For Americanized«Mexican» food, it’s okay. When you’re in the mood for greasy, fatty food… come here! From the pictures, I thought the food would be more filling. It’s probably a good thing that the servings aren’t humongous since those little, skinny fried bean and cheese burritos or tacos must be like thousands of calories.

The lady that serviced me was a wonderful person that is very customer service oriented. Very kind and was able to accommodate my vegetarian lifestyle. Thanks again. Keep up the great work.

Love deep fried burritos? This is the place. Crunch crunch!!! No special menu, just walkup counter taco treats! If you shop at Whole Foods and are careful with your diet, you will still walk away from this place knowing you sacrificed for a good reason. Cheap and good. Order with confidence. Oh, and great counter service??? You bet!

They have the greatest fried bean and cheese burrito on Planet Earth! My wife and I have been enjoying these for years. We have four children who love these burritos! Three of them are in college. Two out of state, and one three and a half hours away by car. When they are in town, one of the first things they have me do is go and get 16 of these big wonderful burritos! I have to make sure and get plenty of the tasty hot sauces also. My son and I have been known to drink the sauces as we eat the burritos. There are different ways to enjoy them. My wife likes to pour the hot sauces into the space that a bite has made and then repeat the process until the burrito is gone. My daughter cuts them into smaller burritos parts that she dips into the hot sauce and enjoys until completion. I’m happy to give Taco treat five stars for their review! They deserve it!

So you see, when it comes to food, there are 2 kinds of D’s. Delicious, and Disgustly delicious. This place, is what I call a borderline between disgusting and delicious. It’s old school, so expect everything DEEPFRIED. The bean and cheese burrito has a special deal on Mondays and Tuesdays, never the less, it’s deliciously/disgusting since it is DEEPFRIED. But well, it’s, CHEAP. The cheese and chips are cheap and cheesy. Ask them to melt the cheese unless you like unmelted cheese on chips, which in my opinion, is pointless eating — extra points on calorie wasting. The bean dip on the other hand is not bad. it’s again, cheap, so why not. Overall, it’s a guilty pleasure of debatablely disgusting and delicious food. After all, it’s tex mex y’all.

$ 2.49 Bean & Cheese Burritos on Mondays and Tuesdays. They’re nothing fancy, but they’re not bad for the money. Make sure you get the hot sauce to go with it, it makes everything better. Plenty of parking in the attached lot, as well as the curb. Service is curt and bereft, but not quite surly. Despite the fast-food nature of this eatery, expect a bit of a line when you arrive. There was always one when I came here.

They have these special bean and cheese burritos that suck. Thought the sauce they provided would have helped. There’s no hope in either. It’s pretty sad. How do you ruin anything that’s fried? But yea, what a waste of room in my belly.

I’ve been coming here since high school. It’s hard to pick a favorite item on the menu, so I order both my faves-the bean and cheese burrito and the green chile burrito, which has a kick to it. Both are deliciously deep fried to golden flakey brown perfection. Be sure to wash it all down with an orange bang! Taquitos are pretty good, the guac is tasty that it comes with. ***Do NOT expect authentic Mexican food from here, if that is what you are looking for, go further south into El Monte or S. El Monte. This is your typical Americanized Mexican food~and it’s DELICIOUS!**

I’ve been coming here for years. The deep fried burrito’s are only 2.49 on monday’s/tuesday’s. The home made hot sauce is really good. Burger specials are 5.99 and they very good and they give PLENTY of food. This is definitely a good place to have a snack. :)

After being disappointed by taco lita’s bland, expensive, flavorless slop I thought I’d try some other gross mid century«Mexican» American places. I’ve known about Taco Threat for years, but have never stopped here. Today I drove past and thought«let’s punish yourself today»… I got the meat and bean burrito, and had them add cheese. I walked back to my truck with the bag, and noticed immediately that it was hot… Already better than taco lita. When I unwrapped my burrito I found, much to my delight, that it was DEEPFRIED!!! HELLYES! The hot sauce, like taco lita’s was mostly bland, but with enough of it you can make your food MILDLY spicy. The burrito was smaller than taco lita, but way cheaper, and more enjoyable to eat. This is how crappy imitation Mexican food SHOULD be done. The only thing taco lita has that taco threat is missing is a restroom… I really wish taco threat had a restroom. Overall, the food is pretty bad, but better than expected. I actually enjoyed eating this. It’s kind of like the«Mexican food» you find in middle America.

Taco Treat had been a mainstay since childhood. No not traditional Mexican food– there’s other places for that, but great comfort food. Can’t go wrong with the bean and cheese burrito and the taquitos are just great. Plenty of parking, cash only and wear your sunblock. — the shade is scarce.

A hidden gem! My friend took me here for an afternoon snack and I was blown away. We ordered the green chile burrito and they were nice enough to cut it in half for us so we could share. The burritos here are fried, giving it that flaky texture when you bite in. The filling was full of flavor and chopped into fine pieces, making it easy to eat. Make sure to get the salsa on the side to dip the burrito in. It adds an extra bit of spice to the burrito and lucky for me was not too spicy! Note: Place is cash only so be sure to have some handy before stopping by here for a treat!

I usually order a bean tostada & a bean & cheese burrito. The bean tostada is filled with lettuce, bean, cheese & tomato. The bean & cheese burrito is long, thin & deep fried. Kind of like a chimichanga. Yum! I have a feeling that they don’t use lard in their refried beans, which is a plus in my opinion. I may be wrong, but regardless, the food is tasty! Every Monday & Tuesdays, they have a bean tostada & bean & cheese burrito for $ 2.50 each. Regardless of the authenticity of Mexican food being served at this place, it has never stopped me or any of their customers coming back for more.

If you are looking for a rival to Taco Lita, move along. Come here for the vintage feel, the Orange Bang, and a die hard fanbase that will arrive in a taxi, a 3-piece suit and with a love of deep-fried bean-cheese burritos. This place has some good old school charm to it. They sell tacos, burritos and chili-cheese fries/chips. The woman at the counter is very fast-paced(even though it took almost 20 minutes to make my taco and burrito) and she seemed short-tempered(a la Lucky Boy old man vibe). I ordered a taco with everything on it(lettuce, tomato, gbeef, onion, cheese) and a Unilocal-famous deep-fried bean cheese burrito. Taco Treat, like Taco Lita, has their own hot sauce. Once again it just didn’t impress me. This place just doesn’t hold it’s value to me the way Taco Lita does. Kristofer’s Bite of the Day: 2 Tacos, Bean Cheese Burrito, Large Orange Bang. **SOFTTACOALERT**

Old school restaurant since 1969. I had to try their deep fried bean and cheese burrito, hard shell tacos, and onion rings. The cashier guy is very patient as my girls are very picky and didn’t know what to order. The heart clogging food was fast food delicious, it hit the spot. We got more than enough food for the four of us for $ 20.

I am LOL’ing at some of the reviews because if you are expecting gourmet Mexican food from a place called Taco Treat, well then… I don’t know what to tell you. That out of the way this place is a guilty pleasure of mine after thrifting next door at Savers. Come on, a FRIED bean and cheese burrito with a large Orange Whip… can you say awesome?! This place is not somewhere you want to be eating every day(cause you will clog an artery) but when you do, get a burrito to eat there and one to go. Eat it later when it’s cold and then come back and thank me. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu but those burritos well hit the spot and you get what you paid for. Two burritos and a medium orange whip will set you back $ 7…that won’t even cover the cost of your #2 large at Jack in the Crack. The place is a small shack of sorts with an ordering window. They have two picnic tables on the side if you want to chill there for a while. Service is generally good and fast. Ample parking. Can’t complain, I love this little hidden gem!
