I hate to do this, as the trainers and employees are so personable and skilled, but I can’t not spread my knowledge! After being a member here for about 5mos, I had to eventually cut my losses and leave(loss of money and time, not weight, mind you). If you have an injury, disability, or compromised physical health(including age): This is the place for you! I have observed the super talented and nurturing trainers guide clients like these through personal sessions with a variety of equipment and props. You just have to be able to afford these sessions at $ 75 a pop. A good amount, if not the majority, of the clientele look to be in their 60’s+, but they seem very happy here. Everyone else: So I chose the cheapest membership: $ 99/mo(site currently says the rate is $ 125/mo). Haha! While paying 400% more than I usually do for gym memberships, I only got access to half of their classes(Reformer classes are an additional ~$ 50/mo), and was not allowed to use any of their cardio equipment. Only members who pay for personal training sessions were able to use any equipment under the supervisions of their expensive trainer. During my duration here, I could have bought one of the treadmills that I was not able to use once. The classes did feature really great trainers, but they went at the pace of the slowest/least fit attendee(most of the time someone would beg to make the classes as easy as possible, which is NOT very motivating). And there is only one fitness class(other than yoga) per night offered, which would be cancelled half the time due to lack of participation. Several times the classes would be canceled short of notice, but if YOU canceled, they charge your account $ 10. In conclusion, this was not the place for me at all. For what I could afford, I didn’t get much out of it. However, if you can afford personal trainer sessions, I would recommend exploring your options here, and wiring me some money while you’re at it.

Get a massage from Amanda– you won’t regret it. I feel boneless and relaxed– magic for an aching back and a stressed out brain.

BFL changed my life! I hadn’t worked out regularly in almost 7 years, though I had an LA Fitness membership for the past 5 years…(gulp!). I used to check into LA Fitness, use an elliptical for 30 minutes, walk around the weights & equipment, pretend to stretch, then leave. I attended a few classes, but lost interest pretty quickly as there were so many people jammed into one room it was difficult to follow along. This was boring and embarrassing, and ultimately a total waste of my money and time. I toured BFL this winter and signed up for a free trial class. After one Pilates class I decided to sign up for the monthly unlimited class package, and I haven’t looked back! Since joining I’ve tried TRX, Kettlebell, Yoga, Pilates, Barre Fusion and more! Classes are small, so each one feels like a private training session! This also allows instructors to correct form and give(practically) one on one attention. One great feature is a free phone app that I use to sign up for classes(so handy)! I enjoy the variety of classes so much that I now WANT to work out. If I miss a day at the BFL gym, it is an odd day. This is such a change from my past 7 years of inactivity. I was able to create a healthy habit and look forward to the different classes offered each day/week. I have more energy, feel better, and am so proud of myself for maintaining a regular work out schedule. As much as I want to pat myself on the back… I couldn’t have done any of this without BFL! Thanks Julie and awesome trainers!!! See you tomorrow!

Great masseuses here. Gym is cool for personal training & pilates if you can afford it. Wish they would get more into yoga classes.
