It’s very important to know that there’s a bar inside the glass studio. It’s just there inside the studio! A friend and I popped in to look at the glass and watch them work while the boys continued on to a bar. But we totally could have convinced the boys to come with us if we knew there was a bar inside. :) Next time I’m in Asheville, I’d love to just grab a beer and watch the artists work for a while. There’s something hypnotic about it. It’s the perfect place to stop if it’s raining out and the brewery bars are packed.

Very very expensive glassworks. Had a better time at the glassworks at stone mountain park in Atlanta. The place needs to decide who its clientele really is — millennial who rent and who want to drink beer while someone make things out of glass or people who want to buy glassworks for this home.

This place is awesome — the artists started blowing a platter when we got there, a team of three working together was great to see! They walked everyone through the process step by step and were very informative! Very talented place!

OK, this is something you don’t get to see every day. . Super cool glass making demonstration and art gallery. Guys created an amazing platter from a blob of molten glass right before our eyes. Stuff in the shop was really cool, a little pricey but when you think about custom glass are, worth it. I recommend stopping in and seeing this place. Enjoy!

This was one of our highlights on our most recent trip to Asheville. The owners of LGW could not of been more pleasant and interesting as they go through the nuances of glass blowing. A highlight is certainly the glass blowing demonstration, but it gets crowded so take a seat early for a good view, then when the crowds disperse you can talk to the owners. Take a moment to peruse their unusual glass displays and maybe buy some one of a kind art. Before I close out, here is a scavenger hunt for you: 1) Can you find the glass blown into the shape of a heart(complete with veins)? 2) Can you find the glass blown into the shape of a boiled peanut? 3) Can you find the glass tubes they use for each glass they blow? 4) Can you name the two countries where they obtain their glass? 5) Can you explain why you cannot take samples of the glass they cut or snip from the glass that falls to the floor? Enjoy!

What a great experience! My husband and I loved watching the glassblowers craft a beautiful piece of artwork. We fell in love with the piece so quickly that we bought it before it was even finished. We will go back in two days to pick up the final product. The staff are helpful and friendly; very informative without being overbearing. I certainly enjoyed our little adventure to this great space.

I love strolling around Asheville because you turn on a back street and find a gem like this. This is a gallery featuring glass art of all types — plates, vases, bowls and such. But not only is this a gallery but it’s a work space where you can see glass art being made and the process being explained as they go. There are a few benches in the back to sit and watch and plenty of standing room. When I stopped in they were making a few globes for the lighting over their bar. Yes, they have a bar. I assume it’s used for special events. Although I didn’t buy anything, i enjoy the experience and plan to come back on future trips to Asheville.

Real artistry. We watched the craftsman at work and they educated us at the same time. Bought some great pieces.

Much like other glass shops in the area, Lexington has a beautiful array of blown art glass. A nice selection is on display. These feel like creations you could live with for a long time — high quality, aesthetically pleasing pieces. What sets LG apart is its hung, table and floor lamps and lighting fixtures. Through a partnership with a forge in VT, the LG team pairs these artistic iron fixtures with custom, blown glass«shades». The customer service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit. Just a few blocks from the Main Street downtown.

We walked in right off Lexington Ave to find one of the owners of Lexington Glassworks working on a piece for everyone to see. It was free to watch the guys make some glass and they’re interactive with the crowd as they do it. We had time to talk to one of the owners after they were done. I didn’t catch his name but he was very friendly and personable. They have a gallery you’ll immediately see as you walk in to the studio. The pieces are for sale and range from bowls to vases. They apparently also do custom lighting and made to order pieces. If you’re in Asheville, I would definitely recommending stopping by this place. You can get some handmade art and glass while supporting art and local business. By the way, they are dog friendly!
