Kmart, founded by Sebastian Spering Kresge, was once a thriving corporation that had thousands of stores all around the USA and in other countries. now, you are hard pressed to find the few handful that are still in existence, mostly because they are in rural towns or in cities of a lower economic value. My visit was to see if this store was still the same as I remembered them in their prime. unfortunately the ravages of time, a poor economy, and their own internal struggles have taken their toll. the store was sparsely populated both with customers as well as employees, upon check out, the cashier was unfriendly and possessed only the most rudimentary of training since a simple problem stopped her cold in her tracks. I cant say that I will be returning to this store anytime in the near future, if again at all.

I have been going to this store since the late 70’s. I don’t like the long lines but overall I love this store. The selection of products and the prices have always been very good. I have been loyal to this store for years and hope they don’t close due to the new WM moving in nearby. Even with the long lines, it’s a great store for bargains.

I used to go to this store with my kids back in the 80s. It was nice and had a little grill type place where I could buy the kids a plate of nachos and drinks. Naturally, that had to go. I moved away for over a decade and came back to horrors. The inside had been painted a sort of Target-style red-orange. The clothing is garish. The poplin pants in classic colors and my petite length? Apparently gone. And only a few registers open where it takes forever to check out. Prices are higher than elsewhere. A dying store from the look of it.

Worst ever. I live nearby and occasionally go in when desperate for toiletries, OTC meds, etc. However, the pharmacy disappoints me every single time. Today for example, I went in to buy Mucinex D which has to be purchased from the pharmacist. I was told they had it(I even saw the box!) but they didn’t have a «code» to ring it up with so they couldn’t sell it to me. Okaaaaay??? So you have items in your store to sell but are unable to sell them. That seems like a good model for making money. I would give negative stars if I could. Save your time people — go next door to the King Soopers or Target down the road. This place is the pits.

Occasionally we visit Kmart and find things that we can’t find anywhere else, but unfortunately we’re always stuck standing in line for 15 – 20 minutes to check out. Will continue to shop here once in a while, but only when we aren’t in any sort of a hurry.

Let me preface by saying that I have been shopping at this Kmart since the early 90’s. Fifteen to 20 years ago I would have given this store four stars, but it has steadily declined over the years. In fact, during each of my visits to the store since December something has gone wrong. Here is a summary of the issues I’ve experienced during my most recent visits: First, the check out lines are often long and take upward of ten to fifteen minutes just to buy one or two items. Additionally, I needed to exchange an item that broke the moment I got home in January and I ended up waiting over 45 minutes in line in order to do a simple one item exchange(there were only two people in front of me in the returns line and there were at least two cashiers doing returns). Second, the prices and sales listed on the sales floor are not consistent at the register. Three of my most recent visits required price corrections. Each time I had to walk the employee to the display to show them that I wasn’t making up the sale(and they did correct the price — sometimes with attitude). Third, the rewards system is a joke. I had a few dollars in rewards saved up that I wanted to use. I visited Kmart just to use my reward dollars and the system was down so I couldn’t. When I returned four days later to try again I was informed that my rewards had expired.(Thanks a lot Kmart for making my rewards completely useless.) And last, the customer service is inconsistent. Some days I get outstanding service, and other times I get very rude service. And I’m not in the habit of voicing these problems to the cashiers because I know it isn’t their fault. I’ve been a regular customer for years and it bums me out to see this store fail in so many ways. I’ve tried to continue supporting them out of a sense of loyalty even though I often get better prices at the Arvada-Ridge Target. I am very disappointed. I was rooting for them, and now I hope they close and something useful to our community(like Trader Joes) will open in their place.

UGH! Every time I go the lines are crazy long and the prices are high. I would rather go somewhere else.

This place sucks! I’ve was waiting in line for 30 minutes than the register crashed before I had to go wait in another line for another thirty minutes. On top of that shotty attitudes to go with long lines. I would have left but this is the only place that has my vacuum bags. Blah!!!

Seriously, 2 checkers on a Saturday morning at 10:30? I’d give this place 0 stars but Unilocal won’t allow it.

I go to Kmart once a year, for two things… 1. Those Collectable Christmas Bears. You know, the cute little fluffy bears, dawning Christmas clothes, and having the year embroidered on their feet. I’ve bought one for the last 13 years. 2. To see if they get better. I try and want to like Kmart, but ever since the Blue Light Specials went away, so did my desire to shop there on a consistent basis. It’s not that they are bad, it’s just other discount department stores have«stepped up» the product offering while lowering prices. Kmart is still living in the past, look at all those quarter rides that still line the sidewalk outside of their stores… who uses those anymore?

2012 Review #231: I can imagine few places more depressing than this Kmart. I remember when Kmart went bankrupt 10 years ago and thought it would just cease to exist, but this store is in Supermarket limbo, hovering between life and death in a roller-coaster strip mall of depression. If you have never been to this strip mall, it starts on one end with an Arc. That Arc deserves its own depressing review. Walking from one of the more questionable Arc’s I’ve been to, one passes an actually reputable-looking King Soopers. You think you are back in the heavenly kingdom of middle class shopping, but no, and then you plunge into this huge and unnecessary Kmart. First there’s the giant greenhouse entrance with no plants, and whose doors are locked. Then there is the giant outside display of clothing just begging to be stolen, which makes me ask: why are plants inside but clothing is outside?! I actually came here to find a very basic and cheap hoodie, and when Arc paradoxically had no hoodies, I came here. They had 3. I would think that a store that sells cheap clothing for fall and back to school would sell long-sleeved clothing, but all they had were maxi dresses and skirts that looked like Kate Moss would have a hard time squeezing into. Most of the clothing is on «clearance» racks, but the items on clearance have been discounted what appears to be twice, but is actually just by a dollar each time. So, my $ 20 hoodie was discounted to $ 16.99 after 2 or 3 «price slashes» and then was on a clearance rack for 40% off. There is a very big feeling of extreme savings but none are to be found. I did find the world’s supply of Joe Boxer smiley-face accouterment, which made me feel 12 again. Kmart strangely has food, but in very limited and strange supply. I really needed flour so bought a bag here, where it was strangely expensive. I went to pay and they don’t actually have credit card readers, you have to hand your card to the clerk and still sign by hand, which makes Kmart the poor runt of supermarkets these days. I left having seen and overheard so many WTF moments that I could put«People of Walmart» to shame. You know it’s bad, when you’re worse than Walmart.

K-Mart used to be the place to go when I was little but the problem with them these days is that they seem to be behind(meaning the last) in getting new items that their competitors get. This store is no different and while the store is clean they still lack in item availability and staying current which sends me the other way to other stores not to mention that the whole neighborhood(meaning the other stores in the same shopping complex) has clientele that has bad attitudes and seem to have given up themselves in being current so maybe for this neighborhood this store fits perfectly. Whatever, I am going the other way P. S. The mens clothing selection is horrible. Nothing seems fashionable at all even their more formal wear. I guess it is for men that dress up for special occasions every ten years or so.
