My first time going to this salon and I loved it. Alice K. Is amazing she took me step by step through my consultation we talked about exactly what I wanted so when the day came I knew what to expect.
The day of my haircut and color she reiterated what we went over in the consultation and gave tips on how to take care of the color and how to style it overall it was an awesome experience. Thank you Alice K.

I had my haircut today by Kim, during my lunch break. She did an amazing job! When I got back to work, they all said what a great job she did. My hair felt and looked healthy. Usually I’m not sure what would look good with my hair, so I told her I wanted a few inches cut and side swept bangs. I loved that she made suggestions for me too and they turned out great. She KNOWS her hair. She was very personable and we had a very good conversation. I will definitely come see her again. She’s so nice! Thanks, Kim!

customer service is sorely lacking here. you can easily wait 5 – 10 minutes for anyone to even say hello or acknowledge that you’re there. the girls are much older — higher 40s and early 50s — and the clients tend to be the same. very disappointed and won’t go back.

ALICE is an amazing master stylist here! She always knows exactly how to style and cut my hair, even when I don’t. Always makes my life as easy as possible.

I started coming here and initially asked for Beatriz and she was awesome but then I met Kim and I’ve stuck to her. Kim is an amazing listener and will definitely give you the cut and color that you want and on top of that she has amazing suggestions. Highly recommend Kim (did I mention shes been here 20 yrs and shes a master). Thumbs up Kim.

My mom and I have been to several other salons and they were all pretty much hit or miss. We had been patrons of JC Penny for quite awhile, but hadn’t ever been to the salon before. We finally went in there one day and a stylist named Kim did our hair that day. Such a fantastic experience. She is a color wizard and does fabulous work! I highly recommend asking for Kim if you go here.

My son has had a haircut here twice, and both times it has been a great experience. Let me explain, my son has wavy medium length hair, that seems to be impossible to cut. I have tried so many places, including expensive salons, and it’s always been hit and miss. LORENA is so good, she gets it and she is very patient with him. I would recommend her to ANYONE; in fact I am going to start going to her. =) If she can handle my son’s hair, which is similar to mine, I don’t expect any problems!

1^st of all no one ever called me to remind of our appointment.
2^nd when I got there (5 mins early) no one even asked me if I needed help! I waited for 10 mins & then I had to tell the lady at the counter that we had an appointment. What kind of service is that?
3^rd my daughter had a cut & the lady had me comb my daughter’s hair. Hello… isn’t it her job? And she wasn’t much of a hairdresser.
4^th my son who had the cut the same day (at the same time when I made their appointments one after another so I could concentrate on each of them at a time) had all his hair buzzed off when I said cut & short. When I said short, it didn’t mean buzz it all off! I AM SO UPSET! They ruined his hair!!!
Note: These were 2 different ladies cutting their hair and both incompetent!

The receptionist calls on Sunday to remind me of a Wednesday appointment. She calls, doesn’t leave a message, then hangs up and calls back within 2 minutes leaves a message, then calls back and hangs up. Does she realize her number shows on caller id? This has happened several times. Very irritating. She really needs to learn to use the telephone.
The hair stylist don’t seem to last very long here, I’ve been thru 4 or 5 in the last 2 years they’ve been fired, left for unknown reasons. I wasn’t very satisfied with the last one so I’m looking for a new place.

I have been looking for a hair stylist who listens to what I want and does a great job making it happen.
Today I went to the JC Penney Salon at Santa Anita Mall because I was fed up with other hair stylists in the area and decided that it couldnt get much worse.
I went in at 5:30pm to see if they had any openings for a hair cut. The stylist took me right away, even though she was supposed to be getting off work right then.
I was so impressed with my hair stylist BEATRIZ. She really listened to what I wanted and cut my hair better than I have had it cut any time here in the LA area. The other good thing is that the cut only cost 38 dollars (I have long hair). What a deal. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new stylist. She is top notch!

I’ve visited this salon on 4 occasions now with two different barbers in order to get my haircut, and I’ve never been very satisfied with the cut. My usual salon is the JC Penney Salon in the Brea mall because I consistently get good haircuts there no matter who cuts my hair. For some reason, however, I never get a similar experience at the Arcadia location.
