This place has to be paying people for their reviews, first off, this place holds no relation to anything in the North End of Boston. The name drives me nuts because of that. The food, is this really what people in the area consider«Italian» cuisine? I really am baffled over this. The owner’s not even from Italy, it would be totally different if you could get great Italian foods here but you can not. The sauce is raw and definitely from a jar or can. Overcooked chicken and Undercooked pizza that is topped with way more Mozzarella than needed. They also use the cheap mozzarella that more than likely comes in a bag which results in thin soggy pizza. I don’t know if I’ll be back with more authentic and better options only a few miles from there.

Pizza is first rate, girls had subs and loved them, fresh bread and HUGE! I think the in house pick up has been more consistent than the take out. This is a great meal for a fair price on the go.

My boyfriend and I love this place! We order from them when we have the chance. They have vegetarian options which is a huge plus for me. I like the pasta and butternut ravioli so good! Staff is very friendly and social. Serving size is ok some leftover for later. Pricing is a lil high but for the location, food, and customer service this is the go to spot in Arlington!

Good food and great stuff. Prices are little high compared to other pizza shops in the Heights. But they compensate for that because they have an awesome five dollar large cheese pizza deal every Monday Tuesday! Can’t beat that!

Okay — I’m self-admittedly a pizza snob raised in NYC and NJ. If you are not one, then disregard my review. If you are looking for pizza similar to what we have back home — then read on. Northender, despite the name which carries a lot of promise — is not the place. I believe a pizzas soul comes from its crust, and this crust I’m fairly certain was not made on site. It was of very poor quality and the ingredients on top did not make up for it. However, it is still better than other places — hence 2 stars.

Pizza — delicious. Delivery– confirmation email stated 40 minutes, reality was 1 hour, 45 minutes. Salt was added to the wound when we received 7, not 8 mozzarella sticks, and our food was cold. Waiting for the pizza to warm in the oven now… At least they took $ 5 off our order. Stick with pick up and you will likely be pleased.

We ordered from Northender for the first time recently. As others have said, the chicken Parmesan is great and a huge serving(4 pieces) for $ 6.95. Their sauce is delicious– very tomato-y, a little sweet and not super thick. I really liked the pizza crust and will try a different pizza next time. I ordered the Mediterranean and just didn’t enjoy the combination. That’s my issue though, not the restaurant’s. My husband picked up our food and said the woman working at the front was very friendly. Happy to have such a good place so close to me!

There’s really not much to say. The staff is very friendly(but not in a creepy way). The pizza is fast and consistently amazing. They also have ridiculously specials(like 6 bucks) on a large cheese pizza Mon & Tues. In a dense clump of pizza places(10 within a quarter mile, 3 of them *literally* within pizza-throwing distance) your takeout pizza should come from this one.

Came here after reading Unilocal reviews. Got the Italian sub and chicken parm. The Italian sub was really delicious! Scarfed down half the sub on the car ride home. It tasted so fresh and light. Don’t wait to eat it because the other half got a little soggy(only on the bottom) from the dressing on the way back. Still delicious though, wish I had more of that dressing to dip it in! So I wasn’t clear what kind of chicken parm to order and got the pasta. Honestly, I was not gung-ho about the pasta, but the chicken was so moist and delicious! I could eat 5 pieces even after having the italian sub. Fyi, it only comes with 2 pieces. Definitely want to try this as a sub next time. Pasta also came with bread on the side. This restaurant felt like a mom-and-pop kind of place even though this is the second location. Girl at the counter was super friendly and even the customers too. I would come back again.

I live nearby and went to the thai place down the street and tried to order takeout. After sitting there for 10 minutes and realizing they never placed my order I left and started walking to another place down the street. I walked by this place and figured I’d give it a shot. I ordered an Italian sub and it was ready in 10 minutes. When I got home to eat it, it was delicious! The oil had seeped out of it and into the tray it came in so the bottom was a big soggy but the taste made up for it. I’m somewhat of an Italian sun snob, and this was the best I’d had in a long time. While I was ordering I saw a couple receive their in-house order of chicken parm and couldn’t help but wish I got that, based off of appearance alone. So the next night I returned, and did just that. I had a chat with the owner and he told me he’s been in the business for over 15 years in Concord, and this is his second location. There is a reason he is successful enough to open a second location. The chicken parm came and it was just as fantastic as the Italian sub. Fresh bread, fresh chicken, tasty sauce, and a great portion size. They use all fresh ingredients. Nothing is frozen. I can’t wait to come back and try the pizza. If I could give this gem 6 stars, I would. Much more than your corner«House of Pizza». Check it out and thank me later!!!

Where to start with The Northender? The amazing food: the pizza, the pastas, the appetizers… We’ve had something(or a lot of things) from every category and truly have never been disappointed! Always delicious and made with care! The owner is a genuine person who wants to make great food and they provide wonderful service. We tried the Mass Ave pizza last week and our lives will never be the same! Oh and get the cannoli! Just amazing!

Northender was a good experience for me. So far I’ve only got pasta and chicken parm from them. I liked both dishes. Each of them was good for two three meals. For the pasta, the owner was so kind and willing to make my customized, off-the-menu dish. After maybe three minutes into the hot, fresh, delicious dinner, I had to call them right away to thank them again and let them know how much I appreciated it. Many places cook tasty food, yet it is quite special when the food tastes like someone cares about it and about you. Like something they would make for their own loved ones. Northender’s chicken parm was also great. The tomato sauce was so fresh with just the right amount of tang and seasoning, they can seriously sell that sauce by the jar. The chicken had a great texture and taste, the coating was just right: not too thin, not too thick, did not fall off from the meat at all. I have not yet tried the pizza(so far we’ve been quite loyal to Andrina’s.) I’ll give that a try at some point.

Amazing Fresh Food. Its hard to find a restaurant that the whole family likes. We’ve been there quite a few times since it opened. Love the non greasy chicken, bacon and ranch pizza. The Abrusso pasta is absolutely delicious. On the lighter side was a grilled chicken with mozzarella salad. Fast and friendly service is always a plus. Thank you! Wish you all the success in this new business.

Pizza places are plentiful, but finding a place that has matches your tastes is surprisingly challenging… we really liked the flavor and crust of the cheese pizza that we tried, and the service is great and the owners are really friendly. They have a location in Concord and want to be successful in Arlington. They made a delicious, off-menu bacon, chicken, and ranch pizza for us tonight. We’ll be back for more!
