A new favorite food truck! The BBQ jackfruit sandwich is absolutely delicious!

This place has great food. They are very friendly. The crab cakes are awesome. I highly recommend trying the food! I’ll note that you sometimes experience a disconnect between the online ordering system and the kitchen(in terms of timing) and they are a bit heavy on the mock meats. The later is a personal preference… Advice to owners: Bring back the non-mushroom filled ravioli!

Their BBQ jackfruit is the best I’ve had!

I was thrilled to find The Randy Radish truck at the RootingDC forum yesterday. I had the BBQ Jackfruit sandwich with a side of tomato basil soup and blue corn tortilla chips instead of the bread. Jackfruit is not commonly found because it’s difficult to use, and they did a great job with it. The sauce was nice and tangy, and the coleslaw on top was tasty. The soup was thick and good, but a little over-spiced for me – and I didn’t taste the basil. I hope they come into DC more often because vegan options are so hard to find.

The night before our wedding, my bride-to-be and I had The Randy Radish cater a casual sit-down dinner for our guests. The food was delicious, as we’d come to expect from our visits to their truck. Even picky eaters and kids were very well-fed, and we got loads of compliments. We’re lucky we ordered a lot of the frosted spice mini-cakes, because those were a huge hit! What’s just as important for a catering review is that we found the proprietors to be not only pleasant, helpful, and informative, but also very professional. When we met for the tasting session, they talked with us about the dishes, answered our questions, and helped us choose the menu, keeping our non-vegan guests in mind. They arrived early(despite our location being a bit of a drive for them), set up efficiently, and were flexible about our returning the equipment after our honeymoon. Plus, they charged us a very fair price, less than other caterers we’d contacted. I highly recommend them for any vegan catering needs. I wish we lived closer to their stomping grounds around Sterling, because we’d be visiting their truck a lot more often!

Healthy, vegan cuisine, 100%. That alone merits another visit. I enjoyed the jackfruit BBQ and am curious about the other offerings. I’m a big fan of vegan-friendly, healthy restaurants, so 4 stars just for that alone. The ravioli was good but only four pieces come in the $ 5 – 8 dish(can’t remember the exact price). The nice thing is that the person at the counter threw in a complimentary mac ‘n cheese that we were very surprised and grateful to receive.

My love for this place first started with their food truck, so I was delighted to learn that they opened a restaurant. This food is SO awesome, you would never know it is vegan. Recently, I had Randy Radish cater a small gathering and veggie lovers and meat lovers alike could not stop raving about this food. A +++++

I’ve had food from a ton of food trucks in the DC area, and I have to say, I think this one is my favorite! Finding tasty and non-fattening vegetarian food is quite hard to find at some trucks. I guess it is expensive to buy such fresh ingredients to make healthier options. HOWEVER, this truck does it right. I’ve had the pleasure of tasting the jackfruit sandwich, the ravioli, and the soup. Everything was so good; I wish this truck had a real restaurant! The jackfruit sandwich was full of intense bbq flavor and was very filling. The ravioli was quite the comfort food, as it came out nice and hot. The soup was also perfectly seasoned and downright tasty. I’ve seen salads on the menu here, and I’m sure they are delicious as well. Prices are pretty on par with other food trucks. I do think the food here is way more filling than, say, tacos or sandwiches, elsewhere. Bottom line: if you see this truck, get some food. You will filled to the brim once you’re done, and you’ll have had some interesting dishes!

Yum! I am eating a Quinoa, avacado, black bean, corn, pumkin seed salad. It is perfect. Just what I needed for lunch on this hot day. Light and refreshing yet filling. The staff was very friendly and fast.

I was excited to see their truck at truckeroo since they never come to DC. I got the tofu reuben but was scared to get it because it looked horrible in their facebook picture — the tofu being pink like raw meat. It actually was delicious, well minus the fake cheese. I just wish the tofu didn’t have to be pink, it just made it unappetizing to look at. I had to keep reminding myself this is not meat. lol The bread was drenched in butter which while tasty also ups the calorie count on this sandwich a lot! I took a bite of my friend’s Jackfruit sandwich and have to say it was a bit of a let down. The only flavor was BBQ sauce and the bun was cold. While we waited for out sandwiches, which was quite awhile, I noticed that the staff did not wear plastic gloves and touched the hamburger buns with their bare hands. I wasn’t happy about that.

I am so excited to have found this place! I recently decided to give up meat, and this little food truck has help inspire some creativity in my kitchen. They are planning to open a storefront later this year, and I can’t wait! Until then, I will continue to stalk their Facebook page to find them ;)

The BBQ Jackfruit sandwich is very tasty, and it feels like you’re actually eating a pulled pork sandwich if you didn’t know it was vegan. The almond encrusted cheeze log with fig tapenade tasted great with their chips as well. Didn’t taste like cheese, but still delicious. I tried these at the Virginia Wine Festival this year and glad I did!

The food here is great. I’m not vegan. Straight up carnivore here. I’ve had multiple meals from The Randy Radish and have never been disappointed. Don’t miss the black bean brownies. We now have them cater to our office regularly! Agreed with other reviewers that the BBQ Jackfruit is great.

I am not a vegetarian, though I dabble in eating non-meat dishes from time to time. And let me tell you, I love when this food truck is at an event! I’ve only tried their black bean spring rolls(on two separate occasions), but I look forward to trying other items on the menu. Love them!

BBQ Jackfruit… WOW! Can’t wait to try the whole menu, though I’ll probably just order the jackfruit again, and every visit to follow!

Baked bliss = AMAZING cinnamon bun! I don’t know how they do it but it’s perfect. I wish they had this every day! Their food is creative and delicious, and they change the menu often enough to keep it interesting. My favorite dish is their peanut sauce lathered seitan skewers. The jackfruit BBQ is definitely worth trying, it’s awesome. Love the Randy Radish, I really hope that they increase their presence in the area!

I was a bit nervous about approaching the Randy Radish truck at my first Truckeroo because of the absence of any line at all, but I needed something in my belly. My jitters were all dispelled when I received my quinoa-avocado salad. Two big scoops of thick, hearty salad and a good portion of tortilla chips on the side. In addition to the namesake ingredients, there were also nuts, seeds, and I think pico de gallo(it’s been a couple weeks). It was like an extremely satisfying guacamole, and it definitely shook up my plans to try to hit three trucks that evening. When my vegetarian friend arrived I recommended it to her, but since they were sold out by that time, she ordered a veggie corn dog that was so good she had to double check it was vegetarian. Definitely a delicious meat-free truck with healthy, hearty options!

They had me at their tagline, «Bringing sexy back, one veggie at a time.» Oh yeah, baby! You see Maggie Q? Veganism/vegetarianism can be pretty hot, eh? Anyway, the second selling point was a really interesting menu item: bbq jackfruit. Yes. You read it correctly. And let me tell you, that jackfruit looked very much like pulled pork. Who thought of this? I want something more than just a tofu burger(though they do offer a tofu reuben). The Randy Radish thinks outside the box, and that’s sexyyy if you ask me. The taste, you ask. Amaazing! The only possible con is that the jackfruit was rather healthy-tasting, minus the fat content of meaaaat. But my barbecue-happy soon-to-be-husband really enjoyed the flavor as well. He is not a pescetarian/vegan/vegetarian. He likes his pork, and the only thing he pointed out was that the jackfruit fell apart more quickly than the other white meat ever could. Still, this seven buck dish was worth every penny. I am a fan. Oh yes, before I forget, the vegan coleslaw that came with the bbq jackfruit was also very tasty and plentiful. I didn’t miss the mayo at all. The Randy Radish is a winner.

Delightful staff, delightful food. B+ Just so you know what you’re getting yourself in for, this is a 100% vegan food truck. That said, that can be hard to work with. I present the Corn Dog: Field Roast frankfurter, battered/deep fried, ketchup & mustard. It’s simple, it’s $ 5, it’s delicious. Is it the best corn dog I’ve ever had? No. Is it good for vegan food? Absolutely. I’m just not craving to go back and try everything, though this would be a perfect option when going out with a Vegan friend.

Came across these guys at the Purcellville Wine & Food Festival this weekend. I had the Mediterranean sandwich thingy and my super-picky, vegetarian wife had the Jackfruit BBQ sandwich. Both sandwiches were super awesome and tasty. An easy 5-star review.
