I went there to try a variation of Rooibos that I normally buy online(organic for $ 13/lb). I asked for 1 oz but was told by the little girl there I couldn’t get less than 2 oz. For trying out tea that I may not like, that was too much waste for me. Ok. Then she asked me if I wanted it in a tin. She did not disclose the cost of the tin. So, I asked her if I had to pay for it. She said yes, $ 7. Wow. Tea should be put in glass or paper anyway. I declined. After ringing me up I heard her say, «Your total investment towards your health and happiness is $ 5.13». YIKES. Who embarrasses their customers by even talking like that? Here I was forced to buy 2 oz of tea and an ‘offer’ for a tin. Health? Happiness? Investment? Then, while telling a friend on the phone the strange way the girl told me the cost of the tea, the little girl interrupted to say, «I like working here». I said, «I’m sure you do. But did you notice the crazy things your corporate management makes you say?» These are all shady marketing techniques to mind bomb the customer into a purchase for something of lesser quality, and pressure employees to make sales. A bit of research and I find they get their teas from India, which notoriously has low standards to meet with high American production demands for a pittance — such as tea. And they have no enforcements on regulations for pesticides. Yes, India uses pesticides.(I have a degree in hazardous waste and regulations). Teavana claims they have a 3rd party tester but fail to offer the name of the lab or the data results. NOTORGANICNORQUALITY. It’s a high priced, highly decorated, Oprah endorsed happy ass store with low quality tea and over-priced tea pots. Only the investors benefit after they bull honk us into believing something magical will come of drinking their teas. They use aggressive shady sales to fill in where there product cannot stand. Now Teavana is owned by Starbucks — birds of a feather — and which I boycotted a year and half ago because of their convoluted way of dealing with my gift cards online and at the shops. By the way, my son and I tried the tea. It had a very strange after-taste. I’m into herbs and spices for many years, so I’m very familiar with the subtle flavors and mixes of curries and chai. This was totally unrecognizable and not appealing whatsoever. I hate waste, but neither of us can bring ourselves to finish this tea. I may just go back to this store and dump the contents on the counter and tell them this investment contributed nothing except how to recognize that dishonesty goes deep there. My money, like yours, only serviced their share holders because I’m out $ 5 for poor quality tea and disgusted. Try selling the truth with real quality and I may believe that whole health and happiness line this brand store is trying to pawn off on me. Never going there or any other Teavana regardless what anyone says about it. Most people don’t have the discernment to know when they’ve been had or to look for better alternatives.

I will never go to this Teavana again. I would rather drive to North Park or Hulen mall. When shopping for a mother’s day gift I was told that they have free shipping if you spend more than $ 50.00. They promised that my package would be shipped on the following Monday. However, my package did not ship until Thursday. My mother was expecting her gift this week. They never even provided a courtesy call to give me the option to ship the package myself. The only explanation that they provided was that UPS did not come on Monday! Are you kidding me!!! Pick up the phone and they will come pick up the package or one better call your customer. I love there teas but will NEVER shop at this location again. By the way, this is not the first time that I have received poor customer service at this location. There were two other occasions where they were too busy on their phones to provide assistance.

As I was walking by the store, I was offered a sample of a blended tea. Because the tea was very delicious, I stepped in and was helped out by a very nice employee. She informed me about the different types of tea pots they offer. Because Teavana sells loose leaf teas, you do need a steeper/infuser, but, you can also find one of these online for a much better price. I asked approximately a million questions about the teas, gift sets, and rock sugar they sell. I found the Teavana staff members to have an upbeat and informative demeanor the entire time. I think this place has great gift options for the tea lover in your life. Prices may be steep(pun intended), but I think the tea is fantastic and has better flavor than what you’d find in the grocery store. This store is on the petite side, but is clean and nicely laid out. Side note, I definitely saw some of what the other reviewer stated in terms of staff on their phones. I heard alerts going off constantly and then being checked. This place probably needs to address this. I have to say the employee that helped me out was amazing, and I saw another put together a nice custom gift. I think this place has customer service right, but again, I see how the phone thing is an issue.

Absolutely no customer service ATALL! Cashiers on their cell phones, no one asked us if we needed help with anything, completely turned me off.
