NOCUSTOMERSERVICELOYALTY! CAREMOREABOUT $ 6 bucks than DOINGTHERIGHTTHING. NOINTEGRITY. My husband and I have visited Marquez Bakery several times, and each time I got excited to taste their tres leches cake. I was happy I finally found a place with delicious tres leches. We loved it so much we even ordered a groom wedding cake in 2012. We went back several times and ordered whole tres leches cake. My husband happened to be in the area(40 minutes away from our home) and purchased two slices of tres leches along with a few other items. 2 tres leches slices were $ 6.98. I tasted the slices when he got home. The top was DRYANDCRUMBY, and had a BAD taste to it, and the bottom was soggy and milk tasted rotten. It made my stomach queasy. I took two little bites and decided to throw it away, didn’t even open the 2nd slice. I called them immediately, the worker told me that it was old cake(3 days old) and if had our receipt(which we did) could return it. I gave them my number and the manager called me the following day. I told her I just wanted a refund because to drive 80 mins round trip for 2 slices of cake was not worth it. They told me they just tasted the cake THERE(NOTTHEONE I TASTEDOBVIOUSLY) and it was FINE. I told them, well the one I had was terrible and old, they said well ours tastes good. We went back and forth. No «customer is always right» here! I even told them the person yesterday told me the cake was old. They told me I could drive there and then they could taste it and see, I told them I was not driving 80 mins and to please just refund my $ 6.98. They said NO. I asked them if they are more concerned with $ 6.98 than a happy and RETURNING customer, I told them all the business I have brought them, and the worker said she would ask her manager again, after being on hold for 10 minutes told, they gave me the same answer, NO. I let them know I would be giving them a bad review. ALLFOR $ 6. Is that not worth a happy, returning customer that’s been loyal to you? NOTTOTHEM.

Oh my goodness, I purchased two dozen of Tamales from this place and they were the worst that I have ever had. They were extremely dry and had more masa than meat. I would not recommend them to anyone. I was very disappointed. If I could rate them at zero stars, I would.

DONOTTRUSTTHESEPEOPLE! I placed a tamale order 3 weeks ago. I understand it’s tamale season, they were quick to take my money but when I showed up I waited for over an hour with no tamales. Numerous people who showed up while I was waiting all got there tamales? I asked for the manager, spoke to her in English and she said 15 – 20 min. After waiting 25 more mins I asked my girlfriend to talk to the manager in Spanish(after I heard her insulting me in Spanish to another worker, I was upset and wanted to stay calm). Once my girlfriend started talking to her, the manager said to her«I’m sorry I don’t speak or understand you.» What an insult! She told us to keep waiting. After 30 more minutes of waiting and seeing other people get their order, I asked her if we will get our order. She refused to talk to us! Finally she turned to us and said«I’m not going to have any tamales for you!» Yet she served everyone else! The tamales were for a charity event and that is why we ordered ahead of time. We walked out empty handed after she told her employees«Do not serve them»(in Spanish) I have never been treated or insulted in that manner. As a manager you should never be abrasive, insulting or lie to a customers face. Customer service needs to be addressed because no customer should EVER be treated like that. Whoever the manager that was on shift during 1 – 4 on Thursday December 24 needs SERIOUS customer service skills.

Horrible! As soon as i walked in the females looked me up and down… Then started talking about me! I speak FLUENT Spanish so when i ordered in SPANISH they all scattered like rats. The older lady taking my order was RUDE! And my order was wrong… I had ordered a coffee and asked my son to bring me the sugar, well the rude old hag walks over to me and tells me they need the sugar in its place and to put it back, REALLY? It was not the only sugar and my son literally had just handed it to me! Now on my chorizo plate, the eggs tasted old as if they made them previously and then just reheated it. You cant do that with chorizo and egg!!! Their bread sucks, go to ANAKAREN in arlington or TAPATIA in Grand Prairie. This isnt the first time here, but it will for sure be my last!

Close to my workplace and has a wonderful selection of cakes, I always get the chicken tortilla soup as it’s got a nice spice to it. The breakfast wraps are pretty good here as well

This place is consistently good! I’ve been several times now– breakfast, dinner, and baked goods. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is top-notch. A huge selling point– they make their own tortillas. Their breakfast burritos are great as are their pastries. Although it’s called a bakery, it’s also a full-on restaurant serving authentic Mexican food.

Great food at a fair price. Migas are down home authentic w fresh fried & cut corn tortillas. Nice balance of jalapeño and egg. Both the green salsa & the red salsa are tasty and not too spicy. Definitely recommend this place.

The food is ok. I was promised something else and received something else and then when I tried to cancel my order, they refused to take it back though they accepted their mistake. I might return to this place only if I want to waste my money without going to a casino.

This place has gone down from our last visit. The wife and I came here for breakfast and waited exactly 30 minutes from the time we ordered to the time our food arrived. Then when we tasted it, and it was not hot at all. We returned it and requested hot food. It was not a busy morning either.

Had a groupon to be used at this restaurant. Ordered Chicken fajita and Was disappointed at the quantity of the overall food we received. Not sure if using groupon might be the reason for very small quantity of food which is worth of 8.5 dollars. the food wasn’t fresh either. If you are looking for a good Mexican food in Arlington, I would recommend La Isla restaurant on the pioneer pkwy. for only little more money, you get fresh, good quantity of food with nice flavors. Also, it comes with guacamole and fresh chips with salsa, which is not offered at Marquez bakery.

I only have one thing to say about this place… DELICIOUSBARBACOA… I have been living in San Antonio for the past 10 years and now being back in the metroplex it is hard to find«Real» barbacoa and this place has it. Delicioso! Pastries and other food is really good as well as my family loves the Pumpkin Empanadas.

One afternoon I was craving tacos and to my surprise this little bakery served me up a pretty good barbacoa. My roommate and I pondered through all the pastries and could barely decide on what to get there were so many options. Grab a blue tray, get as many cinnamon rolls on it that will fit and check out. Talk about where I’ll be going the next time I have company in town for breakfast! Options for everyone!

Decent little place and not expensive. The portions are tiny so don’t expect a legit meal. Come here for several meal items to sample and you won’t be disappointed. Overall decent, but not amazing.

I’m giving Marquez bakery five stars because of their delicious tres-leches cake. I’ve been buying them for about two years now and the quality and taste have yet to be compromised. There are some weeks where I’ll buy three for the week. They’re that damn good… Okay, I’m having to edit this review. I’m lowering my rating to one star because they sold me a spoiled cake that made me ill. But I figured I would return it and there would be no problem. I show up and explain to them that the cake taste really funny, the young lady said the storm had caused a power outage and the cake was unrefrigerated all night. The thing about tres leches cake is that it’s made with dairy which can spoil if not refrigerated. I thought, okay well can I get a refund or a new cake. This other lady comes out and tells me without a receipt there’s nothing she can do. I tell her I was just there the afternoon before and I get an insincere apology. I can’t believe after being a loyal customer for so long to be sold a cake that they know is rotten and then not even offer an exchange for a fresher if I don’t have the receipt for a refund. I mean the cake had their sticker on the plastic container holding the cake! Well, I just left the cake their and left. It sucks because I was a real fan of this place. But you don’t sell people rotten food and then make them feel bad about not having the receipt. The reason I didn’t have the receipt is because I trusted the cake was good and that they were a real local type of place. Screw it

An inexpensive place to grab dinner. I got the carne guisada. The carne was about 4 stars. The rice and beans were forgettable. However, the star of the show at this place is the tortillas. I also like their version of custard filled lady locks very much. The almond cookies are good. Some other cookies I tried weren’t that great. They do custom cakes here too. Ultimately, a good place to grab dinner very close to the Rangers ballpark. You won’t eat nearly as well nor as cheaply if you wait to eat until you are inside the ballpark.

Service was horrible. They charged me for a bacon, potato, egg, and cheese but wait add en extra charge of $ 1.05 because I did not want the egg on it. The cashier acted like I was messing up his day for asking for that. It says tortilla factory but they taste like the ones you get from the store they did not taste home made at all. Got an assortment of gorditas with various meats. Ordered a dozen tamales that I was so excited for, but were all unfortunately kind of dry. The gorditas weren’t bad, but I’ve had better. There were various choices of baked goods, but I couldn’t find any bags or anything to be able to get some. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t really memorable for me.

Marquez has been pretty consistently great since I was a kid. It’s a leftover from when the eastern side of Division was still a happening place to be. Things are starting to look up again over there and Marquez is still there. Bakery items are good and have a decent selection. It’s also a market. Not much of a selection, but the peppers are just massive. Jams from the middle of nowhere and and other items. Clearly, the tortillas are great. Great. The food is nice and cheap. It’s also tasty. The options are pretty standard fare for a taqueria/bakery, but above average for sure. Meats are flavorful and well cooked. Side items are well done. The only thing I that gets me is how impossibly greasy it is. It can’t even be contained in the tortilla. All over your fingers. It’s delicious, but I’m always shocked at just how slippery my fingers are.

Well this is a decent little place. The positives are that the food is good, the place is clean and friendly staff. They have a delicious sauce which compliments all of their menu selection. It is also reasonably priced. Now for the negs… This is a bakery and it is rather tasteless. I have had the conchas(shells looking bread), Cinnamon rolls, cookies, sweet empanadas… all were tasteless to just meh… I have been here many times and just gave up on the sweet bread.
