Absolutely one of the best in the business! I am a realtor in the south Bay Area. I met this company when I represented a buyer purchasing a home. We had hired a different foundation company to inspect the foundation issue of the house. The seller in turn brought out Avalon Structural for a 2^nd opinion. The inspection report generated by Avalon was by far more superior than the other company and more cost effective. How can you beat that combination! They were hired to correct the foundation issue and the work was fantastic. Since then, I have never looked back… they are the company of choice for me. They are consistently responsive to my client needs. Their high level of service, professionalism, knowledge and integrity have them top on my list!

Avalon Structural performed a foundation lift on our home and we are extremely happy with the results. Roger and his crew are professional, communicative and great to work with. Since we were new to the foundation repair process, Roger and Gaby explained the process and answered our questions with clarity and sincerity. Once under contract, the work was performed on time and on budget. And when the job was nearly done, the construction areas were graded for drainage and cleaned up. Roger was always available to take my calls and answer any new questions and he also provided milestone status.
Once the foundation work was completed, we were able to relevel the floors and adjust the doors, as previously disclosed as a likely expectation, resulting from the foundation being adjusted back to specification.

I worked with Roger and his crew 10 years ago when I bought a house in Aptos. They were called out by my real estate agent to asses the foundation. They gave me an honest and thorough assessment. I hired them to repair the foundation. The crew was easy to work with, they were on time. They did a great job and cleaned up the job site. I recently needed help with an assessment of new construction that impacted a foundation footing. Roger came out and gave me an honest assessment of the situation and gave me a written recommendation of next steps I might want to take. He also gave me tips on maintaining the areas around each footing and the foundation perimeter. I totally respect Roger’s opinion and assessment. I purchased house this month (Sept, 2014) and hired Richard for our foundation inspection, I contacted couple others and they are taken or asked very high price for only inspection (one of guys who were recommended from next door) ask 400 USD per one crack which is a lot but Richard was very friendly and on time and did honest inspection and they cared what they are doing so, I would recommend them to my friends for sure!

My real estate agent hired this company to do a limited inspection of a property I was interested in buying. The inspection was thorough and revealed some concerns.
The reason I’m deducting stars is because I actually didn’t have a great experience with one of the employees that did the evaluation. However; I’m adding stars for the follow-​up customer service that was provided by the owner when he realized the poor experience.
I respect a company that can recognize an error and strive to amend it.

We had used Avalon previously for another, even larger project, and so we knew right away when our driveway retaining wall failed that we wanted to use them again. This most recent experience with Avalon involved building two long driveway retaining walls and when we received a reasonable bid from Roger Pase, company owner, and started the work, we found the project operations to be absolutely smooth sailing.
Avalon employees are all unbelievably competent, professional, hard workers. They were courteous and kept the job on schedule. As the project progressed, Roger was a champ at communicating clearly and he let us know when any matters came up that needed to be discussed. We highly recommend Avalon Structural to anyone!

We had a few issues with our foundation. We had two horizontal cracks and one part where the folks that did an extension to add a room and upper floor did not add a curb correctly. We had a few different companies give us bids. Price aside, the Avalon guys came through as the most thorough in their analysis and explanation. Richard spent a good couple of hours crawling with me and showing me the places needing repair. He was the only one who found the root cause for the problem — an incorrectly done deck installation on the outside that was hiding exposed rebar, which in turn was soaking up sprinkler water.
After I signed the contract, the Avalon team started and ended the work promptly and as promised and within budget. They even did a couple of things for free, when they discovered those during their work. The work site was clean at the end of the project.
The owner — Roger — did a great job communicating back to me. They kep photos of different stages of the job, and sent me a CD at the end.
To top it all, they came in at the low end of the price quotes others gave — not the lowest, but pretty close.

We bought a fixer-​upper with great potential in 2006. We were in a quandary about what to do about our uneven floors. We tried several contractors, who really just scratched their heads and made bogus estimates. Avalon Structural was recommended by a consulting geologist. Not only was Avalon Structural’s bid reasonable, they got on the project and stayed on it until finished. No missed work days, arrived on time, cleaned up the job. Avalon Structural put in multiple helical anchors, straightened our floors and installed a ridge beam to hold our house together. Professional, expert at what they do. Good people too. Highly recommend Avalon Structural. Avalon Structural saved our house!
