I attended a Level 1 Iyengar yoga class. I have never taken Iyengar yoga before, but the time of the class was good and I thought why not try something new. I was visiting Aspen and wanted to get a yoga class in so I took a chance. The studio is very nice and the desk staff were super friendly. The cost was reasonable compared to what I pay in Chicago. The class itself was just ok for me. The class started fine and I was enjoying the poses. The teacher spent a lot of time teaching and providing instruction, which was good. However, about half way through the 90 minute class the teacher told us we were going to work on head stand and we were actually going to go up in head stand. For me a Level 1 class does not involve going up in head stand. I was fine doing the initial prep poses for head stand, but I did not want to go up in head stand. I am a beginner to yoga and am not comfortable. And truly I just have no interest in ever doing head stand or hand stand no matter how many years I practice yoga. I understand the teacher needs to push students to challenge themselves, but for me the teacher was too pushy. I am used to a more laid back style of teaching where I go to yoga at home and this just did not work for me. She kept asking me over and over again if I wanted to go up. When I said no she questioned me on whether I have an injury. Then she kept saying that the people that did not go up were afraid. For me this is not a good yoga experience and I did not enjoy it. If I am not comfortable then don’t keep pushing. In the end I would never do something that made me uncomfortable no matter how pushy the instructor. After that we did an inverted leg stand, which was a nice way to end class. I will say that if it was your time of the month you couldn’t have done the last two exercises, which was about 50% of the class so not sure what you would be doing during that time. For me I would not attend this class again because I did not mesh with the instructor, but others may be fine with that style of teaching. I would try another class at O2 though because the studio seemed very nice.

What a beautiful studio! Olwen was my teacher today and she was great! The sequence was amazing, I got a shoulder injury during snowboarding yesterday and she taught me how modify the poses. She also sings beautifully! I’m visiting Aspen and My class at O2 definitely made me realize home is where the mat is hehe

Had a most fabulous facial here with Darcy Hill. She was professional, skillful, experienced, and very pleasant to deal with. She didn’t talk while I was enjoying the treatment, which was so nice. The facial was pure heaven, and my skin looked and felt wonderful afterwards. I agree with an earlier post about the reception downstairs being so-so, but the facial more than made up for it.

Had a private pilates session with Jen today. She was fabulous! I like a hardcore pilates workout and O2 more than delivered.

I love the Pilates classes and the shop is a lot of fun to browse. I enjoyed my facial very much, as did my teenager, but the prices are exceptionally high.(Leslie(facialist) is a doll though, and very capable at her job.) I found the girls at the reception to be a little«chilly» even for Aspen, and was a little disappointed.

I had a FANTASTIC facial here! They were running a special for the Eminence Blueberry Facial in the newspaper so I decided to give it a try. My skin has never looked so great! I got a glycolic peel as well and it was a very effective peel. I’m a huge fan of Eminence so I’m glad this is the product line they use. It is a bit off the beaten path of main Aspen and I was walking everywhere while my in laws were on the slopes so It was a bit of an undertaking getting there. Fortunately I had a ride back or my freshly peeled skin would’ve been hurting. There was no hard push for product purchase and my esthetician was very professional. I highly recommend in contrast to something a little more spendy– like say the St. Regis.

I hiked through a snow storm to get to a class at 9am on a Sunday. Was it worth it? Yes it was. They must have spent a fortune building this place — it’s beautiful. The substantial retail area was impressive as well — many high end clothing lines are available, and one of my fave’s — Chan Luu silver/leather jewelry. So, the class — it was a tough, top of the line vinyasa class. Not crowded, well instructed by Jo, and best of all, Jo’s playlist(Beck, Stones, Lenny Kravitz, etc etc) fit the class perfectly. I’m not used to mirrors and music, but it worked!

Unsurprisingly on the pricy side, O2 was an absolutely rockin session. The instructor was incredibly helpful and descriptive, and I truly enjoyed my session more than any I’ve had prior.

Yeah for this place! Clean, cool, calm, and collected that is how i like my yoga spots and my Pilates and Yoga instructors. Jacqueline Trombly teaches here. She is an A+ instructor and yoga diva. If you are looking for a place to stretch out those sore ski muscles or get into good shape mind and body wise go here.
