My annual slip & slide gathering was ruined. Every year I have a huge slip & slide party. Last year I rented the Big Kahuna from another company and everyone loved it. This year it was not available through the other company. Inflate-A-Party had a picture of the same Big Kahuna, so I emailed them about renting that same slide. I asked if they would price match out the door $ 300 what the other people charged me. He agreed and I paid the $ 50 deposit. When he emailed me the invoice it said I owed $ 270 more because of tax. That kinda upset me, because I thought $ 300 out the door was $ 300 total with tax, but I let it slide. I was planning on mowing the yard the day before the event. I understood that they were coming Saturday morning to setup the slide, but I received a phone call saying they had to set up the slide a day earlier at 4:30pm. I told him I could not be home from work till 6pm. He basically said that it would have to be 4:30 the day before or I wouldn’t be able to have a slide. I called and made my wife cancel her plans, so she could be home when they set it up. When they set it up she sent me a pic saying it’s a lot smaller than the Big Kahuna. I could see from the pic that it was not the Big Kahuna, but it was actually the Kahuna Junior. I called, left a voicemail, texted and emailed the owner immediately. He finally emailed me the next day 2 hours before the party saying this was«their» Big Kahuna. It said clearly on the slide Kahuna Junior. I asked if he had the slide that was in the picture on his website and he said«no». After arguing for 2 hours with the owner and realizing he was not going to do anything to fix this situation I called my credit card company and the recommended cancelling my credit card before he could charge it, so I did. Now I have to go through the trouble of setting up all my bills to come out of my new credit card. I called around and got some price quotes for the Kahuna Junior and emailed him and said«Today I called and found another company that rents the Kahuna Junior. They said $ 199 plus tax, so $ 214 total. I feel that is a fair rate to pay you($ 164 more since I already paid $ 50) for this event though I’m still pissed, because it ruined the party because everyone was expecting the Big Kahuna again this year. I feel like I was scammed. I suggest you change the website since it’s advertising a different slide.». He agreed to this, because he really had no other choice, but I would never rent through him again. This was 2 weeks ago and he still has not fixed the picture on his website advertising a slide he does not have.
