i love that they opened a location a little closer to my area. so i dont have to drive more than 20 mins just to get my fix! definitely a fan of their beef hot soup. it’s the only thing i ever order from there haha. i think their lunch special is such a good deal because you get either a free green tea or black tea(your choice) alongside your hotpot. the service here is good, there are days where its slower than usual but they are attentive most of the time. their milk teas are all really delicious! my personal favorite are the green milk tea and the hokkaido! definitely worth trying if you haven’t given it a chance. the wait time here varies. but if you’re coming here for dinner, its probably best to go around 6. i feel like the wait here is much shorter in comparison to their Garden Grove location. of course, I’ll always be back :)

I do not always crave hot pot, but when I do, I crave Boiling Point. This location shares a lot with 99 Ranch/Daiso and various other places, so parking can be a chore. The interior is very nice and modern, and you are greeted with large pictures of the menu so you can choose while you wait. I highly suggest going during their lunch hours, because not only are the dishes $ 1 cheaper, but you also get a complimentary green or black tea to wash down your meal! Plus when I went(Friday), there was practically no wait. Boiling Point’s menu boasts a variety of carefully constructed dishes whose components work very well together. Some might say it’s a disadvantage that you can’t customize your own or do any substitutions, but you have to trust them on this one. I went with the LAMB, and my friend got POMELO. I was very amused at the fire system they have going on, and sure enough, the hot pot reached ~boiling point~ before long. It got too hard to eat without burning myself so I just asked them to snuff it out. Both broths were flavorful, but I liked the pomelo because it had a citrus/sour taste. I ordered my broth very spicy, but it was not even that spicy… so feel free to get one higher than you normally would. The soup is chock full of ingredients, so I found myself getting pleasantly stuffed. Since I couldn’t get enough of the broth, I asked for a refill. However, the refill is beef broth, so it wasn’t quuuite the same. I felt greatly satisfied and warm after the meal. Perfect for a chilly or rainy day! The check came with free shots of some kind of mildly sweet drink, which is very appreciated. If you want to get another dessert, they offer macaron ice cream sandwiches, and of course their Hokkaido Milk Tea. I didn’t get to try the milk tea since I had green tea, but I will definitely do that next time. Food: 5, Service: 4, Environment: 5, Price: 4

I love Boiling Point. I have been to several locations over the years and they all have the same food quality. My favorite are the Taiwanese Hotpot and the Beef Hotpot. They discontinued my Kimchi Hotpot sigh. However, this location does suck. The layout is so weird. You have these small cushion seats to your left that seats like 1 ½ person or I guess two really small people/children?. The middle section has two seaters and four seaters and the right sides you can combine for larger groups. The metal chairs are the most uncomfortable things you will sit on. And because of the layout, what ends up happening is having to wait more than 20 minutes for your table of six even though the restaurant is pretty much empty. Failed floor planning. Bottom line, food is excellent as with the other locations in this chain. Leave the children and parents at home. Selectively choose who you want to eat with and head over. Oh and this place isn’t as busy as the other Boiling Points yet.

Pretty good tasting soup. My only complaint would be that they do not allow substitutions of meat. I. e I wanted the Thai broth but it came with pork meat and I wanted to switch it for beef but wasn’t allowed to… I don’t get why. Can’t they just adjust price difference or something. But anyways. Decent price and overall I had a wonderful lunch there :) I would definitely go again!

Just excellent. Very delicious meal. Many options. I intend to try each one over the next few weeks. I had the number 4 at the suggestion of the waiter. Nice atmosphere. Good service. I’m really into hot pot restaurants at the moment, and this place did not disappoint. Open till 11p so that’s a way better option over jack in the crack.

This place is bomb! Shout out to Kj he was an excellent server. He refilled our drinks & soup before we had to ask & gave us good suggestions on what to order. If you like your soup spicy you should try to Taiwanese soup. It was on point! Definitely coming back!

I’ve been to the ones in Alhambra & San Gabriel however, this place has the best customer service. Our waiter tonight was so kind. The fire for my pot went off before it has reach boiling point so I asked our waiter if he can light it again. Without any hesitation, he was more than happy to do it for us. My all time favorite is combo #3 — kimchi soup! Must try if you never had it and also, I high recommend getting their milk tea. It’s delicious :)

Been here twice and left both times full and happy :) Tried this place out with my girlfriend couple weeks ago because we wanted to try something new and felt adventurous. I’m usually not very good with Taiwanese food because of the scent, but this place was okay for me. I tried the beef soup and my girlfriend tried the Japanese miso. They were both good but if I had to choose between the two, I think the Japanese miso was better.(Well, it’s bigger and more expensive too) Also, their drinks are pretty good, too. I tried the rose green milk tea which was a tiny bit too sweet but it was still good. I’d recommend getting it less One thing I wished they had was a waiting area. We went in at around 9:30pm and there were still waits for seats. It was a bit awkward to stand in front of the door waiting, and a bit cold to wait outside. But not a big deal. Also, most staffs are really nice but some may seem less nice(?). But then again, it’s hard to smile always especially by the end of the shift, right? Overall, great food and great service! Go in for some good hotpot!

On these cold«winter» days in Cali where we’re all freezing if it drops anywhere below 70 degrees, many times, the first thing I’ll crave is soup. It’s warm, filling, and makes the cold a little more bearable. Usually the options were phở or ramen … and then I learned about Boiling Point! I’m so glad they opened one a little closer to where I live. I’ve tried it before in Gardena and enjoyed it. This location in Cerritos is perfect. The main draw, the soup stays hot pretty much through your whole meal! And … you can ask for more soup when your dish is getting a little dry. My usual go-to is the lamb soup. It is delicious, and full of the fillings that I love, including the blood rice cake which I personally really enjoy. I know I should try the others, but whenever I order, I end up ordering the lamb. I just can’t have anything else. Needless to say, I am incredibly STUFFED by the end of this meal. It’s soup, so I don’t really expect to take any of it «to-go». Tip: If you’re going for the first time, be aware the soup is VERY hot. I like to put some of the soup in the extra bowl they give to let it cool down a bit to avoid burning my tongue.

I love Boiling Point especially on cold days. The problem is everyone else loves Boiling Point always so there is always a line. I hate waiting but this place seems to relieve the feeling of waiting after the meal. On a very cold day this place hits the spot for me(other than phở). I always order the same thing which is the Beef Soup Spicy and it is an extremely good meal from start to finish. There is a lot of veggies in each soup so I FEEL like you get a good balance in your meal. Definitely will be here if it continues to be freezing out. Tip: Ask for more broth if you are running low on broth.

Yes, perfect time for some soup! And not just any soup, but Taiwanese style! I’ve been wanting to try a hot pot location for quite sometime now, and I’m pleased that they have opened up this location right in Cerritos. Of course it was packed, but the wait wasn’t as bad as I anticipated. I was happy that the server gave us a booth so that’s a plus since we didn’t want to be close to the door; cold night. Since this was my first time at a boiling point, I decided to try the beef hot soup; mild with a side of rice. It was super good and didn’t realize the portions were huge so this made me extremely happy. Another plus, they always go around if you need extra soup. I will definitely come back during lunch time since they give you free tea, sweet deal!

Hot pot is one of my favorite foods and BP does individual hot pot very well(so well that they’ve patented their own)! I’d wait up to 20 – 30 min for their delicious #2 beef bowl, and I’ve also tried the large Japanese-miso style, and most of the food I’ve tried here is solid. The lunch sets here come with a pre-set pot of your choice, tea, and rice or vermicelli. My favorite is the #2 bowl(I’m not a huge seafood person), which comes with beef, lots of cabbage, glass noodles, imitation crab, enoki, mushroom and their signature spice which adds a nice heat even with a mild order. The shape of the bowl ensures that a portion will always be boiling, and if you want it to cool down faster you can ask the waiter to remove the flame. If there isn’t enough flavor, you can also try one of the three signature dipping sauces — spicy, sweet, salty and garlic to your choosing. If you prefer spicy and exotic(like pork blood), go for the Taiwanese #1, but they also have a Thai pot for tom yum lovers, plenty of seafood options, and you can also add whatever you want if you want extra. The drinks here are also pretty solid, I remember really liking the milk tea. Some negatives: you can’t replace the rice or vermicelli with ramen(I always pay extra for ramen), the dessert snow cubes are underwhelming and I wouldn’t recommend them, and the wait can sometimes be pretty bad. Despite the negatives, BP is satisfying everytime I’ve had it and one of my favorite meals!

Perfect for soup weather! We came over the holidays so it was packed! Ended up waiting about an hour for a party of 3. You grab a number and write your name and party size down on a board. They have a little bit of standing room on the inside or you can wait outside. They have a bunch of different flavors of broths and plenty of add ons. The hot pot is individual sized, in a mini wok(super cute) and comes with either rice or vermicelli noodles.

Been hearing about BP for a while now, so I was happy to find out one recently opened up near us in Artesia. This location sits within the 99 Ranch shopping center, next door to a Lee’s Sandwiches. Parking usually sucks in this plaza as it gets crowded and the parking spaces are really narrow. Since it was super cold last night, I was craving hot soup so I suggested we try BP. Every time we pass, we see a long line of ppl waiting to get in, so we arrived early in hopes of beating the dinner rush. Got there at about 5:20pm and there were already 5 parties ahead of us on the waiting list. We decide to stick it out and wait and about 35 mins later we were seated. I ordered the Beef Hot Soup(medium spicy) which comes with thinly slices of beef, imitation crab, meatball, fish cakes, tofu, one small round of corn, tomato, cabbage, vermicelli noodles, and cilantro. Each soup comes in one size and arrives on its own metal stand that sits over a small sterno burner — this keeps your soup boiling for as long as it’s lit. If you want to extinguish the flame, you just need to ask a server and they will put it right out for you. We both requested this about ½ way in as the constant boiling kept the soup way too hot to eat easily. The soup comes with your choice of noodles or white rice. I opted for rice since the hotpot already comes with some noodles, and it was so good with the soup and all the goodies inside the soup. They have dipping sauces at each table — a hot chili oil, a citrusy soy based sauce with what tastes like garlic and ginger, and a bean sauce. We mixed the chili oil and soy which made for a wonderful sauce for our meat. After your meal they bring you a small plastic cup of basil seed lemonade. Hold the phone this is good! So refreshing and tasty. Quite a pleasant surprise(as it looks a little different and we didn’t know what to expect when at arrived at our table). Service was friendly and attentive. The line became really long while we were eating. So I would recommend coming early or at an off-hour to try to avoid long waits. Will definitely be back as we’re anxious to try their other options. I heart soup!

4.5 stars rounded up! I am so fortunate to have a Boiling Point 15 minutes away from where I live. Why? Because it is exactly what I crave on a cold East-coast wintery night we’ve been having in sunny socal. It’s that intersection between hearty, comfort, and soothing experience that one craves when all I want to do is roll up and die from the chills. Boiling Point services a Taiwanese flavor to a renown enjoyable experience; everyone gets to play! Bravo! Brava! Food: — Beef Hot Pot(Dinner $ 12.99): This is probably the safest of options for those that dont want exotic niche meats/delicacies. Everything on the item list is palatable to the western tongue, but also enjoyable because it really captures the elegant flavors of what their hot pot has to offer. Their beef soup is mild and flagrant but has that hint of MSG that you really cannot avoid in many Asian cuisines. Regardless of that, I loved the flavor profile and all the hot pot food items already pre-soaked into the broth. Add in some chili oil and you’re golden! Also, your slices of beef come clumped together, which is disappointing because it takes away from the free floating beef that should be more apparent. Pros: — Delicious hearty flavors. Many options to choose from with different flavor profiles(Thai, Korean, House Taiwanese, Vegetarian, etc etc). — Modern interior that fits the look of a well-kept and new restaurant. Perfect for a small gathering, but not for an elegant date! — Very helpful waiters. There was this one(really pretty) girl that was off-the-charts helpful and thoughtful. I normally dont recognize awesome customer service, but I had to tell her while checking out that she was really awesome to us. — That chia drink at the end was exactly what I needed. Very thoughtful, and I really liked the sweet tropical juice base to it. Cons: — Wait times average at least 30 minutes. It’s not a big restaurant so beware! — They dont take reservations. — Water cups come in a Styrofoam cup? Random? Tips: — Ask for extra soup when you’re getting low. They will refill it for free! Ask for it a few more times while you’re at it — There’s a point where you want your boiling pot to(please) stop boiling. Don’t look noob like me and blow on the flame, but ask them to put it out. They have a lid that will take this problem away; no one likes a burnt mouth! — They have a stamp card(buy 10 get one free). You’ll need to get it at the counter! — Honestly, get the rice over the glass noodles: you get way more for your buck, and they dont even give you that much noodles anyway(plus it gets overly well-done with the boiling soup base). — There is a nice line usually that lasts for at least 30 minutes. Have someone in your party go ahead of time to put your name on the waitlist. Sorry, they don’t take reservations. I’m impressed of Artesia’s Boiling Point, and I’ve found a really fun area to hang out with friends. Come here for hot pot and then walk to one of the three Boba shops a few stores down. I have no hesitation inviting any friend to try out Boiling Point because of the start-to-finish experience that really lights up anyone’s chilly evening. Thank you so much, I’ll be back(very) soon.

When you’re in the mood for a good bowl of soup on a cold/rainy day, Boiling Point really hits the spot. I came here with my boyfriend and we were sat within 5 minutes of arriving. I ordered the medium spicy beef hotpot with vermicelli and my bf ordered the extra spicy lamb hot pot with instant noodles and a side of rice. Both our orders came out in about 10 minutes. We were so hungry and so satisfied with the waiting staff and taste of the food that we practically inhaled both our hotpots, lol. I like how the waiters came around refilling our water cups and also our hotpots with more soup base. The garlic soy sauce and the bean paste were a good add-on to the soup. At the end of the meal, you’re given this type of lemon-like sample sized drink with what seemed to be chia seeds; very cleansing to the palette. It was the perfect ending to the meal. The portions are large and you could probably share one soup for two people, depending on how hungry or not you are. I had enough leftovers to pack as my lunch the following day. I will most definitely come back soon!

The soup in person doesnt look exactly like the pictures advertised which is really deceiving. The soups doesn’t have as much meat as I hoped. While there a variety of things in the bowl, it feels short for what I’m paying. No matter what time you arrive, there will always be a wait. The times I went here(1st: 9:30pm on a Friday, 2:30pm on a Monday, it was a 30 minute wait) This is the worst part about this restaraunt, and there were many tables not bussed and people waiting longer. The service isn’t amazing. My first time was with a trainee named Marylin/Mary something, short asian girl who was excellent and speedy with our dine in. She was patient and informative and we loved our recommendation. The second time was with a guy and he was nice but forgot our requests. He ran around and didnt cater to our needs as much. That being said, each server should be designated to certain amount of tables than having a bunch of servers running around. The service is not great and tied together! The food however was amazing. Definitely worthy.

Double, double, toil and trouble. Fire burn, and hot pot bubble. I’ve had enough & I’ve reached my Boiling Point, and I’m glad I did! My first dabble into Taiwanese Hot Pot, Boiling Point is located in the 99 Ranch Market plaza, next to Lee’s Sandwiches. I’ve seen the long lines at night when passing by, so I made a mental note to come during lunch to avoid any wait whatsoever. Diners receive complimentary sweetened iced tea(black or green). After ordering, have your choice of a side of rice or rice vermicelli. Lamb hot pot(extra spicy) — Steaming, bubbling & literally overflowing from the pot, the lamb hot pot was stuffed to the gills with ingredients. Rice vermicelli(with the side of vermicelli added in), blood cake, mushrooms, slices of tender lamb, tofu and the rest of the accoutrement made for a veritable feast for the lunchtime ages. After adding the entire contents of the jar of garlic sauce and some spoonfuls of spicy bean paste, the broth was perfect & delicious to the last drop. Hate to say it, but I actually prefer this to a steaming bowl of spicy miso ramen from some of my favorite ramen shops. I asked the attendant to light the flame to keep my soup warm. After awhile, though, it was taking too long to eat because I’d have to cool off each chopstick full of wonderfulness, so I asked for the flame to be extinguished. Periodically, staff comes by with a kettlefull of beef broth if you want a refill of soup. I’m unaware if there is a limit to refills. I had 1, but they never came back to my table with more. Large, spicy, tasty & filling, the lamb hot pot made me warm & happy inside. After your meal, complimentary dessert comes with the bill in the form of a shot of a basil seed drink. I’m glad it’s served in a plastic shot glass, as the drink is very sweet. On a separate occasion, I visited Boiling Point during their official Grand Opening for BOGO milk tea drinks. I ordered the Hokkaido milk tea w/light sugar and it hit the spot. Service was good. I was checked on periodically, having a refill of broth & having my question answered of what were the favorite soups of the attendants. A fair amount of booth & table seating, which I believe more could be added. Maybe extra room is needed because hot soup is moving amongst the clientele, but I’m sure a few extra tables could be added and wouldn’t hamper the operation too much. A clipboard is on hand to write your name down during the times there are a lot of people waiting in line. I’ve only been here during lunch and, thusly, had no need for a waiting list. Parking is in a private lot at the aforementioned 99 Ranch Market plaza, which can be hard to come by during peak hours. You down with The BP? Yeah, you know me! Boiling Point serves up delicious and filling hot pot soup that I simply can’t get enough of. I just had the lamb hot pot just a little while ago, and my tastebuds are still craving more. A satisfying meal that comes with complimentary iced tea & dessert? You got me, BP! Boiling Point is another great local option for me when some hot soup for the soul is needed. Highly recommend! Sometimes when it gets cold, I like to come here to drink some warm soup! I’m pretty sure that the prices have gone up since boiling point has opened more restaurants. I’ve only come here during the afternoon for lunch, but from what I can tell there always seems like there’s no line waiting to be seated, unlike the ones in Irvine, and SGV. I usually get the same thing here, the beef. I just like that one the best out of the rest that I’ve tried here. I like how if you run out of soup the workers there usually come up to you and ask if you want more. I’m not sure if this deal is valid all day but when we went here, we were offered free tea. I got the black tea, while my friend got the green tea. At the end of your meal they usually give you a small dessert. It’s some sort of sweet drink with basil seeds.
