This is a «tired» hotel – needs updating, but it *was* clean. Our hairdryer was DOA and we had to convince the desk person it wasn’t «hardwired” – it just plugs into the wall(he said he hadn’t stayed there and was unaware – y’think?). Finally they brought a replacement. Keycard hallway access door #2 was broken and propped open during the day. Several windows screens were shredding or very badly torn. Walls aren’t well soundproofed but we either had very good or no neighbors that eve. Some road crews were there that night and lit off fireworks in the parking lot but it stopped after 9pm. Small but OK breakfast. No pool. When submitting an online reservation, I’d specifically asked for a «back» room(east side) against the trees based on another’s review; when we checked in I asked about it and the clerk shrugged, think she was having a bad day. Anyway, the room was off the parking lot but we were pressed for time and didn’t want to change. Free Wi-Fi worked good but was slow at times. Two Wi-Fi systems – both ID’d as Super8_Appleton popped up; afterwards I wondered if one was a rogue or what, or if they needed two systems for better coverage. Based on other reviews we’d expected this to be a nicer place, it’s just«ok». I think that the rooms would normally be noisy and we were just lucky the night we were there. Price was $ 79.95/night(+ $ 8.68 tax) for a non-smoking king.
