I was in town for a wedding and had a great cut. Reasonable prices, especially coming from NYC. Great men’s cut.

I had a haircut at Beauty Parade in mid-August 2015 while on vacation in the mountains outside Asheville. I went into Asheville for a day trip. I asked the barista at the coffee shop if she could recommend a beauty salon very close by. She sent me to Beauty Parade. I did not have an appointment, as I had just made this quick decision to get 3 inches whacked off my hair which was in a pitiful state at that point. My stylist was Cody and she took care of me immediately.(It probably helped that it was late morning on a week day!) She was very natural and kind, and very, very dedicated to giving me the best haircut and blow-dry/styling she could. I was living in the mountains that week and I told her I honestly didn’t care if she styled it or not — I was really just there for the cut — but she insisted on doing her best and most thorough job anyway. Cody has a lot of integrity and pride in her work. I promised her I would not pull my hair into a ponytail after she finished — and I didn’t pull it back until 3 days later! She gave me exactly the cut I asked for, and she respected my need for a style that requires very little maintenance as I dislike spending time in front of the mirror. I’m also using the product she recommended for me and I love it. Great cost, too. Very affordable shop. I will absolutely go back to Beauty Parade whenever I’m back in Asheville. Thank you, Cody!

Stopped in here for a blow-dry because the Biltmore doesn’t have hair services in their spa and wanted to feel great for the weekend after traveling in the Carolinas for almost a month. They sure delivered! From the awesome shampoo and relaxing scalp massage to a blow dry section by section of my thick long hair, she was terrific. Having been traveling for many many weeks I really needed roots touched up to hide gray but was hesitant to try a permanent service other than the styling in an unknown salon. Now I believe they are very capable of most any service and would not hesitate to try other services in this knowledgeable, inviting salon. Will surely stop in again next summer.

I got my hair and makeup done at Beauty Parade as part of a bridal party. I have unruly, crazy curly hair and I was really nervous! They made me feel really calm about getting my hair done, and listened to exactly what I wanted. I can honestly say I’ve never felt more beautiful than after I got made up by one of the staff at beauty parade. It was a natural, gorgeous look and it suited me well. I would have given them 5 stars, but when I went on their website to try to find the name of the staff who made me look so lovely, it looks like she doesn’t work there anymore. Too bad, she was fantastic.

I’ve been going to Beauty Parade for about three years now and always have a great experience. However, yesterday was my first cut with Beauty Operator Jen Pope, and I don’t think I’ll ever go to anyone else again! As a woman with very hard to manage, thick and frizzy hair, Jen wove some serious magic with a blow dryer. Usually when a stylist attempts to blow dry my hair, I end up having hair that’s bigger than me. I woke up this morning with my hair still looking like goddess hair! Of course, the way she cut my hair was amazing too. It still looks as thick and full as ever, but it feels light and amazing. Thank you, Jen! Thank you Beauty Parade!

Staff is experienced, talented and friendly. Got my wedding party and bridal ‘dos there. Terra is awesome. The other girls are rad and we all looked amazing. I wore extensions in my hair which looked great. If your hair tends to slip out of buns like mine, ask for more hairspray. They can hook it up. I’d recommend to anyone looking for a nice style for an event and they can make it unique and you. These girls rock! Love, The bride Oct 19, 2014

No wonder Terra and her staff are on the«Best of WNC» list every year! That’s how I found the salon when I first moved to West Asheville a year ago, and I’ve never been anywhere else since. The salon is trendy, fun and the staff are quite technically proficient. My(men’s) cut lasts longer than I usually would have expected, and I enjoy every visit. I referred my sister, also new to Asheville area(who had had problems with other stylists in the Asheville area) and she said that she was especially impressed with the time and attention that she received for a complicated coloring job and cut. The previous colorist had messed things up somewhat so there was a lot to fix. And now my sister loves the results. I also like the fact that Beauty Parade extends itself into the community, doing benefit work for fund-raising events. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

I’ve always been hesitant when looking for a stylist and at beauty parade there is no reason to worry. They have your back and really take the time to understand what you are looking for in cut, color, and style. I also can’t say I’ve ever had such wonderful customer service! Once checked in they will hang your coat and bring you a glass of water. I wouldn’t dream of trying another salon.

I had high hopes for this experience, since Asheville is so cool, and the salon seems to have that vibe, too. I have no criticism of Melissa or the other stylists. My problem is with the INEQUALITY and BIAS of their pricing. I took my daughter for a birthday haircut and color. I knew the price, and while it was a lot higher than anything I have ever paid for her, it is a splurge that we felt was justified. While waiting, I thought that since they weren’t busy, maybe they could work me in. Let me start by saying that I have baby fine thin short hair. I have always resented being charged a full price for a haircut, but in recent years, I have found many stylists willing to be more fair in their pricing, charging me what is more comparable for a man’s haircut. I currently wear my hair in a buzz cut, so it is even more outrageous to be charged full price. They wanted to charge me $ 43 for a shave. Just because I am a woman. I asked how much they would charge for a man’s shave, and they would not tell me. Just tried to justify their need to charge that for all women’s haircuts. If my daughter’s cut hadn’t already started, I would have left. I will admit that after a considerable amount of time, they did offer to reduce the price for me(don’t know how much), but by then, I already considered it to be too late to negotiate. I will not spend any more money in their salon, and I strongly recommend against them.

Took my daughter to the Beauty Parade today. I will absolutely be a repeat customer! Our stylist, Tonya, was spot on and knew how to work with my daughters curly hair. She showed us how to recreate at home. She really took her time and the cut looks beautiful. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. She had her eyebrows done and they look fabulous too. We love this place and I can’t wait to get my own hair done.

So happy! We moved from NYC to middle Georgia almost a year ago. Given local options, I’d been holding off on getting my hair cut for that entire time. What’s more, I kept putting off getting my son’s first haircut. Both my hair and his hair had long since hit a critical point of needing some careful attention. As we would be heading to Asheville for a few days, I decided to schedule an appointment. It’s perfectly normal to get your hair cut on vacation, right? On the online booking system, I noticed that Sarah had recently come from Brooklyn. A stylist after my own heart! I booked back-to-back appointments with her for my son & myself, and I loaded up my iPad with a couple of approximations of what we were looking for. When we arrived, we were courteously greeted and then Sarah did the most fantastic job of keeping my toddler totally at ease with this new strange experience. His hair came out looking absolutely fantastic – a very well-shaped, medium-short all the way around with a darling long curl left in front. After she finished up with his hair, she gave me a great approximation of the cut that I’ve had a few times before, and really listened to what I wanted for it. Even if it is weird to get haircuts on vacation, I now know what I’ll be planning for future trips to Asheville!

I went to Beauty Parade for the first time this week and had a great experience. Corlisa totally transformed my look from blonde to red, new bangs and layers. I love it! They are not cheap, but quite reasonable, very friendly. Products are also not too expensive. Tons of great magazines and coffee and tea selections to help yourself to. I love the retro theme with old 40’s-60’s fun décor. I will be going back!

The hair-stylists there were fabulous. They seem to really know what they are doing. I was recently there for a wedding party and was going to be having an up-do done on my head. I thought that my hairstylist and myself were on the same page, and had even show him a picture of the idea I was thinking. I think that he is a great stylist, but he seemed to be frazzled that day and wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. But my big issue was the manicurist. She was very… off. She wasn’t the nicest person I have ever met in my life. On top of that she did a half-assed job on just a polish change. My biggest issue was the price of the polish change. $ 15 seems a bit much to put some polish on my fingers. If would have known that, I would have foregone that. However, I felt that the stylists were very accomodating and really have great expertise.

Cute’s OK, but I would rather be fabulous! That’s on their sign outside. I went to Beauty Parade paparazzing a bridal party, had no intention of getting my hair cut, next thing you know, I’m siting down with a cape on, just like a super hero. Savannah cut my hair, she did a fantastic job. If you want a hair cut where they chop the hell out of it, she is your gal. I love it when stylist aren’t afraid to texturize. I have had my hair cut from every price point, in a lot of different cities. It’s always a love hate relationship, I will get my hair cut every visit to Asheville now. Love Beauty Parade.

I love getting my hair cut in this decidedly heavenly haven of women’s hair. It is a fun place, is friendly, and wins best salon in the local weekly paper. As a man in a beauty shop, I couldnt feel more appreciated. I think us guys break up the day. We are a quick payday in comparison to the hours and hours of color that they must do on a lady… we are a change in the pace of the conversation… and well… I feel fawned over… ok? Its way more expensive than a barber shop($ 22) but its a great cut and they spend a lot of time on you. Also cut my three year old’s hair. Last, love the bright sunny décor.

I just moved to town and needed a hair cut. I called Beauty Parade b/c they had a sign up in the window stating they had been voted #1. Not knowing anyone here it was the only recommendation I had to go on. I called to make the appt and the woman that answered asked about my hair to place me with the right stylist. I apreciated that as I have very fine hair and stylists seem to have a hard time cutting it. I was set up with Blue. Blue did a great job, she really took her time 1st in understanding what I wanted and then 2nd cutting it. My hair looks great and the cut is lasting by growing out nicely. I’ve even talked my husband into having Blue cut his hair and it looks better than ever.

Fun, friendly, with reasonable prices and a great location. I’ve been going there for about a year now, always to Amy, and she always makes me feel like a million bucks! I love what she does so much that I’ve sent/brought three other people for cuts(including my 50-ish mom and my 18 mo. old daughter), always with great results. Their products are top notch, and the retro vibe in the salon is cool but not snooty. Everyone there seems like they’d be a great person to go have a drink with later. If you go, ask for Amy, but if she’s booked up, I’m confident that you’ll be happy with anyone else there. (It looks like there’s no parking, but there’s a lot behind the building, and another one at the other end.)
