Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas-Arlington-South

This was my second Hampton stay within the last two months. First was in Manhattan, NYC, then in Arlington, TX. I was surprised to find a somewhat dirty room with ripped furniture and missing bed sheets. The carpet was on the filthy side. Even though the room was much bigger in TX, quality was lacking. The only positive memory was the check-​in staff (Ms. Hope Mattox) who was extremely professional and friendly/​helpful even at 3 o’clk in the morning as our flight was 4 hrs delayed. It went downhill from there. In comparison to NYC, even with a much smaller room and much more expensive, I would definitely pick the smaller, more expensive and cleaner room anytime.

The service desk lady on the night shift was really nice. She told us about the breakfast hours, checkout time, and wifi login info without us needing to ask. The location is really great. The room was not the best nor was it well-​insulated as far as noise but for the price we got it for, I would definitely be back. Their hot breakfast was nice, too. The beds were comfortable in my opinion and they had plenty of pillows set on the bed. The bathroom was pretty spacious and the water pressure in the shower was good.
Although I leave a positive review …
I really would have to mention one more time that the sound insulation here is REALLY terrible, though. We could hear people stomping around upstairs, the next-​door neighbors talking and laughing, and even all the people in the hallway passing by. If you are a light sleeper then you really need to keep this in mind before booking this place.

Good:
— Value for what you get. We paid $ 100 for two queens. The room was large, comfortable and, for the most part, clean.
— Room included minifridge and microwave.
— Free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby.
— The free breakfast was pretty good. Hot dishes included premade omelets, sausages and potatoes, bagels, danishes, fresh fruit, waffles, yogurt, cereal. The eggs were actually pretty good and I went back for seconds. The oatmeal was out, unfortunately, and the second wafflemaker was broken.
— Beds were pretty good for the price.
— Convenient location.
Bad:
— NO sound insulation. When people walk through the hallway it sounds like they are talking right next to your face. Same goes for any activity happening on the floor above you as the floors seem hollow.
BRING EARPLUGS.
— Some of the room furnishings are a bit cheap or worn.
— Room cleanliness was overlooked in several places.
— Fitness room is extremely minimal with one treadmill, one ellipitical, one bike, and weights. NOT as shown in photos.
Would I stay here again? Probably, yes, if the pricing remains the same.

The district manager contacted me via email, only after I went on the website to submit my complaint. She made great efforts in compensating me for this annoying inconvenience. Thank you for making this situation right.

Great hotel stayed for four nights one thing please make the breakfast more diffrent because after 3 days we got the same breakfast as the first 2 days but rooms are super and the people who worked there were super nice and helpfull

Drove 6 hours and they made me wait in lobby for another 30 minutes as they verified credit card info. Seriously? Shouldn’t this have been taken care of before I arrived? Completely dissatisfied.

I’ve enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly. The area was nice and quiet. They offer free breakfast every day and a manager’s reception on certain days.
The breakfast isn’t the best I’ve ever had: they offer cereal, oatmeal, sausage, powdered eggs, biscuits with gravy, bananas, apples, muffins, danishes and bagels. I think the sausage was microwaved, since it wasn’t browned, but my toasted bagel was fabulous. And there’s a wonderful coffee & tea place (Mochalux) around the corner. Hey, what more could you ask from a free breakfast?
I would recommend this hotel.

We live in the area and had a little staycation. Had a great relaxing time! Awesome beds. Got some much needed sleep. Breakfast was awesome. Provided hot and cold items and was pretty good. Very clean and very nice staff.

My coworkers and I had to work out of this hotel for training purposes and it was absolutely amazing. The staff all had top notch customer service. The lobby and breakfast area were spotless. It almost had a resort style, it was so plush. Was very pleased. If I am ever in this neighborhood again, I know where I can stay!

Friendly hotel staff. Clean rooms and common areas. Easy to book shuttles.
I was coming into the area for a conference and expected a large group. The hotel was extremely accommodating when some of them misbooked rooms! Tanwa at the. Front desk got everything arranged for the out of luck group and got them settled and off to bed!
