Nancy made my son’s 1st birthday cake. I ordered an Elmo marble cake and I totally forgot to order his smash cake! But guess what? When I came to pick up my order, Nancy had one ready for me. Nancy seriously saved the day! Nancy’s cakes(marble and smash cake was vanilla) was very moist and delicious! My son seemed to love his smash cake and I had some too! Lol I recommend Nancy’s cake. Her cake is delicious and the customer service here is even better. Thanks Nancy for everything you did! You literally saved the day!

I’m from Chicago… Wanted some unique cupcakes for my grandsons 4th birthday. I requested Incredible Hulk. The favor and moisture of the cake was perfect … The cupcake design fell short

I ordered a lemon cake with lemon icing for my granddaughter’s birthday from That’s the Cake Bakery. The Cake was a yellow cake with buttercream frosting. No taste of lemon. My first time at this Bakery and my last. What a big disappointment for my granddaughter.

Wow! I’m super impressed, the cake I got here was super moist, delicious and the service was amazing! I will definitely be getting more cakes and cupcakes when I am back in the area! I loved buying here because I love supporting small businesses that have a good quality product! Yummy, delicious and I most definitely recommend for a special occasion or just to feed your sweet tooth :)

Nancy is very easy to work with. I found a picture on the Internet and sent it to her. My cake was ready when promised. When I went to pick up the cake, it didn’t look anything like the picture and I was upset. The cake melted on my way home, it was just horrible. I called Nancy and we discussed how the cake was made. This is where it got interesting. Nancy took full accountability and truly listened to my concerns, she didn’t make any excuses. She told me to return the cake, and that she would fix it to my liking and deliver it to us SAME day. She did just that. The cake arrived minutes before the ceremony started, and it was beautiful. That cake was delicious, extra moist, perfectly sweet(even with the ganache which she didn’t want to use initially because of the taste) I will work with Nancy again because she strives to put the customer first. If you tell her exactly what you want, she will execute it flawlessly. Thank you Nancy for making our day so special. Our guests raved over that cake, and it really was tasty!

If i could give this place no stars or negative stars i would. Words to describe the establishment and the owners unprofessional, rude, and lacking judgment.

My initial dealings with Nancy at That’s the Cake were so promising, I’m honestly sad to give it a 2 star rating. My parents visited this weekend from Georgia and I wanted to do something that would give us the wedding planning experience together and decided that a cake tasting with them, my fiancé and me would be perfect. My mom is gluten free, so I did a lot of research to find a bakery that could accommodate that and settled on That’s The Cake, even though it’s a 30 minute drive from where I live in downtown Dallas. Unfortunately life got crazy, I got sick and had to have unexpected surgery, so there was a couple of weeks between when I first reached out to them to talk about an appointment and when I was able to make it. By that point all their Sunday appointments were filled and they don’t do appointments on Saturday, since it’s so busy(not unusual for a bakery.) However, I was very grateful and relieved when Nancy said that she’d see us after their store was closed. Except that it didn’t happen. The 4 of us loaded into the car, drove 30 minutes each way in the rain… to find an empty store. I called and got voicemail. I emailed. We waited 30 minutes and then Nancy’s son responded to the email that she had gone home sick and didn’t tell him of the appointment. I understand that unexpected things come up. I’m thankful that her son was checking messages and responded(though we were about ready to leave.) However, I’m crushed that this experience that I was so looking forward to will now never happen, since this will be the only time my parents visit Texas before the wedding. He apologized and seemed to feel bad about it and said his mother would reach out to me on Monday, but honestly, there’s no way that I can use them for the wedding. What if she gets sick then? I can’t have her just forget to do my cake. I need to be able to trust my vendors and that trust has been completely ruined. I do appreciate them working with me to try to find a time with my schedule and that’s why this is 2 stars and not 1 star. However, small businesses need to do a better job of having back-ups for when emergencies and unexpected events arise, especially when their business caters to once in a lifetime events.

This bakery is the secret that SHOULDN’T be a secret! My wife and I were in the area hoping to bump into some good cupcakes. Though this place is known for their cakes, they also have fresh baked cupcakes DAILY! Yes, no leftovers. Their batter is AMAZING. Soft, moist, not too sweet and far from bland. We were helped by Monte who was the coolest! We had a quick little chat about the store, flavors and just enjoyable small talk. If you’re anywhere near this place when craving a cake or cupcake, it’s a must you stop by! If you have a special event coming up, I can promise you would be hard pressed to find better cakes or cupcakes. No matter where you are, it’s worth the drive! My wife and I will be back!

If I could give this place NEGATIVE20 stars, I would. The old lady who is the owner, is a CONDESCENDING, RUDE individual who severely lacks customer service skills. She also seems to lack any ounce of talent. I placed an order for my daughter’s first birthday cake. I provided photos of exactly what I wanted the cake to look like, described in detail what I wanted, and asked her if she understood. She confirmed that she did, and I stood in the bakery, texted her 3 photos, and waited there until she received all 3. I left, excited about getting my daughter’s cake in a few weeks. I returned to pick up the cake and was beyond shocked. The cake she had baked was beyond MEDIOCRE. It looked absolutely nothing like the pictures that I provided. It looked like something that I as an amateur baker could sit in my kitchen and make by myself. When I informed her that the cake was nothing like I ordered, and I showed her pictures, she lied and said that she only received one of the pictures I told her I had sent her. When I pulled my phone out and showed her the text, she backtracked and claimed to have gotten two of the three pictures, and said, «oh yeah, I remember us talking about that second picture now.» I informed her that she had received ALL3 because I stood there while she received them. She claimed that she could fix it in a few hours, but nothing she would have done could have fixed it because the entire cake was nothing like what I ordered, to begin with. I got a refund because I wouldn’t feed the garbage she baked to a stray dog. She was extremely unapologetic, providing excuses and lying about not receiving my messages, instead of apologizing profusely for the mediocre work she had done. When I expressed how disappointed I was in her, she got extremely rude and condescending, asking«Well what do you want me to do? Get on my hands and knees and kiss your feet?» Despite her being beyond RUDE, I chose not to stoop to her level and I thanked her, told her to have a nice day, and told her she’d be getting a review from me on Unilocal for her TERRIBLEWORK, RUDEBEHAVIOR, and LACKOFCUSTOMERSERVICE. Never in my life have I had such a TERRIBLEEXPERIENCE at a bakery. If I were any of you, I would STEERCLEAROFTHISPLACE!!! If you want a joke of a cake, if you want to be disappointed, if you want to be treated rudely, then this is the place for you. I would not go back to this joke of a bakery if was paid a million bucks. I had to go to a real bakery and reschedule my daughter’s first birthday celebration. I went to the Jenny Layne Bakery in Flower Mound. Jenny and her team are amazing!!! They have spectacular talent and their creations will leave you in awe.

She’s has amazing cupcakes! I walked in the other day and was astonished by the variety of flavors she had! I’m from San Francisco and was visiting family in the area, and saw her shop, walked in and she has an assortment to choose from! When I get back into town, I’ll defiantly be hitting up That’s The Cake Bakery for some sweet goods!

Love this place! Besides the cake being absolutely delicious and the owner/baker being an an absolute delight she made the exact cake we had pictured in our head. She did the cake for my daughters baby shower and we wanted it to match the invitations and she couldn’t have done a better job right down to the right colors. We had called a couple of other places before we found her and didn’t get anywhere close to the curtesy or pleasantness that we got from her. Even on the phone she was wonderful and I want to say again the cake was not only beautiful but amazingly delicious as well. And I’m sure it was no easy task because this was a three tier, three different flavors… red velvet on top, lemon in the middle and chocolate for the bottom tier and all with butter cream icing! We will definitely be going back for our next event and certainly in the meantime too just because it’s just so darn good!
