Armada Agricultural Fair

Nice country fair, pleasant walk around, the Budweiser Clydesdales display was impressive. Barns, animal displays, midway & food areas all well maintained … no poultry this year due to avian flu concerns, :(. If you’re there early, try a St. Mary’s breakfast bagel at the St. Mary’s Food Court … really hits the spot, :). Not on the scope of the old Michigan State Fair Grounds, which people have always compared it to when speaking with me, but it’s not meant to be, #shrug. Tractor pulls, demo derby, rodeo … polite crowds and something for everyone, :).

Very impressed with how they handled a missing child yesterday too! They shut everything down, made announcements, and locked the gates until the child was found. I’m sure it annoyed some people during that 15 minutes to a half hour it took to find that kid. But as a parent I would’ve been very grateful!

Absolutely a nightmare for participants. It’s a disorganized disaster every year, and this topped it. I appreciate that they took our registration money BEFORE they announced who was disqualified.
On top of that, the disqualifications looked oddly biased, based on what we saw were allowed to race and we were treated like a threat as the inspectors walked around flanked by sherriff officers and offered curt dismissials when we questioned the ruling and asked for details. They just told us to go home.
We came to put on a show, our money was taken, and we were treated like animals that were looking for trouble from the moment we tried to buy pit passes for our parents to the moment we were kicked out on a wave of the inspectors hand. He did not even look at the car.
It’s really disappointing to see what used to be a fun event destroyed by people who let a little bit of percieved power go right to their already inflated wannabe country heads.

Best country fair you’ll go to. I like it better than the Michigan State Fair. It is very clean, lots of fun for all ages, and definitely has lots of good food.

Best Little County Fair in Michigan. This weeks they had it all. Demolishing Derby, Figure 8 racing, Country Music Concert and Tractor Pulls. Can’t wait for next year! See you then!
