I had a fantastic experience at Range. It was not so much that the equipment was top notch (it was), or that the room sounded great (it did). These are things I think we have a right to expect when paying for a studio to work in. That’s their job. Right or wrong, I take that for granted.
My satisfaction had a lot more to do with the humans I encountered there. I am an experienced recording artist, and have released a number of records, both self-​produced and with outside producers. I can tell you that the folks at Range, starting with Aaron Levinson and including the entire staff are seasoned pros of the highest caliber (special hello and many thanks to Brian and Phil). Not only that, they are quality human beings, dedicated to setting the right mood and making sure the entire process is seamless and stress-​free. They know what to do and say, and when to do and say it. And, most importantly, when to stay out of the way and let the artist express him or herself.
There is no more important factor, in my book, when choosing a studio. Range’s attention to detail and professionalism will ensure that I will be a returning customer soon. And, I felt it was a bargain, considering the wealth of knowledge of the staff, and the quality of the gear they have to offer. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
