Dorian Color Lab

Great place. I take all my film there. I am mot really sure why this place is rated with 4 dollar signs. Sure It is pricy compared to CVS, if they even still do film, but this is a professional Photo Lab and not a CVS. For that matter why not rate every restaurant on Unilocal with 4 dollar signs because they are not as cheep as McDonald’s. You can’t compare the results you get a professional lab with the Kodak machine at a drug store.

Dorian made a series of 8×10 color proof prints from scanned tif files and then printed and mounted a 30×40 display print. They were attentive to what I wanted through the whole process, while offering extremely helpful suggestions at each step of the way. The quality of their printing and mounting is top notch.

It’s next to impossible to find a good, local color lab. The people at Dorian are the best. They are patient, knowledgable, and they do the best work I have seen anywhere in the Boston area. They process all types of film and digital, and can pretty much provide you with whatever size and style of printing you need. Their turnaround times are very reasonable, and, for the quality or work they provide, their prices are certainly fair.

I was doing my photo finals and my due date was tomorrow.
I drove all the way from Boston to here and i told them i need it tomorrow.
The staff said usually the photos will take about 3 days to complete, but they can do their best to give me by either tonight or tomorrow morning. I just think it is so sweet and understanding. The staffs here are super night! and I will definitely recommend anyone who is looking for professional color printing service. They are the right guys!

I started using Dorian at Reese W’s suggestion and have never regretted it. They are polite and courteous and I have never had any issues with their results.

I went in here knowing nothing about photo processing or tweaking digital pictures to make them look pretty. Eric was SO helpful and patient with me, and helped me to decide how big would still look good/​on what should I print/​enlarge 2 photographs. They turned out beautifully (mounted on gatorfoam), and it only took a few days. I don’t know what this stuff normally costs, but I am more than happy with what I paid for such a great end-​result. When I picked up the prints, a very nice man helped me out and was so patient, friendly and helpful.
I will take all my film here from now on, mainly because of the good experience I had with the staff. You should too!

I’ve been taking my slides to Dorian for over a decade and have never once had a negative experience with them. They are all consistently friendly, professional and willing to give advice about all sorts of photographic problems. They are one of the few places left even developing slides and have the fastest turn around time. Thankfully they are still going strong!

Only place I know of in Arlington that does black & white processing. I love walking in here, the smell of photo chemistry reminds me of my darkroom days (not «Dancehall Days,» that amazing song from the 80’s).
They won’t develop a b&w roll into prints, just a contact sheet. At first I was kinda put off by this, but it probably saved me money in the end… this way I will develop only the shots I want and not have my duds laying around my desk at home.
Highly recommended. these guys are pros and nice people to boot.

I love Dorian. I’ve been using their service for over 4 years now and never have any complaints. Marion is awesome and down to earth. They’ve given me great pricing on my processing, and I get all my mounting there. wooho.

I got some slide film developed here, and they were very friendly and professional. I had called around for several places, and decided to try Dorian on a whim. I gave them my film at 12:30pm and it was ready by 4:45PM. The lady at the desk was very helpful and answered all my questions wtihout making me feel rushed. This was crucial to me as I’m to slide film and don’t know all the basics. She asked if I would like the slides numbered, which is a free service they only do on request. I know some places would just not ask you and say that you had to ask them about it.
What more can I say? They’re friendly, and courteous, and on time. That’s about as rave a review as I can give. The prices are competitive, but you are paying for a professional in-​house lab to process your film, so expect it to be higher than going to Walmart or CVS.
Also, they are only open during the week from 8:30AM — 5PM, so if you are looking for a place to drop off film on the weekend, this isn’t the place. However, if you can get there during their open hours, it’s worth it.
