Taco Cabana

Ordered 2 breakfast tacos, nothing fancy, (potato & egg), got my drink, had a seat, checked my email. About 10 minutes went by, I realized my tacos were not ready? I checked with the kitchen, nobody would make eye contact with me. I asked what’s the problem with my 2 tacos? The Manager (I’m assuming, cause he was the only person not doing anything) came over and said he had a huge order of breakfast tacos his crew was making and apologized for delay, real smugly. I asked how long am I looking at? The Manager told me rudely a few more minutes. I said I just want a refund please, he turned and walked away telling his staff to «give this man 2 tacos!» I said well don’t go out of your way. He got 2 tacos, put them in a bag and tossed the bag on the counter and went back to standing cross armed, looking at his crew work… I don’t know about you, but this man has no business being a manager.

I have been coming to this establishment since they opened. I have always tried to be very patient even when orders are taken 30 minutes for one or two burritos. This morning I stopped in to get a few burritos and a few other things. When I got my order I check to make sure everything was OK before leaving as I was taking it to go. When I checked in my bag it looked like I had gotten no burritos. I pulled out the burrito and I showed Tonya and I asked what is this accidentally given to me instead of a burrito because it was the size of a taco. Mind you I have been coming here for years ordering the exact same burrito. It always being almost the exact same size. The woman at the drive-​through window Tonya was extremely rude she walked over talk to Erica the girl that was making the burritos, came back and said you’re wrong that’s the size of the burritos. I asked again are you sure this is the right thing because I order this all the time and it’s never this small. She told me they are the ones making them not me & they said that’s our 10 inch burrito. I showed her the burrito and asked does this look like 10 inches? She said it looks like 10 inches to me. I’m not sure what school is teaching measurements but this was definitely not 10 inches. As a customer that comes here several times a month you would think that they would try to fix a problem if one arose. I included a picture so you can see this is NOT 10″. It is the size of a credit card. What made the experience worse was the way the employees treated me. You can tell Cynthia is not working today because this is not level of service or the standard of food that is normally acceptable.

Food is good but each time I come here my order is messed up or forgotten. I came here one night and there was 1 guy taking orders and 1 guy cooking so I left because I knew it wouldn’t be that great. Plus the guys seemed really high and slow. I know this area is known to be a ghetto small town but they need to be a little faster pace and up beat.

The ONLY advantage this place has is location. I was there 2 weeks ago for breakfast and was told by the person at the counter that she was going on her break and would have someone else take my order. I turned around and left. I wish they’d close this useless piece of landscape and replace it with a Rosa’s Café.

So, I am usually a huge fan of Taco Cabana, but this location is just flat out terrible. Their drive thru has been broken for months and they refuse to fix it, which forces you to have to walk inside (which is complete and utter bullshit) the food usually tastes like ass, and the staff is like a bunch of robots from Futurama. No one greets you/​gives a shit about anything other than probably looking at their phone to see how much closer they are to getting off. This location is the worst I have ever been to in DFW. If you normally like Cabana like I do, don’t waste your time or money here. What I love about Unilocal is I can sit and write reviews on my phone while I wait in the drive thru (going on 30 minutes now for 3 items) and tell everyone else how much of a dump this place is. I hope that corporate shuts this shit hole down. _​B

Customer service is lacking big time and the food was barely luke-​warm. Had to clean off our own table. Nobody greeted us when we came in, barely acknowledged we were there to place our order, and did not say anything when we left. Won’t be back.

This was pretty bad. The workers were playing around while we were in there and it took FOREVER to get out food out. Everything was really dirty but there was no one else in the restaurant since it was late. The fountain drinks were horrible and the tea tasted old. I can’t imagine owning this location and being happy about it.

I have been sitting in drive through for 20 min plus for my food. And I’m still waiting. No rush by employees.

Taco cabana is a little piece of Mexico wrapped in fast food. The theme of the restaurant is child friendly and fun for the whole family. Me and my family love taco cabana and would eat there any day.

Went to the drive thru last night after a long day of celebrating Easter with the family. The flautas were unedible. They were crunchy on the outside and the meat was ice cold. I don’t know if they were cutting corners because they had a skeleton crew working Easter or what. It will be awhile before we go back.

Came with coworkers for breakfast tacos. Staff is always friendly and gives us military discounts… Thank you! Food is delish and fresh… Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Used to love this place. Was always clean (not today-​what a mess). Plenty if staff to clean just no one seems to care. But WORST of all… NO MORE MANGO TEA!!! Look like its bye bye Taco Cabana. Not coming back until the tea does and the place is cleaned like they might actually care. I see this place failing soon.

Short on staff. Need to clean better. We has to clean our own table.
Please get back the Mango tea! One if my favorites. :(
Flour tortillas fresh. Got the chicken combo so I could get MANGO tea.
There is fuzzy down the street they will get my business in the future.

Having lived in San Antonio and going to the original off Blano Road, I still love their Fajitas. I always get three beef fajitas tacos, with cheese and guac, delish…
They used to cut them different and in the day (late 80’s) fajita taco wed 99 cents with cheese, $ 1.09.
The price has changed, the flavor is the same…

This is only a breakfast review. Great breakfast tacos great price. This a good places to grab breakfast sometimes the patio is nice in the morning.
The other breakfast item are also good. But I like the tacos. Short and sweet.

One star. Only because the food I got was hot. Even if it was not what I ordered. I should have known it was going to be terrible service when after I ordered and was instructed to pull forward all I heard was the punk kid working the drive thru cursing. Reminder kid– make sure your head phone is muted before you start rambling about how much you hate your job. I obviously wasn’t the only one that got the wrong order since the two cars in front of me just exchanged bags once they got to the window. I will def drive out of the way to go to another TC when I have a craving!

Food was good & the service was quick & friendly.

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some good Taco C and have had plenty of it living in Austin for so long, but this experience was just kinda mediocre. I haven’t had Taco Cabana since I moved to Dallas in August. Maybe I was too excited about my reunion to set that bar too high? But I felt the tortillas we’re a bit of a let down — not fresh at all and more like store bought? Bleh. The beans were so watered down they were more like a gravy that was so incredibly messy and didn’t taste like beans but more like bean juice. Gross? The taco shells were definitely nice and crispy and the lettuce and cheese were good so yay! They provided plenty of napkins and salsa for our to go fare.
All in all… it was okay for fast food and I was happy to have it because I’ve missed this restaurant but MAN does Dallas need a Taco Shack. In a bad way.

Good and open late! I like to order a pack of their tortillas to go. So good! The dining area is huge too if you like to eat in.
