Green Oaks Nursing And Rehabilitation

I went on the site to find find Green Oaks Health and Rehabiltation, because that is what their business card says, but I was not able to find them by that name. Looking more closely at the business card I xcould see that the words Senior Care is in a very small font. I knew that I had found them because the address was the same.
So, Unilocal people you need to correct the business name by including Senior Care in front of the name Green Oaks.
We chose this facility because the social worker at the hospital recommended it and 2 other nursing homes, but the other 2 were very old and run down looking, and Green Oaks does look very nice. And Pam, the lady at the front desk was super friendly.
The first night we arrived they did not provide a private room, which they promised. The bed in my mother’s room is a small twin size bed with what seems like a thin plastic mattress (my mother is tall and 190lbs).
After she was settled in and the EMS people left, so did the night nurse, no one really gave us a warm welcome. Someone came in to help my mother’s room mate but didn’t acknowledge us nor introduce herself or ask if we needed anything, like water for my mom who just arrived.
The next morning I shared with Pam our first night experience, and that we were concerned that maybe we chose the wrong rehab facility for my mother, and that we were going to look at other options. She was very apologetic, and so was the rest of the staff.
They transferred my mother into her own room that day, and have been very accommodating. I assured them that we are not complainers or difficult to please, but we’re concerned because the first night there did not go well.
We did visit another facility that was given a 5 star rating on the Medicare website, plus an award for best nursing home, but it was extremely depressing. So, I’ve learned not to give too much credit to a five star rating when it comes to nursing/​rehab facilities. You need to go and check them out and ask residents what they think.
We have decided that we will stay with Senior Care Green Oaks Health and Rehabilitation for now. I am giving them 3 stars because the beds are old, and it is too soon to rate them on care, but it is one of the nicest facilities in the area, it’s just not home.
