My wife and I spent over $ 1500 at this store when we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago. We recently went in to purchase a shower head and fixtures. The parts were not able to be used with the current set up we have, so we brought them back. The woman who owns the place” the plumbing queen” insisted that they fit. She told us to call tech support to figure it out. In the end it DIDNOTFIT. We brought the hardware back, and she refused to refund the money. The shower head had a drop of water on it(literally one drop) and she said«I don’t sell used products at my store». She was very rude, and had no interest in resolving the matter in any way. There are other«non recommended comments» that sound like the same situation. My wife and I support local business, but we will NEVER shop or recommend West coast plumbing to anyone.

Based on my experience, they don’t know their stuff. If you need help choosing the right hose or pipe, go to a hardware store instead. Each time I would ask for some part, the man behind the counter would seem confused and unsure of what to give me. I’d get home and find that it didn’t fit. At McKinleyville hardware, I got help from the guy who owns the store, and he knew exactly what part I needed, and explained why.

We moved here and needed to replace a toilet. There are a few places to buy one, however West Coast Plumbing’s staff were very helpful to be sure I made the correct choice for our needs. I’m sure you can find cheaper toilets, but for good quality and very friendly service, I recommend this supply store.

They were so helpful when I found out I was overcharged in MAY and I called them at the end of June to tell them. They corrected the error right away, over the phone. Good service! They even apologized because they got a new credit card machine and it was hard for them to figure it out. I laughed, she laughed. WE buy products from them all thetime. They are small, local and a green company!

I’ve been seeing their tv commercials, so was excited to see what they had for my kitchen remodel project. Made a special trip to Arcata over the weekend to discover they are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Come on — a home improvement/plumbing store closed on weekends? I prefer to support small, local businesses, but there’s no way I will ever be able to buy from them when they’re only open while i’m at work.
