Great sweet potato fries. Recommended!

Great food, prompt and attentive service, and neat western atmosphere. Kind of like having a nice dinner in an old rustic barn. The food portions are HUGE, and everything was made from scratch. Worth the trip!

Honestly, both the food and the service were mediocre. We got a medium rare burger that came out dry and well done, with a completely unapologetic waitress who took forever to bring us a new one. The décor/ambiance was good, though. And the rest of the food in our party was decent.

You’re gonna like it here. You walk in to a gift shop which is cute… something to do if there is a wait. Once you get inti the dining room, the ambiance is nice. The tables are copper and very nice. It feels well furnished especially for being right next to the Superstitions… not that those matter the most. Our waitress was outstanding and very friendly. She was always there when needed. Perhaps the best waitress I have ever had. But the food… OUTSTANDING. I had a pasta dish for $ 12 and it was huge! Very creamy and delicious! I also had a dessert-bread pudding. I usually don’t like getting dessert but I am so glad I did. The bread-pudding was perfect… nice and warm with ice cream… it tasted fantastic. The only complaint I have was the 5-minute wait we had at 6:30PM on a Wednesday night. ;)

Best Steak I ever had! Melted in my mouth. Delicious dinner roll with tasty aoli spread. Our server Sue was awesome. They had a couple of dinner specials that sounded really good but since it was our first visit and heard how great the steaks were, we had to order steaks. I had filet mignon and my husband had ribeye. Next visit we will try something else. Beautiful views of superstition mountain are a plus. We even drove around looking at the beautiful homes after we ate. Definitely a great experience. worth every penny.

We ate at the Dutchman on a Saturday night. Arriving at 7 we were told there would be a 50 minute wait so based on the high review rating we stayed. About 7:50 we were seated, so basically right on time. The friendly waitress came by quickly and took our order, drinks were served quickly and warm bread soon followed. It was about 8 now and the crowd began to thin out. Our food took about a half an hour to be served which seemed odd since the big rush was definitely over. We had steak and it was done just as requested although they were not HOT so I assume they had beef sitting just a bit. At this point we did not get a visit from our waitress again until we were ready to leave. A bit disappointing to say the least. You expect a bit of «how is everything, another drink, how about desert» So to sum up, the wait was understandable, the food tasty but the service fell short. I go out to a nice Restaurant for food and service so I expect both when I do. Since the service fell off I deducted 2 stars.

Great food and service. I really like the beef ribs and took home half of them. My wife had the pork chop and she said it was fantastic. Don the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and did a great job. Chef came out to see if everything was ok We will be back and next time we will come for the diner show

So yummy! I had the pulled pork with sweet potato fries and stole some of the best mashed potatoes ever from my hubby’s plate. Service was super accommodating and friendly. I got an off the menu mimosa and was offered a side of BBQ with the sandwich. In addition to the cozy décor and amazing views, the food was phenomenal! Will definitely be back, just wish they had brunch!

The most amazing pulled pork sandwich. The best I have EVER had. Better than Joes! By far! My SIL’s ordered the prime rib sandwich and were in HEAVEN.

Hearty portions and friendly service are the stars at The Dutchman’s Hideout. While the Mining Camp Restaurant next door is a more casual atmosphere, with benches and paper towels at the table, The Dutchman’s Hideout is a little more upscale, without sacrificing any of the down-home feeling. I came here as a large party with a semi pre-set menu. We had a few options to choose from in our 3 course meal, and I ultimately chose the soup of the day, top sirloin, and crème brûlée. We started our meal with some warm herb rolls. They were soft, and tasted great. I was surprised when the soup(Clam chowder) came out, since it was served in a gigantic bowl that could have been an entrée due to its size! The soup itself was piping hot, filled with large chunks of clam and potato. The top sirloin had a deep, «beefy» flavor from high quality meat, and had a smokey grilled flavor from cooking. I requested it medium, but it came out as more of a medium-well. It came with some buttery smooth mashed potatoes mixed with some cabbage, and grilled corn, both excellent. The dessert was the perfect end to the meal. The crème brûlée had that nice crisp caramelized sugar layer, with creamy custard underneath. I also tried some of the brownie, which was a hefty piece topped with a huge mound of vanilla ice cream. Service was warm and friendly. Overall, a good place to eat if you’re in the AJ area.

Pizza first deliverd burned, then second pizza came out undercooked! After reading the reviews wanted to try this restaurant. Stopped by and thought we would go in for a glass of wine to see what the restaurant was like. Waited in the small bar when a server said she would be right back to take our order. After 15 min of servers coming and going no one asked us if we had been helped or offering to help us until a lady from the gift shop asked if we had been helped. We said no and she immediately got someone to take our order. Then a server said the pizzas were really good so we decided to order. What a nightmare! We have never walked out of a restaurant without eating the food! Obviously didn’t pay for pizza! Gave us a bill for 2 glasses of wine at least we were able to finish that! This was our worst experience ever eating out which prompted me to join Unilocal

Visited last week, first time eating in the off-the-menu Dutchman’s Hideout. Brought visitors from Ohio after visiting Goldfield Ghost Town. We had steaks and burgers, and they were extremely good– we really enjoyed them! Service was nice and polite but a little slow. All and all a very nice experience– and will return.

Real good, mesquite grilled steaks, burgers, chicken ect. in a rustic, yet clean setting. Fair prices, decent selection, the service was excellent. Its only about 7 minutes off of the US60(take the Idaho exit, not Tomahawk). If you want a different atmosphere, give it a try, you wont be disappointed. Only down side is that It is a snowbird mecca

Good food, friendly people. We like the Gold Strike Burger — we get it almost every time. Also try the shrimp appetizer and the bread pudding dessert. Appetizer and dessert, plus a Kiltlifter Beer or two, is sometimes all you need. The only sad thing is, because they are a bit off the beaten track, they will have to close for the summer, until November. We will miss them until then.

Somebody tell the Dutchman that he no longer needs to hide out. This place is the quintessential Arizona that I envisioned as a small kid in Utah. Great western atmosphere with a western menu that is enhanced with some modern garnishes. Well worth the drive.

Dutchman’s Hideout is an addition built within the space available in the Mining Camp Restaurant. They have a very welcoming atmosphere and a very warm décor. Their menu is very good and the prices are excellent. The food is well prepared and worth the trip. They have their own baking facilities so all of the bread products are fresh. The dynamite shrimp is an excellent start and I recommend the bread pudding to finish. Good luck having room for both. For the meals, I have had the burger, the NY strip and the ribs. All are on par with any of these that you can get throughout the valley.
