These four stars are based mostly on our server Elijah– what a great kid! So personable, educated, and friendly. He is definitely an asset to the establishment and had he not been there I believe our perception of the place would have varied drastically. I hope he gets the credit he deserves!

Great food, great service, and they keep it quick. Highly recommend lunch or dinner. Fajitas and the fajitas nachos are both excellent. Margaritas… Get the ultimate.

We decide to stop since we been seeing they have half price fajitas for two on every Tuesday. If u don’t know anything about me I Love Salsa the hotter the better, but this was the first time I pushed salsa away from me it didn’t taste like anything just bland. Speaking about being bland the fajitas were as well, the steak was tender but no seasoning and looked like ground steak meat. Kenda was great she recommended a really good margarita you see I posted that lol Ill be back for drinks they were pretty good and I want to try their brownie sundae. Food never again.

You cannot beat Wednesday special at El Chico’s of 2 cheese enchiladas for 5.99. They are very tasty and the beans and rice that come with the meal are also good. You can get a beef enchilada if you like. They severe the food hot and fresh. And add a frozen margarita. This location has been around for a long time in Arlington. The service is always good and there is a lady that is the hostess. She is great very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is not very busy on Wednesday so you can get a seat right away. Same décor as always may need an update they are getting a little dated. I only go for the Wednesday special but the other food looks good in the menu. And they put coupons out if you like to save money.

Well, it has been 20 years since I have been to an El Chico and it is just like I remember. Good for the price. Fast service. Chips and hot sauce were good

We absolutely loved our visit to El Chico’s. Took my hubby to Dallas to see his favorite football team(…yes, Dem Boyz). We flew in on a Saturday morning and went directly from the airport to a rally day at the Stadium. Once the rally day was over, about 1 pm we were FAMISHED! Starving and didn’t know where to eat. Unilocal recommended El Chico’s and we headed straight there. Less than 5 minutes from the stadium and we were parked and walking into their front door and that is where the fun started. The hostess, an older Hispanic woman, greeted us at the door like she was welcoming us into her home. I was a little confused at first because I was thinking… I must know her from somewhere because she is talking to me like she knows me… LOL! Anyway… I let my guard down and it really did feel like family. They had two parties going on so we were seated at a booth in the bar area and were served by the bartender, Bobbi(I think). Bobbi was just as pleasant and fun as the hostess. We were served promptly. The beer was good and cold, the mugs were super frosty and the food was hot and delicious. We were served our chips and salsa and we also got a cup of queso. The chips were fresh and warm and the dips were great. The hostess recommended the fajitas, which my hubby got and I was super jealous. It was a HUGE portion and it smelled and tasted delicious. His portion was so large… he ate his fill, I had a taste or two and we still both had some later from the leftovers. I got the mushroom pepper chicken. This was also a huge portion and the flavors were amazing. I was so stuffed but I could not stop eating it. I had no leftovers… LOL! This was a great experience and we will be going back the next time these Marylanders head back to Arlington and the AT&T Stadium!

One simple tip: don’t come here. Food is okay. However, service is as bad as you can imagine. We waited 30 mins to order. And then waited 1 hour for our chips and salsa, and it finally came after our meal was served. The manager was super mean. It’s amazing this place is still here.

Elijah, my waiter was very courteous and his sweetness alone is worth the 5 stars. He was wonderful, but I felt bad for him, it seemed the seating hostess, an older Hispanic woman sure seemed to be running him around and seemed bossy. My review is based on the Wednesday lunch special of 2 cheese enchiladas with rice and beans for $ 4.99! I was asked for a booth or table and chose booth as I didn’t want to sit at a table with booths on either side with customers watching me eat. The salsa was ok, had the right amount of heat and wasn’t too spicy at all, and although the chips were cold and should’ve been warm, were crispy and good. I ordered sour cream sauce for my enchiladas and rice instead of beans. The sweet tea was delicious and hit the spot! The food was good. Overall, I give it 3 stars. I was most impressed by my waiter and would ask for him when I return, and yes I would be back.

I’m not sure what the worst part was– the service, the food or the dirty plates. Went on a Saturday evening, wasn’t crowded at all. Took at least 10 min for someone to come to ask for drink orders and another 20 before anyone came back to ask for food orders. When the food finally came out, you could tell it had been under the heat lamps for a bit. Didn’t have high expectations going in but definitely expected better than that.

Average Mexican food. Pretty pricey too. The food was not that great. Nothing worth coming back for. Service was good though.

First time going to El Chico. We were hungry so we decided hey why not! There was literally no customers which automatically makes you think oh no their food sucks, but we did go in he middle of the day(around 3pm). The food was GREAT! The employees were super nice and quick with serving us our orders. Definitely going back here.

The place looks a little outdated and dusty. Margarita had barely any tequila in it. I ordered Topshelf fajitas, they come with ribs and I did not like that they were just plopped on top of the other meats and got barbecue sauce all over the shrimp. Should have been placed on a side plate.

North Arlington has plenty of Tex-Mex options, but most of them are ho-hum(poor service, or bland food, or overpriced). We hadn’t been to this El Chico for dinner in more than 10 years when we decided to try it this week. Glad we did! The hostess greeted us immediately and asked if we wanted to sit in the bar area or a booth in the dining room. We chose the latter. It was 10 minutes till 7:00 so happy hour was still on. We ordered frozen margaritas — very good deal for $ 3 each. For dinner we selected the combo meal for two — one appetizer to share, plus a choice of two dinner items each(taco, enchilada, etc.) and a dessert to share. This was quite tasty and worth the $ 19. The«old-fashioned» taco, honestly, was one of the best tacos I’ve ever had at any Mexican restaurant. Excellent food, great service. Other diners in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their evening, too. We’ll be back!

I had a wonderful experience at lunch recently when I stopped in. Service was quick and I never lacked for anything. El Chico’s has a wonderful selection of lunch entrees and they’re served QUICK which is so important when you’ve got limited time.

This place was a great Tex-Mex place to eat but this location has gone down hill, the food is still good but the service is bad so we changed locations.

Lunch today at El Chico in Arlington. Had a brisket and a fish taco with black beans. A little surf and turf Mexican Style? Tacos were great! Reminded me of eating street tacos in Guadalajara. Plus the black beans were a great change from Refried beans. Server, Erica, was prompt, polite and professional. I will ask for her again. Two thumbs up today!

The food and the service are always good. The restaurant is clean but it smells stale, really stale. It’s in serious need of an update. But the Tuesday night special is a great deal. They will still bring out hot relish(pickled carrots, onion and jalapeño) like you used to find always on the table at every Mexican restaurant. We get there about once a month for the fajita special and hold our nose. Hope they read this and get the hint. Just a fresh coat of paint and remove the carpet and it’ll be all good.

We have lived in North Arlington for a while, and have never tried this place. I have honestly never eaten at ANY El Chico, so we decided to give it a try. My husband loves any Mexican cuisine, so it was a no-brainer. The ambience is a little strange(old love songs playing, and it doesn’t resemble a Mexican restaurant). The food was actually pretty good and service was even better. I would highly recommend their enchiladas and finish it off with fried ice cream. Food was delivered fast and hot — in all a pretty good experience! If you haven’t been here, give it a try. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Came here late to eat. We wanted to go to that Antonio across but it seemed weird. Anyways, we came late. There was one other table occupied which seemed weird considering it was Saturday evening 8pm. Our server was superfast, and our order came really fast and it was really good. I was really surprised how good considering how fast it was and how inexpensive. I had the burrito your way, $ 7.99 and OMG good. Not was orgasmic as my favorite place back home in Las Vegas but OMG good. The house margarita was a bit weak, good though but weak. All in all, i would come back. Probably more during the week for cheaper options.
