A hike up to Occidental Peak. This is a fun little hike and part of the Sierra Clubs Hundred Peaks Section. Some kids from Occidental College build a trail up from Mount Wilson and than Supervisor Rush Charlton was so impressed that he named the peak after their school. This is a awesome secluded trail that is not often visited. I felt that I was in a deep Forrest and enjoyed every moment. The trail is a little rough to find at first, but follow the fence at first, then you will pick up a trail. It hugs around the peak and you finally climb the peak at the end. Distance: 2 miles round trip Elevation Gain: 200 ft Hike Time: 1 hour Difficulty: Moderate Trail Condition: Visible trail, but can be tricky.
