Excellent customer service! I rented snowboard boots and Chad took the time to check the hardware on my son’s snowboard and saw there were some missing washers and screws that needed to be replaced. I was grateful because the bindings had been giving my son trouble and now it’s all fixed. We also dealt with two people at the register side and found both people extremely nice and helpful. It’s a fun place to do business since they have great merchandise and attitudes! Thank you SNAC — we’ll always rent from you and stop in to check out your cool gear!

We rented Ski gear from SNAC during the busy Christmas /​New Year break. The staff was very friendly and although they were obviously busy, they were able to get 5 sets of skis, boots, poles and bindings adjusted and ready to go in record time. We had 2 members of our group who decided not to ski the second day, so they refunded the second day charges when we returned their gear after the first day. We were able to ski at Bear Valley until the lifts close at 4pm and easily make it back in time to return our gear by their 6pm closing time. Great gear, good prices, friendly staff and fast service means that we will be back next year!

My brother and I are preparing to do a major hike at the end of the summer and we are first time hiking boot purchasers. We prefer to shop local, so we went into SNAC to try on some shoes so that we could begin to make an informed decision. The woman helping us began throwing shoes at us at a rapid pace. Within 10 minutes there must have been 5 different pair of boots in front of me. After a few minutes we told her that we were not looking to buy today but would like to eventually purchase local and are trying to make a wise chose. She then took on a horribly nasty attitude. We got out of there as soon as we could. Sad that this place doesn’t have better customer service

We had a great experience renting kayaks here. I have a very small car and was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to haul two kayaks up to the reservoir. Turns out that two kayaks fit just fine and the guys at SNAC were great with helping me load them on top of my car. They also suggested renting a canoe for doing boat-​in camping next time. The guy even measured my car to see if a canoe would fit and he said it would!
We’ll be back for that canoe!

Very good customer service and decent prices for rentals. We reserved two stand up paddle boards (kayaks really, by choice) and paid $ 40 and $ 45 for an 11 foot and 12.5 foot respectively. They took the $ 20/​kayak deposit in advance and we paid the remainder when we picked up. They provided one life vest per kayak and helped tie em up to the top, giving a little instruction to the inexperienced ones on how to paddle. Totally helpful for their reference. Returning them was a breeze and they put forth the rental price towards a board purchase… not bad pricing for those either, but we weren’t in the market at the moment (plus live in LA, so we didn’t have our SUV to take em home).
Totally recommend this place if you’re heading up to one of the lakes… I’m only guessing we’d be back!!!

We are very thankful to Sean. He is the owner of this wonderful little shop. We stopped in for a Sno– Park Pass and ended up leaving with so much more. Very helpful staff and just an all around great experience.

Customer service is beyond what you normally expect these days! It is how is supposed to be! I got a really fair price on a brand new Arbor board, was treated with the upmost respect, they explained to me all the nuances and differences on each board, and at one point when I mentioned another board that I had seen online, (I wish I knew the gentleman’s name that helped me, but I will go back there and find out and re-​posted) he took his time went online and explained to me his true opinion! Never once pressuring me to purchase from him or putting down other options! SUPPORT your «local» store and stop by when visiting the area, you will not regret it! PS: They have much better rental equipment if you are going to Bear Valley and is cheaper! A win win!!!

This is a fine store, a small mountain outfitter that caters to the family that loves the outdoors. They have a small but essential selection of gear and tools, tons of clothes for the climes, and good books on local flora and fauna. Frisbee golf? Look no further. Equipment rentals? You better believe it.
On a personal note… when my brother Ursa, a PCT thru-​hiker, came in to get his shoes repaired, the owner hooked him up with some like-​new, truly legit trail-​running shoes! Many many thanks from my family sir!

Are you kidding me? The other reviews must have been plants from the owner. Customer service? There was none. We came in to rent gear 45 minutes before closing and they wouldn’t wait on us! This after checking on the how late they were to be open that day. There was no attempt to even try to meet our needs. We were expecting great things after reading the other reviews. The owner should be aware that their staff happily turned away three complete sets to be rented on a Saturday afternoon. We will not bother to return and we have a house in Arnold. We will also pass the word on to our family and friends, no go… SNAC!

We would definitely recommend this place for ski rentals. Its cheaper than Bear Valley (~$ 10) and close to the resort so you have enough time to return your gear before they close.
The customer service was great too! We had a fiasco involving mismatched boots and they refunded us the money we spent on renting boots at the resort.
Totally coming back here the next time we go to Bear Valley!

Have been in here many times for snow shoes, cross-​country skis and some winter clothes. Always friendly and great selection. In the summer it is a frequent stop for kayak upgrades. Thanks for being in our country home local!

What a great place. We walked in to rent some snowshoes and the staff was very informative. They picked out the right snowshoes for us and actually gave us a demonstration on how to use them. I even had an old ski pole that needed a new basket and the owner went and found one that would work and even put it on for me. I would recommend this place for all of your outdoor needs.

SNAC is a one stop shop — the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The selection of gear was pretty good — some real deals on clothing if you happen to need something. The rental equipment was reasonable and in great condition. I’ll definitely be back to visit SNAC!

This store is great & has everything!
There’s a good apparel section full of brand names and cute mountain-​inspired threads. They also have shoes, rentals for skiing, boarding, kayak & canoe.
I found an awesome jacket here a few weeks ago. The prices tend to be on the higher side, but nothing out of the ordinary for the gear they sell. ie: Columbia, Roxie, Salomon etc. Its nice to come here when the seasons change because they have a good sale selection as well.

This is the only store that I know of in the area that sells top brands and a great line of products for all your outdoor needs.
