Lauterburg – Oehler Funeral Home

This is an unassuming, hypeless, family-​run place. I was impressed. It’s not fancy or grandiose and has that German understatement that you get from old Arlington Heights businesses.

My husband’s grandmothers wake was at Lauterburg & Oehler. They were wonderful. On the day she passed at her home, they came and greeted the family and informed us of everything they would be doing. They also gave us information on what they would need and when the family would like to meet to set up the details. Since they walked in, they were very respectful. Thursday at the wake, we were the only family there. They had made a DVD slide show of pictures that looped while people were paying their respects and talking with one another. The owner, I believe his name is Tim, was very professional and compassionate. He knew he needed to be in control during the whole process. By taking control of everything, he made it possible for the family to grieve without worrying about anything. I know it may seem strange to recommend a funeral home, but I suggest Lauterburg & Oehler. They are top-​notch.
