The quality of this food truck continues to decline. I’ve been eating Little Bee since they were located in the gas station in south Asheville years ago. When they got a food truck going, I was happy because they really were making the best Thai food in Asheville at the time. Lately I’ve been quite disappointed though, especially at the high prices they charge. Today they forgot to put the peanuts in my Pad Thai and the tofu was over cooked, fried to point that it was hard to chew. Perhaps the chef needs a vacation because I’m not getting the love I once tasted in her cooking.

Not only the best Thai in Asheville, but I think some of the best Thai you can get in the states, period. Took, the cook/chef, makes everything fresh, the curries are THICK and not watered down like every other Thai restaurant in town(except Pon’s Thai, who makes a nice curry and is(amazingly) another good Thai place in town). No, I am not an expert and have not been to Thailand. However, I travel for music around the country and tried to eat as much Thai as I could from NYC to LA over the last couple years; Took and her husband Rick nail it pretty much every time I’ve ever been there. They’ve moved from a gas station(where Pon’s is now located) to a food truck that bounces around town Wednesday-Saturdays(check the website for their location schedule). Yes, there is often a long wait. Two reasons: 1. Took makes things with care and to order; and 2. People line up for the stuff. Also, Rick did not get a Masters in Hospitality or Bedside Manner so don’t expect and Applebees smile with happy buttons when you order/pick up your food, but I consider Rick and Took friends and will stand in any weather for my Little Bee fix. They go to Thailand once a year and aren’t around over the holidays. These are times when there is a cloud of depression and withdrawal from Thai fans of Western NC. My go to order is green curry with beef(though I love the red and panang curries with pork(or any meat); the amazingly fresh and light fried spring rolls; the spicy noodles; the outstanding wings, and the spicy noodles. I am afraid to deviate too much from those offerings because, well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Best Thai food in town. Miss having them in South Asheville. Fresh ingredients and good customer service make Little Bee’s worth coming back to time and time again.

By far the best thai food in Asheville. I mean, it’s not really a competition, Asheville has some of the worst thai food I’ve ever eaten. Thai Orchid was over-priced and greasy and flavorless, Pon’s(the gas station place) was a complete let down. Little Bee is amazing. It’s actually a food truck that parks at a different place each night — Thursdays at the Brewpump in West Asheville. The panang curry is amazing… sometimes they can get a little salty but overall amazing. We even had them cater a few large dinners at our house.
