Delicious breakfast tacos! I wish they were open all day for dinner. The employees are super nice and very knowledgeable about their food. It’s a very casual, friendly setting. I can’t find a single negative thing to say about them!

Best carne guisada tacos! Barbacoa was good, not as greasy as Corpus though. Breakfast tacos were good.

This hole in the wall place is about 3 min from my house and when you are in the mood for homemade corn and flour tortillas it will hit the spot every time! It’s a small place with about 10 tables But enough room not to bump elbows with other folks. The décor is cowboys and Dallas sports which is pretty cool since I’m a cowboy’s fan. When I first moved to Arlington my sister recommended casa Jose, a great little spot to eat with great food and tortillas. Casa Jose is no longer open since it burned down years ago. After the place burned down it closed its doors and years later the owner of casa Jose opened daddy Buelos. Enough with the history lesson… Let’s get to the food! I love their beans because they remind me of my mom’s beans inside a homemade flour tortilla like she used to make me when I was little. The barbacoa is ok but at times it can be dry and in need of a bit of salt. Chips and salsa are not very good but they will do. This place is more for the tex-mex folks than for those looking for the real deal. I only eat breakfast from here and don’t think I will ever order lunch. Let’s talk about service and how hard is to get them to make your food correct the first time. I have been here around 30 times and maybe 1 or 2 times I didn’t have to complain about my food being wrong. At this point I stick to 2 things, barbacoa taco and a bean taco. At the end of the day the food is ok but the service sucks. I keep coming for the tortillas and the beans. I didn’t talk about price much because it’s the average cost, not taco bell cheap but about average for a tex-mex place. Well it’s Sunday morning and I’m on my way to get some tacos! Byeeee…

I have been coming here for over 20 years. Jose is a great man and his food is just as good. His bean and tortilla are the best that I have ever had. The only thing he is missing is a cold margarita. Jose thank you for all the great good you have provided my family and friend over the years.

Unfortunately, my last few experiences at Daddy Buelo’s have been less than awesome. I can still say that I’m a huge fan of their tortillas, chips and salsa, and the affordable menu overall. However, the last time I visited, the atmosphere wasn’t enjoyable. It was around 12PM on a Sunday, and not very busy. The outside of the restaurant was absolutely covered in crickets, and sadly, so was the inside. They were working hard to sweep them up, but they were all over the floor, especially near the walls, crawling by my feet. By the time our chips and salsa were delivered, I decided that I really didn’t want to stay. I politely asked to take my drink to go, paid for my soda, and left. I feel really bad because I know Daddy Buelo’s is trying to remedy the situation. Crickets may be harmless, but if there are that many bugs roaming around inside at your customers’ feet, I don’t think it’s the best idea to be open for business. It’s not exactly appetizing! I hope to come back soon to the old Daddy Buelo’s I knew and loved!

The food was delicious amd probably deserves a 4 star review. The Menudo, Chilaquiles, Chorizo tacos and scrambled eggs with ham were all very good. Everyone cleaned their plate. My only complaints, which is why I can only give it three stars, are that the drinks are served in Styrofoam cups… even the coffee! I like a my coffee in a mug. The other complaint are the crickets. They were everywhere! There’s a cricket infestation outside next to a Cricket store which is humerous. However, I was so nervous about them jumping on my legs or in my hair that I couldn’t get the door open! Have an employee sweep the entry way for goodness sake. Crickets were even inside under my table. Could they be in the kitchen? I’ll be back but not until the crickets are gone.

I usually judge most mexican food joints by the cheese enchiladas, if they have em, and Daddy Buelo’s does, so this review is about lunch I had awhile back. Can’t say anything about other menu items. Looks small from outside, but inside space is maximized. I thought there were plenty of tables. The salsa, or hot sauce, however you want, is good. For you casual salsa eaters it might be too spicy for you, but serious salsa fans should enjoy it. I liked it. Chips were good to. They have a lunch special plate with two enchiladas, rice and beans. Service was okay, it was late lunch, but I can see what other reviewers mean, they go at their own pace. There was only one other table busy when I was there, but the one waitress was busy visiting with them, so much that someone else up front stepped over and took my order. It wasn’t a long wait, but much longer and it would’ve moved into the«annoying» range. Food came out quick. Cheese enchiladas were nice and hot, melted completely inside.(which is how it should be people) I’m always a little bummed when some place serves me a cheese enchilada that the cheese isn’t that melted, WTH man, that’s messed up. Rice and beans were good. Chile sauce on top was good. I asked for onions, and instead of putting them on top, they cook them inside the enchilada. That’s okay, but there were quite a few onions in them, if they had been on top I could’ve raked some off. But not a big deal, still pretty good stuff. Lunch special was $ 6, add tea, and it came out to almost $ 8, plus tip. Not bad at all.

Brought my puppy in to place a to go order. They weren’t very nice about it. I knew that they would probably ask me to go outside, so that was expected. I didn’t get upset about anything until they brought out napkins and told me to clean up my dogs crap. I had puppy bags in my purse and was in the process of it already. Didn’t understand the why it was such a hostile environment. Food was ok. Bad experience overall.

I haven’t eaten anything but breakfast here but that’s all you need. They’ll make any combination you can dream up and fold it in a fresh handmade tortilla. I love the King Tacos and Bacon Bean and Cheese! BEST breakfast tacos in the Metroplex!

Casa Jose is back from the ashes(literally and figuratively) with a place across the street from the old location. If I remember right, that wooden shack was the first place I ever had tripe. Now it’s in a little strip on the southeast corner covered in sports memorabilia. Mostly old Cowboys stuff. The bar in the back has an old time kinda feel to it, but it’s weird sitting in the kinda sterile white room. Either way, if you’re coming to Daddy Buelo’s, you didn’t come for atmosphere. You came for anything that might have tortillas with it. You came for tortillas. The tortillas are amazing and just as I remembered from the abandoned grassy lot across the street. This, in turn, makes the tacos pretty great as well. It’s hard to go wring with anything wrapped in them. The hot sauce is warm and has nice flavor. Makes a great dip for the chips and tortillas. The service is usually very friendly, but you’re running on their schedule, not your own. Sometimes they’re very quick. Many times they really aren’t. Tortillas.

Man, I freaking love this spot! Im kinda mad at my super awesome foody gangsta Unilocal master friend, heather S. for not ever telling me of this place! I mean Ive know her for 7 years and its 5 minutes from our job and we go out for lunch once a week and she just now tells me in 2014!!! sheesh. Anyways, after a night of drinking you must have some good mexican food and some very good and hot salsa. This place has it. The service is so dam slow but theyre all very friendly people in there. I always order some combo plate where I get a taco, enchilada, chalupa and tamale, Gotta have options! The rice and beans are mother scootin beanin bangin! I dont have a clue how one makes rice and beans taste amazing. I mean really? Its rice and beans! But these folks do it! The menu says San Antonio style cooking and iM from SA so maybe thats whY I love it so. I havent found any Mexican place in the DFW that I have totally approved of foodwise til this place. Thanks Heather S!

I went here on a Thursday evening after reading a few reviews on Unilocal. The place was covered all over with cowboys merchandise and the staff was warm and friendly. I got the carne guisada plate with rice and beans and one of their speciality king tacos. The carne guisada plate was average, something you won’t go back for or crave again. The king taco was more like a breakfast taco with bacon and chorizzo. I won’t go back here unless this is the last place left for tacos.

Their back! Formally Casa Jose’s. Food was very good. I had the cheese enchiladas with onions. The chili on top is the best I have found and I have tried a lot. Beans are also very good and the rice is cooked perfectly. I spent under $ 7 with a water. Salsa is good, chips are good but would be better warm. 5 stars because the food is really good texmex. Service was fast and friendly. Glad there back, they will be my go to texmex from now on. Steven

Update on some other menu items: The carne guisada is good, as is the fideo. The rice is decent. The enchiladas and fajitas were just so-so, I probably wouldn’t get them again. For breakfast I’ve pretty much settled on ham & egg tacos with a side of refried beans. Sometimes the tacos are cold though. My MIL ordered the soup with beef and I am going to try that next time. It was a giant bowl of vegetable soup with huge chunks of vegetables and a couple slabs of beef rib in it. The veggies looked great. I didn’t actually taste it though so will have to report back later. I did notice the waitstaff is a little warmer when you speak to them in Spanish.

Breakfast tacos are always great. They have homemeade tortillas which are hard to find. service is slow. So make sure you are not in a hurry. I only eat breakfast here. The few times I have has lunch or dinner items I was extremely disappointed. Thay have tacos down to an art though. It really doesn’t matter what you put in your taco, if they make the tortillas in house its going to be delicious. My go to taco is chorizo, beans, potatoes and cheese. Sometimes I will throw a barbacoa in there to jazz it up. The table salsa is good– but ask for the green and smother your tacos in it.
