The best chips, salsa, guacamole and queso in the area! The staff and owners make you feel very welcome. Its a family establishment, great vibes, good food with very generous portions, and a great beer selection!

My husband and I love to dine here! It is delicious! They are kid friendly too. The fajitas are out of this world! The root vegetables are my absolute favorite. My only complaint is that the restrooms could be cleaner and the scrub they offer is not sanitary in my opinion, I would never use it, looks gross setting on the counter like that. Maybe invest in high power air fresheners as well. I would have given 5 stars but I know that at least the past ten times I have been there the restrooms were funky. I’m a stickler for clean restrooms!

Best Mexican food ever. Nothing compares to this food. Service is great! We continue to talk about how great the avocado margarita was and also the burrito. It’s a must try!

Heavenly food coma! I came here with my squad before heading to the Biltmore Property for their Candlelight Christmas Evenings. Rarely do you visit a place where you want everything on the menu, but this gem falls in that category. Our waitress Elleana was AMAZING, she knew what to suggest for drinks, appetizers and entrees and kept our glasses full. Major props for the sangria and the various tequila shots! Extra round of snaps for the stuffed avocado! All of our dishes were delicious. Our table had everything from the Cozumel Tacos to the 3 meat Fajitas. Portions were hearty and the BEST part is if you choose to forgo your sides they donate the funds to Manna Foodbank. YTD total is $ 50k!!! That’s impressive. It’s a nice friendly neighborhood eatery with great seating, a fabulous ambiance, and an even better patio. For the ladies there is a sugar scrub in the bathroom that will hook you up with some skin so soft baby hands!!! We are going to make this an Asheville staple you should too!

Ate here for the first time tonight for a birthday party. I loved the environment and the people are very friendly and efficient. I got the grilled steak tacos with black beans and coconut rice. The coconut rice seemed to have a funky smell and aftertaste that I didn’t care for. Our waiter noticed and asked if he could get me something else. I got the traditional Mexican rice and everything was great! Loved the food and the wait staff made it all the better. Great Mexican food with a local Asheville twist.

We LOVE The Cantina! This restaurant offers a fresh, inventive twist on Mexican cuisine with seasonal sides and tons of local beers on tap. Stop by on Taco Tuesday for $ 1 off taco plates AND kids eat free night. I highly recommend the chocolate torte for dessert. It’s phenomenal! One really cool thing about this restaurant is its former life as a Biltmore Village bowling alley. My daughter enjoys spotting the bowling pins hidden around the restaurant while we wait for our dinner. It’s neat to see a little piece of history!

Came in with my husband after a visit to the Biltmore. He had the brunch hash and it was AMAZING. I ordered the half avocado, and it was pretty good. It needed a little extra seasoning, I think. The plantains were the best part! An absolute must have!

This place is really cool looking. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. The prices were decent. However, the menu was not very informative, and I wish there were a few photos. It was disappointing to have to pay extra for chips and salsa. We had the fajitas which we agreed were«ok.» They lacked flavor, and the huge pile of ultra-thin sliced onion was kind of unappealing. The black beans were like pureed or something, and the coconut rice was not good :(My husband loved the corn bread tho! I would try again, but would definitely order one of their specials instead!

I went Friday night with a party of 4. We were promptly seated. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She worked with us to figure out the gluten free options for my son. The food arrived quickly and was very good. They have great portion sizes. I was able to share my food with my 4 year old. I ordered the pineapple and shrimp tacos with coconut rice and black beans. It was solidly good. My 7yo enjoyed his chicken tacos with black beans. My kids also enjoyed searching for the hidden bowling pins. They were super excited to receive their prizes for finding them all. The manager also came by at the end of our meal to check on our experience which was a nice touch.

I’m pretty bummed that they stopped the free chips and salsa! They definitely get points deducted for that. The food is pretty good… not the best, but better than most of the Mexican places in town. I’d recommend the stuffed avocado. The salad I have pictured was also really good, complete with crispy bacon. They have an extensive tequila selection, if that’s your thing. Depending on what you want(alcohol wise), it can get expensive. I suggest going on a Monday when they have half price margaritas. I’d skip the sangria. It’s very weak.

DELICIOUS! Got the chicken chimichanga and my husband got chicken fajitas, it was great. Good quality food, good prices, nice atmosphere, super nice waiter(Arnulfo), great drinks, BOMB.COM fried ice cream. I’m a Mexican food connoisseur, and this place was perfect.

Stopped in here for a quick lunch snack and this place has some high end«white people» mexican food. I sat at the bar and the bartender who served me was really on his game even though the place was fairly empty at the time. Strangely enough I find that when restaurants are slow the service can suffer… Anywho, I had some chips and cheese queso and a beer. Everything was great and the only complaint I would have on this spot is the prices seems to be a little high. But, its the Biltmore Village so what would you expect… I’d for sure stop in here again if I found myself in that location needing a chips and salsa fix.

This place used to be awesome but my latest visit was quite the disappointment! The chips and salsa were the best part of our meal but they used to be free now they are not! So disappointing! We ordered tacos, let me just say this, my husband hates veggies. He ordered tacos and plainly said 4 times no vegetables of any kind! Well he got his order of course, wrong. Chopped up cabbage on both tacos! We both got double rice as our sides, him Mexican rice, me coconut rice. I must say the coconut rice USED to be to die for, not this time. Both of our rices barely got touched due to the fact that it was so dry and old tasting! Another item we used to go crazy for was the cilantro sauce on the tacos. It is now super bland! I must say after this last visit we probably won’t be returning!

Service: 4 stars Food: 3.5 stars Value: 3 stars Cantina is a good place to enjoy a Mexican inspired meal with the family or friends. This used to be a La Paz back in the day so if you get that chain vibe when you walk in that is why. But this Cantina is locally owned. I do respect that they support Manna Food bank by giving patrons the option of donating one or both of the side options to Manna. The dishes are large so you won’t really notice if a pile of beans were missing!

We stopped in for lunch this weekend and had a great experience. The service was fast, attentive, and friendly and the food was delicious. I had the street tacos(shredded beef and chicken) and they were really tasty. I like that they offer a selection of sides to choose from, and you have the option of donating your sides to the needy. I really liked that. If you are in Biltmore Village be sure to stop by! I will be back on my next trip.

I stopped by The Cantina Biltmore to order some food at the bar for my wife and mother-in-law. I ended up ordering the beef quesadilla, the chicken tortilla soup and the roasted poblano soup. After placing my order, I decided to order a margarita since it was Labor Day, and celebrating a paid day off warranted a drink before walking back to our hotel. :-) I scanned the menu and was looking at the specialty margaritas as they were half price off. I asked the bartender what she would recommend, and she suggested a «top shelf» margarita and said they were the best. The guy sitting next to me endorsed the drink as he was sipping on one and mentioned they were strong. Turns out the top shelf margarita was great! My wife and mother-in-law also enjoyed their soups and beef quesadilla :-) The restaurant had a cool vibe and I would definitely visit again when I am in Asheville.

Great for just about any occasion. Cozy booths, high tops, patio seating… great ambience. Ingredients are fresh, menu is electic with something for everyone and they have an amazing brunch menu as well… an let’s not forget the margaritas… perfecto! The last time I went I had the breakfast bowl with steak, avacado, pico and more.

We came for the fun and hopping patio. It seats a lot of people and has cute twinkle lights which makes for a fun and chill summer atmosphere. The menu is your standard Mexican food and although I wouldn’t say it’s the best I’ve ever had, it was definitely tasty! I ordered the Carnita Quesadilla and enjoyed the mango slaw that I got to mix with it. The portions large and it was awesome having leftovers. The sangria looked incredible as well and came in large glasses. Our server was super friendly and she even brought out a bowl of water for a table who had brought their dog. So kind! Coolest thing though? For most of the meals, you have the option to choose two sides, but you also can choose to donate one of them to the Manna Food Center(fights hunger). They also have a cool fact in the menu that says one side is enough to serve as six meals for someone(price wise). Pretty cool!

Although The Cantina is a tourist trap, I was a tourist in Biltmore Village and I was hungry. Plus, there were only a couple options on a Sunday around 11 am. The hostess seemed pretty out of it, but we were seated quickly. Our server was awesome and rushed to put our order in before a table of about 20 was getting their order in, and I really appreciate a server who knows the kitchen is about to be backed up. We ordered a few apps and we were pretty happy for the most part. The stuffed, grilled avocados were delicious. The nachos were good, too, but they serve them on a half piece of a broken taco shell, so there was roughly 6 large nachos, rather than the typical pile of chips. The part that caught us off guard, is that we ordered 2 shots of Cabo Wabo as we were celebrating and we didn’t think much about the cost. I mean, how much could 2 shots of Sammy Hagar’s tequila really cost. Patron shots usually run around $ 10 in most, upscale places. When we got the bill, it was $ 14…per shot. That is completely insane. I know they cater to tourists, but that’s freaking Miami prices… and this isn’t Miami. On top of that, when I checked it on Unilocal, there was a 10% off ENTIREBILL coupon. It clearly stated entire bill and I saw no mention of food only, but when the bill came, besides half of it being 2 shots, only 10% was taken off for the food, so we saved a whopping $ 2.50. We come to Asheville often, and despite the food being good, we’ll just skip this place next time we’re close.
