Arlington Mill Community Center and Senior Center

A long-​needed resource within the local community, the five-​floor community center offers a gymnasium, classrooms, a computer room, a senior room, and a work-​out gym amongst other things.
I mostly spend my time at the gym, located on the 5^th floor of the building. It offers floor to ceiling views looking south and west, arguably some of the best views in this part of the county. The gym, overall, is small, so there may be some waiting time and congestion as there are only three treadmills, two ellipticals, and two bikes. Same goes for weights – there’s limited space and machines. However, for the price, it’s definitely a bargain compared to some other gyms and, during off-​peak hours, the gym is pretty empty.
As for the rest of the center, there always seem to be a lot of events going on, attracting, for better or for worse, local community members and lots and lots of teens and kids during some times of the day. I feel like a total grandpa for saying this, but some of the kids can be a bit… rambunctious, bordering on disrespectful. Not to mention that a free community center does tend to attract some more interesting, «tough» customers of the adult variety (I once saw this guy semi-​threatening two teenagers and talking about his stints in jail… wtf?).

I wish I could give no stars. I was assured by a parking garage employee that I could retrieve my car after hours, although I would have to pay the full daily rate. However, I’m current lot trapped in the parking garage until it opens because the credit card payment machines aren’t working so I can’t pay ticket and can’t get out. The absolute worst.

Brand spanking new! The wooden gym floors are everything. Playing on a new floor is the best feeling ever. I highly encourage people to begin using this facility. It is top of the line. Offers multipurpose rooms, a full court gym, and work out gym on the top floor with large windows. Lots of natural lighting. It also has a full underground garage, which offers up to 4 hours of free parking.
