I am obsessed with La Victoria! It’s a great place to get a cheap and quick meal. I’ve tried 3 different meals from here so far and have enjoyed them all: the tacos, a torta, and the chicken plate. I’ve also gotten chips with guac/salsa, which are pretty good as well. La Victoria is a great alternative to Chipotle or Anna’s – has way more taste and a better variety. I can’t wait to go back and try the burrito next.

Sorry Boston, but this place is so much better than Anna’s.

I am so happy that they have opened the location in Arlington Center. Everything about the food there is just awesome. If you are a fan of Tecoch in Medford then you will love what they have here. I’m a huge fan of the tortas, especially the Choriqueso. The burritos are also fabulous, I recommend the steak. Anna’s has better carnitas, but it isn’t bad here. Friendly quick service.

This was our first time trying La Victoria on the suggestion of some friends. We ordered 4 dishes: La Victoria torta which was good, the fish tacos which were just ok.(The tortillas were great but that’s about it.) However, the rice was so undercooked, it ruined our other two orders which consisted of a carne asada burrito and a chile verde plate. There was a crunch with every bite. The rice was so raw, at one point I thought I bit into a rock. Lol! No cracked tooth but was completely turned off so I could not eat the rest of the plate. Also, the pork was too salty for my taste. So if you carry a low sodium diet, I would suggest staying away from the green chile pork. As for the burrito, it comes with rice and again, the rice grains were raw. Left about 70% of the burrito untouched. Will not be returning which is unfortunate. Drove quite a distance to try this place and it disappointed us. We did not complain. It was our first time here, maybe they had a bad rice day, not sure. We just threw our food out and left. Just a suggestion to the cooks here, try your rice before you serve it.

The tacos, OHTHETACOS. A delicious delight. I actually usually send my husband here to do take out and say«pick 3» and have him come back with a mix of tacos. My favorite is a pork variety with guac. Meats are juicy and the double taco is needed to catch the sauciness of the taco fillings. I think the guacamole is amongst the best east coast varietal I have eaten. So delightful. The restaurant itself has a small seating area, it’s difficult to navigate with any extras(strollers, shopping bags), but since it’s a fast food joint, space opens quickly if you want a seat. When I have gone in person it has been very clean. Why only 4 stars? The meat sometimes lays a little heavy in my stomach and I have had some misses — a ground beef based taco of some kind(my mystery taco ordering strategy occasionally backfires). Nothing can beat the value though, cheap eats at its finest in Arlington. I definitely recommend it for those looking for a quick, tasty and satisfying bit while in Arlington Center.

Went here before a show in the theater across the street. This place is essentially cheap fast food, nothing special, but filling. Both of us(we ate the same thing) had stomach issues later that night — «hard» pit(food sat like lead in our stomachs). The person taking our order(young female, dark hair, slight accent) was vocally disdainful of the fact that we both wanted the«plain» chicken on our burritos instead of the seasoned chicken(not knowing what to expect and not being fans of very spicy food, we opted with plain rather than have something that we couldn’t eat for our first try). Wanted to say«Sweetie — if I wanted your blessing on my choices, I’d ask for it. otherwise ST…» well, you get the point, right?

Definitely enjoyable, as long as you order the right thing. The burritos just aren’t satisfying. The roll is too loose for my tastes and the ingredients just fall a bit short. The tacos are tasty, well seasoned and satisfying. There should be more of a variety though, not all the tacos are a hit. However the tortas really shine. The victoria torta is definitely one of the tastier things you can have for lunch in Arlington. The bread is delicious, the meat is seasoned terrifically, the cheese is melty and delicious. Speaking of cheese, the choriqueso torta has an insane amount of it. The chorizo is nice and fatty and goes well with the cheese. Overall, it’s nice to have this place in Arlington. It’s a great go-to for lunch. It’s just unfortunate that the burritos aren’t as satisfying as they should be and the tacos are just OK. If you are used to big chain taquerias, you’ll absolutely love La Victoria Taqueria as it’s a huge step up from those places. If you are more accustomed to the smaller local restaurants(or even the smaller local chains) then you’ll be sorely disappointed as it simply just isn’t as good in just about every department. But go in with an open mind and you’ll find something to enjoy about this place.

Rustic taco place conveniently located in Arlington Center. Clean, friendly, fresh ingredients. My personal favorite is the quesadilla(with barbacoa, lengua, carnitas or other options) with pico and guacamole. The quesadilla is not served in the standard tex-mex triangle, but as a roll, and therefore stays hot longer. Also decent burritos/bowls and of course Mexican sodas — yeah! Reliable lunch and dinner go-to for me. Definitely recommend.

Good tacos and cheap. Tortas are very good too. Not as good as Taco Loco but it’s closer to me so I come here more often.

This place is quick, simple, and excellent. The menu is simple and on the small side but fantastic and I am not kidding when I say these are the BEST fish tacos I have ever had. The fish was great and the sauce was amazing! squeeze some lime juice on it and it’s food heaven It’s a bit small which means it’s not the best for groups but it is great to sit down with a friend and get a quick meal.

I am updating this review on behalf of my wife. We are regulars here and cater from La Victoria’s from time to time. My wife and I like the food and have been huge fans of this place since it opened. However, my wife had a terrible experience with them today. She tried catering food from them and called a few days in advance. The worker said she would receive a call back from the manager but no one called. So she called the next day, put in a non-catered but larger order and the worker assured her the food would be ready by 11:00am the next day. My wife triple checked because she really needed it by 11am for an event. Long story short the food was not ready until 11:30am. Normally this would not be an issue but she was on a strict timeline. Also she is 9 months pregnant, had our son(a toddler) with her, and to make things worse she received a parking ticket because she thought that she would be in an out and only paid for 10 minutes. They could have called to let her in advance to let her know that they were running behind, they could have updated her when she got there, they could have helped her take the food to the car, or they could have apologized but they did nothing. We still like the food but the service is severely lacking.

Excellent Taqueria. Pretty much the only place I’ll eat in Arlington. Barbacoa was the highlight, Carnitas & Chorizo were both good and Red loved the Chicken Tacos. Need to get back here.

As of now(and I’ve only been here in the Arlington area for 3 weeks), this is the best place for Mexican food. By no means is this the best I’ve ever eaten as I am a Southern California girl, but it’s pretty tasty. I’ve only gotten to try the tacos, but they were great. They average about $ 3 – 4 per taco and have the authentic toppings: salsa, onions, like, cilantro, radish. I tried the fish, carne asada, and al pastor. Both the pastor and fish were delicious, but the asada was a little tough. I will be back to try the rest of the menu!

The tortas are delicious. Fluffy(but not too fluffy!) bread gives way to tender meat, bean purée, chipotle mayo, avocado, queso, and crunchy jalapenos, lettuce, and onions. Flavorful, wonderfully textured, and it costs less than $ 7! The tacos are pretty good; a little too oily for my taste. The corn tortillas they are made with are very good though — toothsome and not dry! I do wish the lighting inside were a bit brighter; we almost thought it was closed!

There are many many taquerias in and around Boston, east Boston, Chelsea, Everett, revere, Somerville, cambridge. La Victoria brings a new game to town and succeeds. Small and located on a side street in Arlington center, the service is friendly, the digs are clean and the food is some of the best to be had in greater Boston. This is the owners second shop — the first is in Beverly. A simple menu offers burritos($ 5.50), quesadillas($ 4.95), tacos($ 2.85) Plato Mexicano($ 5.95), salads and the Tortas($ 6.50). This particular trip involved a Taco Surtido — that is a piping hot corn meal taco loaded with pork skin and meat. Juicy, tender, crisp. The luscious pork is mixed with crisp craklins. The chopped onion and cilantro is topped with a green salsa blended smooth. Victoria Taco, the name sake, is a griddled telera bun stuffed with pork carnitas, smoked ham, avocado, queso Oaxaca, chipotle mayo, jalapeños and tomatoes. This is possibly the best sandwich in Boston. Separate flavor layers mix smoothly. Crisp jalapeños, fresh tomatoes, thin layers of ham, thick layer of queso shreds, a kick from the chipotle. Juicy, fatty, smooth, spicy. This is a sandwich with which not to be trifled. Go get one.

Yes!!! Good Mexican food comes to Arlington center! The husband and I are so happy that La Victoria Taqueria opened within walking distance, we’ve been here 3 – 4 times since it opened. Some thoughts: — Tacos seem a bit pricy at 2.85/pop. It will never beat taqueria el amigo in my books, but still delicious and sometimes a girl just doesn’t want to drive all the way to Waltham for some tacos, you know? — The plato mexicano is great value at $ 6. I always get this now. The husband is a fan of the tortas and vouches for them. — If we walk/drive by and there’s a long line, we just skip it and go somewhere else. The place is tiny and can get super crowded, and it gets kind of slow when it’s that crowded. Anyway, yay for la victoria! It’s more of a 4.5 star place, but I rounded it up since I want them to do well. All we need now is a fried chicken place in Arlington center, then my life is complete. =P

What I always wanted in Arlington; cheap, fast, delicious Mexican food. La Victoria Taqueria has a serious Mexican street food menu with some modern twists. Their torta(I had the La Victoria) was my favorite item, for $ 6.50 it was packed neatly with all types of delicious fresh fillings and pressed to perfection. This was easily a lunch by itself. The chipotle mayo provided a nice kick to give the sandwich some bite. Their tacos are serious too, we tried the steak which was higher quality than Chipotle and had a better grill flavor. The salsa on the steak taco was great. While I was very happy with the food the service was a bit of a miss late at night. A smile goes a long way. As others have mentioned I too was really disappointed when they didn’t really serve tap water. They said they didn’t really offer it but could give me a cup the size of a urine sample(showed with their hands). No thanks, one sip of water isn’t going to wash down the salty goodness of your food. I didn’t find out how much the bottled water was but it was off putting to not have tap water as an option when every other place does. Next time I’ll bring my own bottled water. I’ll definitely be back for the food which is really good at a good value.
