Eh, I wasn’t really impressed. I was excited they had gluten free bread but the sandwich itself wasn’t all that great. I ordered it warm and the bread wasn’t even toasted at all and didn’t come out very warm overall. They only had regular turkey, and I prefer turkey with a little flare like smoked or peppered, so another choice would have been great. Everyone was really nice, but don’t think I’ll be going back again.

This has to be the worst Smiling Moose Deli there is. I just wanted a salad I did the build your own salad I was asked if I wanted spinach, wild green, I hate spinach so I said wild greens and what I got was spinach, I asked for avocado and I got guacamole I know they are the same fruit but really. I was told I could have up to three meats and one cheese with my salad. I guess you can but everything you put on it is extra, So you pay 6.99 for lettuce WOW and everything else is extra at the end I payed 22.00 for a salad that was awful. Asked to see the manager and he completely blew us off. WONTBECOMINGHEREAGAIN !!! The smiling moose deli downtown is awesome, will give them another try.

I walked in at 630 pm and the store was empty. The lady behind the counter did not greet me. I looked at the menu and the prices seems steep, but I thought it would be worth a try. I ordered the large Italian on wheat bread. I was unimpressed. The sandwich was neither cold nor hot(it’s supposed to be a hot sub). The veggies were diced and not sliced attributing to why the veggies fell from the sandwich after the first bite. The bread was on the brink of being stale. Overall, lackluster service, over priced food, and worst of all mediocre flavor.

I’ve been a customer of this chain for years. I have eaten at the louisville location the Vail location and the Mccaslin store and had great sandwhiches. I am really happy with the GF buns and the fact that they take the time and extra care to make sure my food is safe for me and not cross contaminated with gluten. I went to the Wadsworth store right around the corner from my new office last week and was confident that I would be happy again. I was SO wrong. I ordered a gf Parisian. Got back to the office and the Brie was 2 sickly slices, the avocado almost nonexistent and the chicken was old and dry. It was close to mummified. It had been kept too long and should have been thrown out long before I set foot in the establishment. The bun was hard as a rock. It had also obviously been kept too long as well. That sandwich should have never been served. My coworker said ‘I only order soup and chips and never chicken because the chicken there is gross’. It’s a sad state of affairs when your locals know your business this way. It was gross. I will not go back to that store. Bummer, because I used to enjoy Smiling Moose, but if it’s a gamble on whether or not it’s edible, I will choose another option.

I met here with friends and while we had a great time in the friendly, casual atmosphere and we stayed quite a long time, the food was lackluster. I had a Mo Rito which was dripping with grease — more than the acceptable amount for an egg, steak, hash brown and salsa wrap! The eggs were also clearly not fresh and had no flavor. The service was good and food came out quickly. I also wish the breakfast wrap had some with a side of something– a pickle, fruit, french fries, anything would have been welcome! I’ll probably be back to try something else that isn’t so greasy.

Extremely friendly staff. It was our first time to go in the moose so they have some helpful info on what is popular. Had the mile-hi Thai. Yum yum

My hubs and i were going to see a movie at the Landmark … .and we wanted to get a snacky before we went… We decided to come here and have a sandwich with a few chips… Since we don’t eat meat. we got some little veggie sammies on regular wheat bread… the guy making our snacks was nice and friendly… Yes the food is overpriced like other reviewers have commented on… we open our sandwiches and unfortunately were very lackluster… so sad cause i really was hoping for an amazing treat! i could’ve have just made a peanut butter and jelly… i did get a cream soda and that was good! i honestly don’t think its the people that work here… Its the menu and it is just not very inventive as far as food goes… i will say id rather come here then Subway… Thats not saying too much but its saying something… SO pros… nice people. clean .fast cons…boring food. over priced see for yourself… try a sammie!

I haven’t even tasted the soup yet, but based on customer service alone, this place gets 5 stars. I’m stuck, laid up flat with the worst cold of my life, in a hotel room. I googled delis in the area and found Smiling Moose, checked out the menu, and noticed it was pickup only. Well, there is no way I can drive, not even a mile, because every time I stand up the room spins from the pressure in my head. So I sent an email to their info address asking if they deliver and told them my situation. Less than 5 minutes later I get an email from Sue Daggett, the president of Smiling Moose, asking for my phone and location and she would call the Arvada store to see if they can arrange delivery. Sue called me, and said if I order from the Arvada location, she would swing by and pick it up and deliver it to my hotel. The president of Smiling Moose went out of her way to deliver chicken soup to someone sick and stuck in a hotel room. The chicken soup will be awesome, I just know it. UPDATE… This chicken soup as well as the Harvest Salad were awesome. They even brought me extra coffee. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Worst than my soggy sandwich was the terrible service. They got my order wrong, which is fine people make mistakes. What is not acceptable is to bring this to their attention and for the lady to snarl as she grabbed my sandwich. No apology, only a awful attitude. Also, my boyfriend’s sandwich was soggy and barely had any meat on it. I will not be coming back to this location.

Went there today for lunch. I met a friend at 11:40 and we ordered at 11:42. We sat in a lobby full of people with nothing in front of them. They apparently had a big order of upwards of 20 – 25 sandwiches meaning the rest of us were not going to get ours until the big order got theirs. They should have split the line workers into«big order» and«everyone waiting» there was no food coming out of that kitchen. At 12:12(30 minutes later!!!) I went and asked for a full refund. I was met with great attitude about it as they voided out my entire order. At the same time a gal had come up and asked how much longer as she had been there 25 minutes. No apology or anything. When I managed a fast food place I would have made an announcement to everyone waiting and offered up a free cookie at the least. I would have also jumped into the kitchen and got some of the orders moving. I hope the big order was worth it as I won’t be returning any time soon. I get an hour for lunch and waiting 30+ minutes for a sandwich shop is annoying. I’m embarrassed for you.

It can be hard to find a good sandwich in Colorado… The bread can make or break it, and the altitude can make baking a good sandwich roll tough here(apparently). I love the bread here at The Smiling Moose Deli, soft yet crisp on the outside, and fluffy, not flat like most sandwiches at altitude. The hot sandwiches take a couple of minutes to come out, but that is to be expected. They do a good job keeping up with the influx of customers. Unlike other delis, they are open for dinner, which is nice when you want a sandwich after about 4pm. The employees are always nice and courteous and willing to offer suggestions. Overall, my go-to sandwich place in Arvada!

The Smiling Moose Deli is one of my favorite lunch spots. It’s never super busy. The food is all made to order, and done so fairly quickly(just a few minute wait for your sandwich). The food is consistency amazing! I usually get the Mighty Mo, and it’s never failed to satisfy. It costs about $ 12 for a large sandwich, chips and a drink. So a bit pricey for a sandwich shop, but I think it’s worth the extra money. The staff is always friendly and helpful. And it’s very clean and there is plenty of seating in the dining area.

I really enjoy the smiling moose. One day I ran up to the door just to check the closing time. I noticed they were going to close soon so I went back to my car. The manager ran out after me and told me to come back in and not to worry. She did not have to do that, I could tell they were closing up. However, I have never seen two people so eager to make me a sandwich. A sandwich is a sandwich no matter where you go. I will keep going here because they treat me so well.

Consistently great food, and great service. I recently moved to Arvada and did not have a working kitchen for the first two months so I ate at the Smiling Moose a LOT. I eat here about once a week, at present. The food here is exceptionally good. Everything I’ve tried. The Bayou Chicken Sandwich is a standout, as is the Mighty Mo, but it’s all really good. I take issue with the reviewers below who describe terrible service experiences here. Except for the times with a special-order gets bungled(… and why are you such a picky eater, anyway…), I think these complaints are just bunk. Someone who stands under the pick-up sign, then thinks it’s a problem when someone asks«did you need something?» That’s not how service usually works here, and you could have been just wanting some more mayo. Really?! The food is not«insanely priced,» particularly the daily specials offering deals on standard menu items and some knock-your-socks-off specials. The tab runs between $ 15 and $ 20 for two for lunch, including drinks. That’s about average. As for Miss-I’m-Gluten-Free-and-You’re-Not-Accommodating-Enough, I agree you should seek a restaurant that’s more in tune with your expectations. That way I won’t have to sit next to you. EATHERE.

I ordered the Southwest Mo — the flavors were good, but all the meat was on one side of the sandwich and all the sauce/veggies on the other. It was a little weird… They also kept messing up everyone’s orders(including ours), so we had to wait quite a bit longer to get ours due to others having to have theirs remade. I do have to say — despite all the errors, the staff was very friendly, apologetic and quick to fix. This is the reason for 3 stars.

This is a nice little sandwich place in a strip. My coworkers and I came for lunch and I was very satisfied with my experience. I pursed a harvest wrap. When I first unwrapped it, it looked very lack luster. The spinach wrap was even a bit ripped. But then I bit in. Really nice flavors and a good proportion of lettuce, meat, dressing, extras, and bread. I gobbled it down with my free fountain drink that I received for showing a student ID. One friend raved about the tomato bail soup, but was really disappointed that her turkey avocado sandwich had tons of mayo, even though she asked to hold it. I noticed she didn’t finish her sandwich. Too bad. The restaurant had inside and outside seating, and the tables were not too clustered together. We are definitely adding this to our lunch routine.

Greeted with a rude ‘did you need something?’ Whelp, I’m standing under the ‘jump the line online order pickup’ sign so ill give you three guesses. I was treated so rudely at the counter when I went to pick up my online to-go order that when I got home I called in and asked to speak to a manager… lo and behold, the MANAGER was the person who had treated me so poorly. Once I figured this out I said«actually sorry, I think my issue lies with you and how you treated me so I guess I will have to call the corporate office». Thirty minutes later my phone rings from a blocked number… «Hi this is XXXX from Smiling Moose. I understand you were pretty upset so I wanted to see if you wanted to talk with me now.» Nope. That’s why I hung up the phone. And to give me an unsolicited call back because I didn’t block my number from Caller ID crosses the privacy line pretty far. If I had an issue that I wanted to discuss with you I would have done so when I called. I’m an adult and can communicate quite well. Poor treatment of customers is definitely not made up for by creepily calling them back at home. Ugh. Smiling Moose is banned for life from my diet. Corporate /their franchise office never responded to my customer service inquiry either, so it looks like I’ll be buying my $ 12 bread and cheese piles from somewhere else.

Whats up with all the sandwich places nowadays? Smiling Moose seems to be gaining some popularity. I will have to point out I still prefer Lenny’s to any other local sandwich chain. So– on to the Smiling review. I stopped in for lunch last week– this places gets PACKED! There were a lot of people waiting for their take away orders– now that I downloaded the Smiling Moose Android App– now I know why. Looking over the mixed Unilocal reviews — I decided on trying out their«Double Bogie»(Sliced turkey with coleslaw, banana peppers, lettuce, tomatoes and chipotle mayo, served on toasted focaccia bread.) This thing = HUUGE! So tall in fact I had a hard time fitting my big mouth around it. Good taste though– plenty of Cloeslaw but not a lot of Turkey.
