Been here plenty of times. This church is not all that bad in my opinion, just not my home location for service going. I do enjoy attending the plays/productions that are offered around Easter and Christmas, along with other events put on by the church. It is my belief, though, that the church services offered here just do not provide substantive enough sermons. They’re fine I guess, but seem to either be watered down too much in the sense of trying to accommodate to be more ‘mainstream’. In other words, a good number of the sermons are on the verge of moving(or have moved) over to the realm of conforming some or part of the message to appease those that attend. That part is just not for me. I desire more of a straight talk, a place that does not shy away from tough topics and messages that real(i.e., most) people deal with on a daily basis. Anyways, the four-star rating is mainly accomplished by the fact of those aforementioned ‘extra-curricular’ events that the church puts on, as well as for the people that I know that attend here. I know some real nice people there. Not to say that every church has the most welcoming folks, but my experience with those that I do know here is quite amiable. All I say is give it a try. I know it won’t be for everyone and the large congregation will turn some people away. But the church does offer many different seminars, as well as offer assistance with getting one connected to support groups and Bible study groups. Lastly, this church also has a growing Spanish-speaking congregation. Their weekend service is on Sundays in the afternoon starting at 1:30pm.
