My mother and I stopped in Luby’s on the way home for a little supper and though the place had nearly NO CLEARED TABLES, we understood the fact they had just had a huge dinner rush. Help was scurrying around to get the tables cleared, but management could expedite with wheeled carts to clear tables! It is ludicrous NOT to have wheeled carts in a place this size. The chicken fried steak was a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10!!! We thought the help was very pleasant, welcoming and accommodating. We had been planning to dine there since moving to Texas, and so glad we finally did. It was especially delicious and our check out clerk, serving clerk and (Leon?) – a lovely young man was most accommodating. We’ll definitely be back!!!

This four stars is entirely subjective because I’ve been eating the same meal here my entire life, and I still love it. I’ve tried and failed to replicate Luby’s mac and cheese. It can’t be done. Even with the recipe in the Luby’s cookbook.
Luby’s is a cafeteria, but not the kind where you serve yourself and pig out. It’s the kind where the food is hot, yummy, and protected from public contamination. Haha. I always get the LuAnn platter which is half the portion of meat on a regular entrée. I get fried fish or roasted chicken depending on my mood, followed by fried okra and the mac and cheese that evades me in my own kitchen. I get the delicious white roll, too. And sometimes chocolate pie. And I eat every bite. For real.
I’ve never had a bad meal or been sick from eating at Luby’s. It’s the opposite, really. I come here for comfort food. Plus, it’s one place that my grandparents and I agree upon! This location is clean and the staff are sweet.

The food was fantastic! I thought the employees were very friendly, and they all tried so hard to make you happy! The manager, Jared, was probably the hardest worker I’ve ever seen. I will be back! This place has really gotten great nice!
