PLEASE READ. First time in, loved it. Staff is so friendly and so is the dentist. But If I could give no stars, I would. My mom had an appointment for teeth extractions and Morlock forgot to prescribe and give her antibiotics. He pretty much gave way for infection to spread. Two days later, my mom had trouble speaking and pain in her mouth. We went back to see the dentist and he admitted to forgetting to give her proper medicine. The infection she had spread and she grew an abscess right below her mouth, under her chin. Doctors said it had nearly spread to her lungs. Emergency surgery at Harris Methodist hospital and 3 days spent in trauma ICU, sedated, all due to Morlock’s lack of attentiveness. If you can, stay away. I’m not one to say negative things but this was irresponsible and put my mom in a life threatening position.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Morlock. However, earlier this year, it looks like he sold his practice to a Dr. Prachi Shah, a rather young woman. He sent a letter out to all patients, extolling the virtues of Dr. Shah.
My wife went in for her cleaning, and was told that she had 2 fractured crowns that needed to be replaced right away. A deal was offered if she would pay before the end of 2014, and could get the crowns replaced later.
Shortly thereafter, I went in for my cleaning. After very little interaction with me, as far as my brushing habits, flossing, etc., I was told that I had gum disease, needed a deep cleaning, had 2 cavities (haven’t had any cavities in over 20 years), AND that I ground my teeth (I knew that, they put some caps on earlier this year), and that I needed a nightguard. The deep cleaning and cavity treatment was $ 3150 ($ 2250 after discount). The nightguard was $ 8100 (!) with insurance, but if I paid cash, it would ONLY be $ 2900. Now, when I had a cleaning 6 months ago, and had the caps put on 4 months earlier by Dr. Morlock, there was no mention of any of this.
So, I got a 2^nd opinion. Went to another dentist (within 2 days), and didn’t tell them the prior diagnosis. They checked my gums, and the numbers were all 2 to 3 millimeters better than what was measured by Dr. Shah. I asked the technician if they were confident with those numbers, and they said yes, most technicians’ numbers should be within 1 millimeter of each other. The dentist came in, examined my teeth, and said that except for the abrasion from the grinding, they were in great shape. I asked him if I had gum disease. He said no, no problems there at all. I asked if I had any cavities. He said, no, there are no cavities. At this point, I told him what had transpired. He was pretty taken aback, especially at the difference in the price of the mouthguard, between the «iinsured price» and the cash price. He said he could do a nightguard for my mouth for $ 300!
Needless to say, I have a new dentist now, as does my wife. Our new dentist also examined my wife’s teeth and said that while there were perhaps a couple of small fractures developing around her old fillings, that there was nothing to worry about, and that she should wait until after her braces come off to address them. It’s the type of thing that could fracture in 6 months, or be good for 20 years. No pressure to get them done at the new dentist.
That’s our experience, your mileage may vary, but with Dr. Morlock now apparently out of the picture, I’d say take whatever Dr. Shah recommends with a rather large grain of salt (perhaps a shakerful), and if you get an expensive diagnosis and treatment recommendation, think seriously about getting a 2^nd opinion before you commit to it. In our case, it’s saved us thousands and thousands of dollars (and I did get my nightguard for $ 300 — works great).

It is so nice to go to the dentist and feel like you will get really good service and you can trust them. That is how I feel about Dr. Morlock’s.
Honest? yes, advice based on your needs not his.
Hygienist? gentle and thorough
Staff? friendly, well organized & smart — same ones always there
Good with needle? YES, YES! (what more can I say?)

I love going to the dentist! Dr Murlock and the entire staff is great. They really care about your dental hygiene. Highly recommend any new patient to come here!

Dr. Morlock is a wonderful dentist! Yes, I am a freak and love going to the dentist, but his office is why I love getting my teeth cleaned! He is gentle, caring and genuinely concerned with the health of your teeth and mouth. His entire staff makes you feel welcomed and they’re all happy to assist. The coolest thing about exams with Dr. Morlock is that if you keep up with your regular cleanings, they will provide free tubes of professional grade tooth bleach, after you have molds of your bite made. I’m not sure if this is an on-​going deal, or if it was a one-​time thing, but it definitely makes my cleanings more rewarding… because not only are my teeth clean and healthy, they are sparkling white. :D
