This is a small dojo that is part of a larger organization that is headquartered in upstate New York. The name comes from the founder, Master Ochiai who comes once a month to the dojo to teach alongside Sensei Will Winkler. Master Ochiai is very kind and excellent with our two kids (8 and 6). Sensei Will is extremely good with the kids and adults. He’s very skilled and dedicated. My son and daughter have grown so quickly under their instruction. It’s amazing to see them master the katas. They also focus on discipline and respect. I have no regrets in recommending Hidy Ochiai Karate to anyone.

I highly recommend this program to kids, adults, and especially families! As a fitness professional myself, I have high expectations for not only the instructor (s) but the content of what the program has to offer. I came to Hidy Ochiai with no experience in martial arts, and now wish I would’ve began training as a child. The discipline and respect for not only yourself, but others, is something that is hard to teach to young children and the school does it in a way that is empowering to both participants and parents. I found myself feeling empowered, challenged and motivated by the lessons that Master Ochiai and Sensei Winkler teach in class.
