Went on a suggestion from our Airbnb his and absolutely loved everything we ordered. Perfect portions and delicious sauces. The patio is beautiful.

Amazing! Ambience, live Spanish Guitar, candlelit tables, incredible food. Probably the best restaurant in Asheville. We recommend the pomegranate pork spring rolls, the olives, and the scallops. Oh and dessert is awesome but a bit small.

You have to try the spring rolls!!! This place is awesome if you are going for a special event and willing to spend some money. Location is great. It’s best to park in the parking garage right down from them. Reservations are a good idea too.

My favorite restaurant in Asheville hands down! I always get the blackberry chipotle margarita. The changing menu is always full of wonderful choices! My favorite dish here is the gnocchi or the shrimp and grits!

Zambra is our favorite tapas bar in NC! Our first visit was a night when they were booked to the rafters. We did not have a reservation, but were able to find two seats at the bar. We enjoyed our meal so much that we choose to sit at the bar where the service is always perfect! The mixed drinks are the best we’ve ever had. The bar tenders are so knowledgeable and fun to watch.(How can they know so many drinks without peaking at a cheat sheet?) Our favorite selection among so many delicious options are the rack of lamb with lentils, grilled scallops, and the pan seared trout! We have never had a dinner that didn’t leave us savoring the flavors and full to the gills!

Our work team was in Asheville for a week, and Zambra was kind enough to allow us to make reservations for our group of 32 people on less than a week’s notice! Peter(owner) and his partner Adam(also the chef) were wonderful to work with, they couldn’t have made it easier. We had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate for, and Adam whipped up a delicious, creative menu for us so quickly! I asked for a few modifications and he was so flexible, responsive and patient throughout the whole process. In the end, we had a menu for our group that we couldn’t have been happier with, and it was just as amazing for those with dietary restrictions as for those without. It was also very affordable, which is a huge plus. I feel like it was the best possible value we could have gotten for a nice dinner for a group of our size – the food was so unique and delicious! I was a little worried about people not getting to choose their orders since I had decided on a set menu for the group to make it easier, and also wasn’t sure if people would be filled up since it was tapas – but everyone raved about the food, and it was more than enough for everyone to leave very happily satisfied. The ambience is fun, casual yet trendy and classy at the same time. It was the perfect place for us to share an exciting meal and feel like we were getting to experience downtown Asheville’s night life. Would highly recommend Zambra to anyone, it’s a true gem! Thank you, Adam and Peter, for creating such a special experience for us!

Great food! Great Sangria! However, the service is poor, especially considering you must be willing to pay hundreds of dollars if you want to enjoy a bottle from their extensive and very impressive wine list. I have been a few times and each time, the food was delicious(lamb, a classic twist on shrimp and grits and their scallops deserve a shout out) however, each time our server either forgot about something we had ordered or ignored our requests(exchange a glass), we even saw the bar tender shout at a paying customer!!! and then laugh about it with the other servers. I hope we just went on a bad night and this is not a regular occurrence, it really would be a shame as their food is fantastic

we always go to Zambra before going to the theater in Asheville reservations are a must and it’s highly recommended to go as soon as they open because with in minutes they are fully packed with over 100 guests! The food is fresh and the chef does a delightful job of mixing flavors that are a full mouth experience flavors you taste on the beginning of the tongue in the middle and as you swallow it truly is an experience not just a place to eat!

Very nice atmosphere and service. Most of the tapas dishes were excellent… Inventive and fresh. A couple were too salty.

Arrived on a Friday night at 7pm for dinner and drinks with my Mom. It’s a huge space and the crowd was still fairly light but starting to pick-up. A nice selection of wine, beers, and cocktails. My mom opted for the sangria(the fresh fruit earned two big thumbs up) and I ordered a local draft(Green Man IPA). Between the two of us, we ordered four plates, which proved to be plenty of food — all of it was DELICIOUS. I had the crispy tofu was my protein while she enjoyed the grilled NC shrimp(the chimichurri sauce was outstanding). We split the mixed sauteed mushrooms and the Brussels sprouts(veganized). Our server was attentive. The place had a warm and welcoming vibe. I will definitely return on future trips to Asheville!

My wife and I absolutely love this place! I’m not a huge fan of sangria but they make the best sangria I’ve tasted! Oh, and did I mention their tapas are amazing? We’ve tried many items on the menus and they have not disappointed. A must stop for us everything we come to Asheville.

This place is simply beautiful and dream-like inside. They had a great selection of tapas. We ordered the cheese plate and it was SOGOOD. The shrimp with bacon was very yummy too and full of flavor. The steak tapa we ordered however was just ok to me. Still yummy. We also had the flourless torte and it was pretty basic but rich and good. What got me was our server. She was very fast but just seemed unhappy and that killed the mood some for our anniversary dinner. If a customer is paying $ 100+ for dinner… can you at least crack a smile? I understand if it was not a good night but it was a bit awkward. This place is too romantic to be ruined like that!

We had a late reservation but arrived early and waited a short bit before they seated us. The bread was a delicious starter. We had several courses of tapas: the Brussels sprouts, carrots, cheese plate, chicken with the duck cracklings, and the trout for four of us and we’re stuffed.

What stands out most from my visit to Zambra is the excellent food and drinks. Highlights definitely included the crispy brussels with blue cheese and the beef hearts. Wow, I had never had beef heart before and this was delicious. Additionally we found their crispy Sunburst trout to be exceptional. For beverage I really enjoyed the Monkey gone to Heaven. Overall, the interior décor was a little strange. it feels like you’re dining in a cave! However the food quality did not lie and we left here very happy and we’d come back in a(beef) heartbeat.

Fantastic experience tonight! So many amazing options… everything we had from the food and wine menu was on point. The gypsy jazz band playing was a highlight for us! Made for a really great atmosphere. Will come back when we visit Asheville again!

Sangria and AMAZING spring rolls!!! What about that doesn’t sound fun? This place is a hidden Asheville gem. Not touristy at all! Convenient to several parking garages. Eat, drink and walk almost anywhere downtown. And, try the spring rolls!!! For the love of all that’s holy, try the spring rolls!

I had a great time here. We arrived just a few minutes before they opened and they let us in anyways and opened up the bar for us. I was impressed from the minute I walked in. The décor is impressive, chic, and trendy. There are large rocks built into the walls and an interesting bar. We ended up sitting at the bar and ordering food and drinks. I had the red wine that was a blend. It was full of flavor and not overly dry. The server poured a good portion. For the meal, we got the sesame scallops, gnocchi, and the cheese plate. The scallops included 3 scallops with a delicious array of grapefruit and avocado. Not sure if it was worth the price for only 3, however the flavor was spot on. The cheese plate was typical, with jams to try with it. Good cheeses. I wasn’t a big fan of the gnocchi dish. There weren’t any strong flavors and it ended up being somewhat bland. I’ll definitely come back, even just for drinks.
