Great food my friends and I walked in and instantly were greeted by smiling faces. We were seated and instead of bread and butter; they gave put bread, basil and tomato spread as well as a Garlic spread, as well as a mixture of black and green olives. We had there one of their current specials (my group) tri-​tip blue cheese and bacon sandwich. It was to die for. On the side of the plate was mash potatoes and gravy. The gravy had a little to much cream in it but it still tasted amazing. I will come here again for dinner when I stay at the bear valley lodge.

Like an East Bay coffeehouse in the mountains Headwaters is an oasis for anyone who doesn’t want essentially diner food in Ebbetts Pass.
You know how the food at ski resort is generally terrible? Not here! This is a place I actually look forward to eating when I’m in the mountains.
They bake a lot of their bread and pastries on-​site each day, they have fresh veggies all over the place, and their coffee is excellent.
This place is head and shoulders above anything for miles and miles around.

With few options at the Lodge, this is a great place to come for more then pizza and burgers.
The staff here are wonderfully accommodating and attentive. Walking in during the winter holidays you might want to call ahead for reservations as the kitchen is very slow.
So relax with a bottle of wine (10 $ corkage) and order a couple of apps while you wait for the mains.

This place is a favorite of ours for breakfast when we’re up at Bear Valley. The food is fresh and delicious and they take great effort to use high quality ingredients even though it must be a pain to get their hands on it up there.
We’ve had good luck with pre-​made foods like the quiches, and also prepared plates like the breakfast burrito and other yummy delights. It’s also a great option for lunch!
