Not really impressed and I’m a huge Tex-Mex fan. First the food came out warm. I ordered Shrimp enchiladas and my mother ordered shrimp fajitas. First of all, I knew something was wrong when her food came out and I heard NO sizzling. First time ever in my life that has happened. My mom ended up sending it back because at this point the shrimp was dry. As for my enchiladas, they were wrapped in corn tortillas. I HATE corn tortillas. I wish I was notified of this or even given a choice. I ended up eating what’s on the inside which wasn’t much. They’re very stingy when it comes to providing meat. Hardly tasted any shrimp, mostly vegetables and they weren’t all that great because the food was warmish. My aunt, also present at this visit ordered shrimp quesadillas. There might have been a piece of shrimp in there. I tasted it myself and got a mouthful of cheese. First visit here and I will not return. Gave it a 3 out of 5 only because the black bean dip was epic!

Hostess took names of customers, but did not seat anyone. Other customers entered and were seated, while the ones listed waited over an hour. After an hour I left. Will NEVEr return.

We ate here twice during our visit. Both times for lunch. Good lunch specials AND happy hour starts when they open. What!?! Awesome! Food is great! Deserts are not made on site. We had the Tres Leche cake. It was good but they could do better! Wait staff was nice and prompt. Host staff was too.

Update — 12/16/15…my co-worker and I decided to go to Lupe’s for lunch and ordered take out. When she got there to p/up the food there was an order of fajitas that were added. We did not order the fajitas. Immediately the hostess got an attitude, began rolling her eyes and was irritated because she had to un-bag the food to take the beef fajita order out of the bags and then re-bag the food with what we had ordered. The hostess then took the problem to the manager and he also had an attitude about the situation. This is the second time that I have tried to eat at Lupe’s and there has been a problem with service. Hello??? Can ya’ll maybe improve on this just a little bit? I love the food at this place but their service just flat our sucks! The Bedford location is much better!!!

My wife and I keep coming back to this restaurant. Don’t be deceived by the outward appearance of this Arlington gem. It’s located in Lincoln Square shopping center and from the outside it doesn’t look like much. However, when you walk in, it’s easy to forget you’re not in a free-standing restaurant. It’s a great place to gather with friends and family for a special occasion but still relaxed enough for a weeknight impromptu dinner. The staff are very attentive, engaging and friendly. Their house margaritas are equivalent to another restaurant’s top shelf offerings. The food is fresh and delicious. They bring out a black bean dip alongside their complimentary chips and salsa that is good enough to pay for! Their daily specials are amazing as well. We come back again and again for the excellent service and food. Pay this place a visit. You will not be disappointed!

Lupes is awesome, coming from Vermont I don’t get the chance to eat Tex Mex food, if I lived closer I’d eat at Lupes all the time. Lyn, our server was great, friendly and attentive. Not knowing about Tex Mex food we had her order for us and she nailed it. Everything was delicious. Can’t Waite to go back

I’m pretty much going to always chose Mexican food if you ask me where to go. My BFF and I were hanging out in Dallas and when it was time for a early dinner Arlington seemed like the most neutral location. I’m not a big fan of the crowds in the Highlands and I live much closer to North Arlington and have been to every Mexican place with the except of Lupe’s. It was 9 so for Arlington that is late but they are open until 10:30. We were cheerfully greeted and seated right away. Very nice waiter told us the Margaritas were really good and strong. Cool because it had been a long day and I needed one. The drinks were very strong I would return just for chips, salsa and a margarita. In my own weirdness I order Cheese Enchiladas with Ranchero sauce. If you have bad Cheese Enchilada, well let’s just say I won’t be back anytime soon. Lucky for Lupe’s they dot it right. My BFF ordered Rangers and Cowboys and was equally impressed with her meal. I think for the price and the service I will be back and I hope I’m not disappointed. I’m thinking I may do brunch since it includes 2 mimosa’s which is usually my limit anyway.

Ok … Where to start? First our server is one the BEST I have ever had anywhere ! He has not let anything get half empty . We ordered the table side Guaq … Mmmmmm little spicy and everything was fresh . Let’s chat about the black bean dip they bring warm to the table. I figured out what is in it by the time we got the 2nd bowl. CRACK ! It’s gotta be! unless there is something more addictive then crack and then that’s what it is . LAWD can I get a WITNESS? ! ? I ordered the beef fajita chimi with queso. The beef was seasoned perfect and it was fork tender without being weird consistency. Tucked away in what I suspect is a homemade flour tortilla snuggling with that beef was fresh grilled peppers and onions. It was topped with what I think was probably liquid gold . Rice was good, beans were good(not as yummy as that black bean crack they bring) I give it a FATKID rating of 10

Ate here for the first time since moving to the area. Had to say that my wife and I were pretty impressed with the food, ambiance and service. The place does say too much from the outside, apart from the big, blue«Lupe’s» sign. Inside is pretty much standard setting for a Mexican restaurant, but it’s clean and comfortable. We were sat immediately and our server was polite and quick. The food is above average and the bean dip they give you with the chips is way better than Gloria’s in Dallas. My suggestion is the guiso de rez. It is authentic and spicy. Throw in some good corn tortillas and this place has the wife and I coming back all the time.

I went here for an important business meeting and spilled food all over my shirt. My coworkers and our clients all laughed at me, which brought me to tears, and we lost the big account. The food was good, but the shame and embarrassment will haunt me forever.

Lupe’s is a nice little spot hidden in the Lincoln Square shopping center. Once you’re inside, it’s much bigger than it looks. They have really good salsas and I finally tried their queso! So good. I’ve had their margaritas a couple of times, consistently good. I really like their food too. It’s one of those places that I would go more if I didn’t feel like all my friends and family would be sick of Mexican food.

I don’t know how this place gets 4 stars. Food is bland which for Mexican is a no go. That’s all I have to say. Won’t be back.

I’ve eaten here often and find myself actually craving it from time to time. I’m a particular fan of the Gueso Dr Res, beef tips cooked in a red sauce which can be spiced up as hot as you’d like. The atmosphere is very relaxed and service is generally very good. There is a small bar with a few flat screen TV’s and food is served in there too. If you’re a fan of them, give the relleno a try(l like mine with the Ranchero sauce)

We were recommended by a person at the Sheraton where we’re staying, she said it was the best Mexican food in the area. Boy was she right, fantastic service, fantastic food. Lots of food, big margaritas, great chips and 3 options for dip. I would come here all the time if I lived here. Wonderful experience!!! Keep it up Lupe’s!!!

Well I’m not sure what’s going on, but the past few times I’ve been here I’ve felt like the quality and service have gone down a few notches. Staff is still extremely friendly, don’t get me wrong, but seem to be a bit inattentive. This last time I went, we didn’t get our chips and salsa until we asked(after we’d already ordered drinks and food). Then, the chips were extremely salty. AND I LOVESALT. But it was a bit too much to handle. I ordered the Queso Fundido with mushrooms, which I usually love, but this last time it came out it was extremely liquid-y. Typically it’s just a bunch of real cheese, melted, and then it starts to harden because duh… it’s real cheese. That’s what I loved about it. Maybe other people complained because it wasn’t exactly conducive to dipping? Hmm? Well let me tell you something, people who like gooey runny fake nacho cheese… When you melt real actual cheese it doesn’t just turn into liquid and magically stay that way unless you’re adding something else to it! So if you like runny space cheese, stick with Velveeta, Taco Bell, and the ballpark and don’t order authentic queso! That’s my rant. My point is that I fear Lupe’s Queso Fundido is slowly turning into melted cheese whiz soup, and I just want it back the way it was before. :( Also, my corn tortillas were all so completely stickity-stuck together that peeling them apart tore them to pieces. Maybe I was just having a bad day. The grilled veggie salad was still lovely! Lupe’s, I’ll never give up on you.

Wow, this place has fallen victim to «too big for their britches» and portion sizes have shrunk, prices are inflated and the quality has diminished greatly. My large swirl was $ 10! I ordered the two cheese enchilada dinner and each was about the diameter of a quarter. Chile con Carne tasted like canned chili and the cheese inside was sparse and flavorless. The corn tortillas were so dry that they almost fell apart and the underwhelming day-glo orange rice was gummy and bland. My friend ordered the low-cal chicken fajitas, which was grilled chicken with veggies, served with this tiny little salad. The salad was a few pieces of lettuce, one ring of red onion, a small sliver of tomato and two small chunks of avocado. She said the flavor was good, but for $ 14 I would expect so! Other friend ordered the shrimp salad and asked for ½ to be packed to go. The to-go portion was in a small square styrofoam container and together with what was on her plate, we estimates the quantity diminished by at least ¼ from the two prior visits. Did I mention my swirl was $ 10? This used to be my go-to, non-chain Mexican face in Arlington and I am sad to say they have out priced themselves out of a customer!
