Anytime I need to buy trees, shrubs, or perennials, I head to the Stockyard. They are a huge nursery with quality plants, great prices, and wonderful service. I’ve been to all the nurseries in town, and they are by far the best. Be sure and ask for Mike unless you know exactly what you want. I rarely do. I always tell Mike what plant I’m thinking of, where I intend to plant it(shade, full sun, etc.), and what it is being used for(screen, specimen, hedge, etc.), he will let me know if that plant will work. If not, he’ll recommend a better choice. He’s an awesome adviser. Also if you want to find out if certain plants are available before you make the drive, they will check their stock for you.

When the tree in our front yard decided that it was done with this world, we, as new home owners, weren’t really certain where to purchase a nice new tree that looked healthy and not iffy. Thankfully, we were able to go to the Stockyard, and, with the help of a great staff, we were able to pick out a beautiful, healthy plum tree at a reasonable price, and we set up a delivery and planting for that week. They sent a contractor who arrived on time and did a great job planting the tree. And, thankfully, the tree has stayed healthy and is growing well. I’d highly recommend them — they carry an array of trees and plants.
